i'm always a fan of sushi, and i've always been going to places like sushi train, sushi edo and oishii. however, i wanted to try something different this time, and i've heard great things about wagaya, so i decided to give it a crack.
i made a reservation, and was quickly served. the actual restaurant is bigger than i expected and you get seated into a big booth, which is quite nice as your conversations aren't disturbed.
it's very similar to sushi edo in terms of it's ordering system, and the service is quite fast as well. i had a couple of dishes including the seared salmon dish, which i felt could have been seared a little longer as the underside was still a little raw. it is not the best sushi i've ever had, but the variety is there, and i'd be willing to return to try the crunch rolls, which i didn't have the opportunity to experience.
the oysters are good but a little expensive and the takoyaki wasn't as crisp on the outside as i'd liked. there was excellent variety in dessert though - i enjoyed the ice cream and green tea cake.
