the baked goods at the counter are delicious and you definitely must order the salted choc chip cookie! customer service is fast but it gets really busy here so try to come early.

if you have a sweet tooth order the french toast, it is amazing! they definitely do not skimp on the salted caramel sauce which is the best part. the service is really good and although you usually have to wait, it's never very long. they also do really tummy chai tea! (love places that do chai tea instead of chai latte)

i brought my elderly mother and mother in law to have breakfast here, and was met with a particularly rude waitress. i didn't manage to get her name, but she was blonde, and looked about middle aged.

we usually love coming to your cafe and think the food is fresh and yum, and the staff are very friendly, and today was no exception but for this one waitress who spoke very shortly and condescendingly to us. especially to my mother in law who is hard of hearing. it was a shame to have this experience at your cafe, and we just wanted to let you know. we may have been a difficult group to take a clear order from, but the way we she dealt with us did not help the matter.

foodie day saturday took us to west juliett in marrickville for a healthy breakfast.

this was on my list for a while. and what a beautiful day to take our first visits. firstly the location is great. easy off street parking and amongst the suburban streets creates a great feeling.

there was a line. no surprise but was attended to and seated right away.

the cafe itself is an open plan semi industrial rustic feel which had a great energy and style.

the menu is great! lots of options. i ordered the poached eggs with dukkah and water cress on sourdough. it was very yum!
we also ordered their cold drip.. it was nice but lacked punch but that's down to personal preference 😊

the staff were attentive and friendly. didn't look rush even though it was busy and handled a busy service really well.

i would definitely come back!

isn't it seriously the most disappointing thing when you order the wrong dish at a restaurant? despite all the surrounding tables busily chowing down on (what looked to be) delicious, generously-filled sandwiches, i stupidly blindly follow the waitress's recommendation of the juliett salad against my gut instincts. 
it arrives - a behemoth of a salad, comprising of a mixture of avocado, cabbage and various salad leaves, and topped with a single piece of extra chicken. it's undoubtedly a great piece of chicken - ridiculously tender and juicy, but the salad itself is unremarkable, under-dressed, and feels like something i could have made myself at home. perhaps it was because i mentioned that i had a peanut allergy that all the nuts and seeds mentioned on the menu were omitted - which left a salad resembling a random assortment of vegetables thrown together without much love or thought about flavours. 
on the other hand, my friend gets the chicken sandwich (chicken, lime, chilli mayo, greens, coriander and mint) which was the far better option - the sandwich was hearty, carrying enough zing and tang to liven up the chicken. this is food envy at its best. 

i comfort myself with a banana lamington at the end of the meal - and it's delicious. soft, spongy, with a layer of banana cream in the middle and golden toasted coconut flakes on the outside for added texture and bite. yum.
overall, would return - if only to try west juliett properly!!

chips on the menu, you have my attention, and now i will order you. unfortunately, some of the chips were cold, so it may have been a mixed batch. but the ones that were still hot, were great and tasty. they were sort of between hot chips and handmade wedges. when ordering, remember to ask for a side of aioli, i went with the chilli one, and it had a great spicy kick.

this place is incredible! highly recommended. had a simple breakfast - poached eggs and bacon on toast. but boy can i say... everything was delicious! the eggs were perfectly poached, and tasted incredible - i assume because they were so fresh! also tried their bowl of royal blue chips... so good. and finally, had a salted caramel milkshake which was divine. also, service here is very friendly.

can't wait to come back and try some more things - particularly from their bakery section, i think!

it was quite busy for a week day but the food came out quite quickly. the chicken sandwich could be better described as a kale sandwich with chicken and chilli mayo. there was no lime, coriander or mint as far as i could see or taste. lamb salad was ok.

my friend recommended we try this place as she had happily been many times and i can see why. it has a great atmosphere and was full when i arrived. lucky she had arrived before me to save a seat otherwise, i would have been waiting. i had the grass fed burger and it was great. the beef was cooked perfectly. the chips were also wonderful. i regret not trying one of their famous cookies, however i would love to return to try more of the menu!

i am not a salad person but the 12 hour pork cabbage salad here changed my mind. for the price, that is a really good portion with plenty of meat.

there's definitely a busy and great atmosphere in this cafe, buzzing with a lot of inner westies and that pulled pork salad is amazing! we also took a cookie for take away and it was delicious :)

generous serving size for the salads, great flavours with good mix. additions were a great compliment to the dish as i needed some meat, therefore the grilled chicken and poached egg worked nicely.

you can never go past west juliet without having their famous pink salt chocolate chip cookie.

this place was packed, obviously for good reason! i went for coffee, which was really nice! the food that was coming out looked delicious. very nice interiors. i would definitely come back!

a nice place to have brunch in a busy cafe. the pulled pork sandwich with pear mostarda balances well. large servings and affordable. the pink salt and choc chip cookie is indulgent!
