mixed feelings.. this place is definitely good, don't get me wrong on that. the food is good and reminds me of my grandmother who made many italian dishes passed down through the family. the owner is more than attentive and takes care of any issue.
however, it is pretty expensive, especially since most of the dishes i can make at home and it tastes pretty similar. that is probably just a personal opinion being that i cook a lot of italian. the little things add up fast: appetizer, dessert, wine. specials are expensive, but looking at the ingredients they should be.
my advice: go here for special occasions and live it up. or, if you want to experience good italian food, but don't want to spend around 80-120, don't order the extras. if you go with a group, discuss how you will pay ahead of time or bring cash because it is difficult to split up things likewinethat are shared and you don't want to end up paying more than your share.
great restaurant, but i will save my visits for very special occasions!!! too bad i'm poor! :)

first time to villa ravenna and the consensus was overall good. one member of the party had an escargot starter, followed by veal marsala. the escargot was flavorful and the veal was tender. the waiter expressed many people thought the marsala sauce was tarte compared to others, but we thought quite the contrary. another member of the party had the salmon pasta. the salmon was cooked nicely but the dish was probably not something we would choose to order again. the third member of the party ordered the lamb chops. i have to say i've had the priveledge of eating lamb chops all over the world and these were right on par of some of the most perfectly cooked lamb...ever. the mash was also quite tasty. and finally to the last dish...my dish. the sea scallops. sigh, i have to say i was very disappointed. after having tasted the perfectly cooked lamb, i expected my scallops to melt in my mouth, instead i was met with overcooked scallops. the flavor was nice with the sea salt - but scallops are a fine art and i was not on the same page as the artist...i probably did a disservice by not sending them back, but i hate being that person...they were edible, so i endured. :) the mushroom risotto was nice. the waiter advised on his favoritewinewhich was fantastic. he was a little quirky, but we liked that. he checked on us just enough and we weren't asked how every little thing was, which is annoying to us. it was a nice dinner, some exceeding an some lacking but all in all i'd recommend this restaurant.

villa ravenna, go there for live music, home made pasta, and limoncello, a menu accomodating modest or celebratory dining and an ambiance punctuated by family photos, italian tiles, and crisp white linen table clothes!

hands down the best italian food in tulsa. sauces and pasta are hand made. very extensive menu. if you don't see it on the menu and you can dream up what you want, chances are they will make it for you. make sure you do the quarterlywinetasting and 10 course meal.

something missing. i've gone here before and had a great time, food was great, wonderfulwineand food recommendations, entertaining servers, friendly, and knowledgeable.

i recently dined and the food andwinesuggested was awful.

for appetizers:
i like prince edward island mussel's. the server didn't know what i was even talking about and served me the mussels that we're definitely not pei mussels. tasted frozen and bland at best, a quarter of mussels didn't even open, the bruschetta is also a waste of money.

salad portion:
caesar salad and chupin soup are also bland, lacklustre of flavour.

for entree's:
the meatballs tasted out of a box, but the gnocchi 3 sauce with eggplant parmesan was the best item so far, until my brother received his entree which was the spaghetti carbonara.

wines:
asked server for a buttery chardonnay.
white wines tasted insipid, and it was oxidized. colour ofwinewas too dark and murky.

server:
seemed overwhelmed, scattered, and inexperienced.

dessert:
at this point of the meal we decided to go to the gelato building in the parking lot for dessert.

always a pleasant experience. comfortable setting, nice ambiance, good waitstaff, plenty of elbow room with the new addition. food presentation was above average, all good - no real complaints other than there seems to be something missing from the boar.

we'll go back.

expensive. add $10 to the outdated $25 entree price. dinner for three was $200. well, okay, the bottle ofwinewas $50. it was my wife's birthday.

the boar was good, not outstanding, not as flavorful as hoped. my wife's steak was excellent, as was my son's chicken parmigiana. the presentations were adequate, not as eye-catching as one would expect for the price.

the waiter was attentive and knew the product line. seating was comfortable and not crowded. good selection of wines. the host/owner watches the proceedings and steps in where needed to help customers with their coats and chairs.

and, as far as i know, this is the only italian restaurant in town where the owners speak with an italian accent. adds to the ambiance and authenticity.

live piano music played in the background. sure, it was a synthesizer, but it fit in well.

the menu items were many and interesting; the wife and i agreed this is one of the few restaurants that requires a return trip.

best restaurant in town. i love the villa ravenna, amazing authentic italian food. the villa is great for just a night out for great food or for a special occasion. i recently had my firstwinedinner and i have to say it went above my expectations. i have been to most all the upper scale restaurants in tulsa and the villa ravenna has the best wait staff by far. i am a huge coffee drinker and they make each cup for me fresh. no one else in town has done that for me. i give the villa revenna 5 stars!

a very classy place, complete with an extensivewineselection and live piano music. you can enjoy authentic italian food with your date or party in an intimate setting, candlelight included! the atmosphere is best suited for a small group or couple. the service is spectacular and the staff is extremely friendly. (a waiter recognized my date and i from the last time we dined there, which was over a year ago!) we will definitely be returning in the future.

authentic, amazing, wonderful!. i took my fiancee on our 5th year anniversary to have a romantic dinner. we loved everything about the experience. we were never rushed, our service was amazing and knowledgeable, and made exquisite recommendations for the wine! they havewinethat was especially imported that you can't buy in tulsa! we received complementary, finely aged palatable alcoholic dessert that was to die for! the complete meal was amazing! i cant say enough to describe the awesome experience! this restaurant is for those who know what authentic, fresh, delicious meals are all about! it was as if we were in italy, on vacation, with the finest service! we will be returning! the only regret was that we were too full to try the tiramisu! don't be afraid of the price as it is very reasonable! please try this restaurant as you will not regret it!

ps the complementary garlic bread with olive oil is to die for!!!!!

our favorite.... given the opportunity to venture out without children, my wife and i always head for villa ravenna. amazingwineselection, the best venison medallions and mushroom risotto anywhere, and an intimate atmosphere to enjoy it all at our own relaxing pace. these are the reasons we always come back...and we bring our friends. thank you, sergio, for putting so much effort into every experience!

an absolute delight!. my husband and i tried this place for our 20th anniversary. we are tiring of the chain restaurants and prefer to patronize locally owned, private establishments. and villa ravenna reminds us of why these are so much better than contrived, franchise options.

the ambiance is beautiful, romantic and comfortable; striking a perfect balance of classy but not pretentious. the service was friendly, prompt and professional. thewineselection was great. the menu had plenty of options, some very different choices but not so much that it was like a food-circus.

the food came promptly and was serve hot and fresh. and best of all, it was superb! we had calamari, soup, tilapia and salmon and everything was delicious! for dessert, the couple next to us surprised us with tiramisu and creme` brulee on their compliment, in honor of our anniversary, and the "house" matched it with drinks to cheer our celebration. it was just beautiful!

prices were very reasonable and the overall experience was a delight!

we both highly recommend this place and will absolutely be back!

wonderful restaurant. my wife and i have been to villa ravenna 4 times now and have never had a poor experience. we most recently dined there on december 24, 2012 and the entire experience was perfect. the cocktails, appetizer, winesuggestion, salads, and main courses were all delicious. the service was spot on. the owner was actively participating in the front of the house operations and took the time to individually thank his guests. we will definitely continue to support this fine establishment. thank you sergio. wonderful night! -jason
