thanks to tripadvisor i found this fantastic gem tucked in the back streets of new farm.
street parking nearby and quiet and welcoming for a weekday lunch.
i booked online - hassle free.
fully licensed, great menu with interesting daily specials, good wind list.
a warm welcome set a good impression, as did the simple, classic decor. service efficient and friendly. food amazing and the portions huge!
birthday boy was thrilled to find all his favourites. authentic bruschetta on ciabatta, ragu di cingale (wild boar ragu).
the warmed olives were delicious and my pork belly -so very good.
we were too full for dessert - our coffees were well made, hot with a nice crema.
vine has a lovely room which seats 16 - we can't wait to organise a big group booking... can't wait to go back!! brilliant!

spectacular!. we had dinner at vine a few weeks ago and try as i may i cannot think of a single thing to fault them on. we had a full three course meal and every dish was just superb. the wine selection was a plethora of great choices including some sensational italians, as you would expect. the ambiance was also thoroughly enjoyable, intimate enough for the two of us but still lively and engrossing. the star performer of the night was the service. intelligent and attentive we never lacked for an immediate response or insightful advice. i would recommend them wholeheartedly any day of the week.

beautiful selection of reds and white wine from the bar. gnocchi was perfect topped off with a delicious and generous serving of tiramisu for dessert! will definitely return for dinner again. excellent service with a romantic atmosphere.

dissapointing. i dined here last night with a group of people for valentines day. we waited an hour for mains. i ordered the gnocchi with duck and mushrooms. the gnocchi tasted dreadful. the whole dish appeared very unappetising as it was all a greyish brown colour. i only ate a few mouthfuls before i stopped eating it. others had the salmon and said it was really overcooked. the chocolate tart was delicious and so was the berry sorbet and nougat that came with it. most of the group ordered creme brulee which didnt taste nice as it tasted as though the egg was over cooked. the waitress brought out a panna cotta which no one ordered and then they billed us for it until we pointed out the mistake. i will never come here ever again and nor will others from the group.

a true gem. i've been coming to vine for years and feel as though i'm a part of the family now and that's what i love about it the most. the service and food is first class, every time, without fail.

great wine, good food. overall very good. intimate atmosphere, good selection of entrees and mains, i enjoyed the gnocchi & tagliatelle. brown butter sauce on the gnocchi beautiful. service was excellent. loved the wine. certainly worth giving this place a try. i'll be going back.

i have been to vine a couple of times for breakfast and once for dinner and i loved it!
you can't go past the haloumi, corn and zucchini fritters for breakkie :) the coffee is good and the juices, although a little slow, are worth the wait.
their dinner menu is one of the few i've seen where i was literally spoilt for choice. i found it hard to choose between about 4 entrees and all of the mains but i eventually settled for the gnudi followed by the venison, both of which were to die for!
i can't wait to go back again and test out the rest of the menu :)

bitterly disappointing. said we has no booking but then realised he was on the wrong day! waited 1.5 hours for our main, it was decent, but not worth the price. when we got the bill they charged us for 2 drinks that were not ours! for a table of 4 we were ignored. do not recommend!

perfection!. we have now dined here two times and we didn't think that they could achieve perfection twice in a row, but they did! from the friendly staff to the food, this is an absolute gem and is a must. the food is so fresh and the flavours are magical. the main servings are huge and they have a great wine list buy are also byo. last night we even asked what a weird looking alcohol with a skull on it was and within a minute a sample was at our table! (warning: don't try this mystery skull liquid unless you want to experience an indescribable burn as it turns to vapour in your mouth!)

average..... average quality food at best. which wouldn't be so bad if it was priced accordingly.... but here you don't get what you pay for. the two staff members who dealt with me were rude and incompetent. stay away...

diana. coffee was quite passable at vine, but what we were impressed with was the food. we had breakfast & my fritters were some of the best i have had. the coriander & avo shaped quenelles were just delicious. even the partner was happy with his scrambled eggs which came with addition of some small tasty chats & chorizo

vine is always great. excellent food, nice atmosphere, excellent staff and good service. good wine list too. only negative is they have put the prices up over time, making them compete with other fine dining restaurants in terms of price.

just transferred from melbourne to new farm - what a hidden jem! food is outstanding only to outshone by the service! very happy :)

vine’s pasta ‘special of the day’ was a tomato linguine tossed in pesto with pork, broccolini and green olives. ok, it might sound like a bit of a jumble, but i threw my chips in and crossed my fingers. i was surprised by how well balanced the flavours were.
