the closet thing i've had to japanese tapas. the setting is unique - sitting in a booth, surrounded by other booths (nice booths), so you feel you have privacy while also enjoying the atmosphere of a busy restaurant.
we ordered a range of dishes - the luxuriant tempura cheese, the homemade pork gyoza, the teriyaki chicken, an asahi (or two, three)! and the pork japanese pancake, or okonomiyaki. i'd last had this in hiroshima - not quite the same, but all in all very good.
you order remotely by tablet as you go, meaning it is a 'test and learn' experience. you can't get buyer's regret by ordering badly; if you see a tasty dish go past, you just order it! and the food is sound, no doubt about it. quick, tasty, and with character.
one of the most fun places i've eaten for some time. i would regard this as a must for visitors to brisbane - a fun way to order, a fun way to eat, a fun way to drink.
