excellent meal as always!. we went to verducci's on wednesday night and it was crowded. there was a line at the door, but we got a table fairly soon, maybe just 5 min. our server dedrick was excellent and the food was fabulous. we had an ossobucco on special and also chicken marsala with prochuto and mushrooms. all the food came steaming hot on the table and the taste was unbelievable! the portions were large - enough to take home left overs. the salad was included in the entree and the salad dressing was so good, that i we waned to take some home. there was also happy hour till 7pm with great wine 50% off the price. freshly baked bread was a nice surprise and real cold pressed olive oil and black olive paste dip was wonderful.
verducci is an amazing restaurant, there is nothing like this in the whole pinellas county - a very unique and high quality italian gourmet place for the price of a casual dining. really - can't find a better place if you love italian food!
this is our favorite on the beach!

the best italian restaurant in pinellas county!. we visited verducci trattoria on friday night and it was packed, but the host found us a nice table for two. we ordered osso bucco which was on specials and italian meat balls. the food was fantastic! we travel to italy every year and also make italian food at home - verducci is the place to enjoy home made, authentic italian food. all was made from scratch, fresh, perfectly spiced and beautifully presented. the osso bucco was made with white wine, stewed for 6 hours in the oven with tomatoes, vegetables and italian spices. the flavor was superb. the saffron risotto is a perfect and classic accompaniment for osso bucco. it was creamy and very tasty, made with white wine, butter and parmesan cheese. the meat balls were very-very delicious. we could taste real tomatoes in the marinara sauce and the pasta was cooked to perfection - al-dente. we were lucky to have an italian waitress, she was just awesome, we could feel the passion of her family preparing the food and making the bread in the kitchen! while waiting for our food we were served freshly baked bread buns - real bread made with yeast and olive oil, hot out of the oven. the dipping mix was made in house with black olives, italian spices and balsamic vinegar, all best quality. the food was served steaming hot and smelled just delicious. the portions were big enough to take some home. there was plenty of parking behind the restaurant in a guarded parking lot. the guard also showed us the building next door, it was under construction - a gourmet italian market will be opened soon!
i am so happy we found this gem. we are very picky and this was the firsttimewe said - this is perfect :-)
this is an awesome restaurant and such a wonderful experience! we can recommend this restaurant to the most demanding foodies, you would not be disappointed !

delicious. everytimewe go to st. pete's and stay overnight, we make it a point to eat at verducci's. the food is delicious and the prices are reasonable. i'm 100 % percent italian and don't usually go to italian restaurants because frankly, we like my cooking the best but we do look forward to eating at verduccis.

decent food, horrible service. while visiting the area, we decided to give this place a try after reading all the reviews. we opted for a pizza, as we would have no where to store leftovers if need be. the pizza was good, nothing spectacular and could have used more than the half cup of cheese on it. what really got us was the service. everyone raved about the bread and dip, but our waiter brought it to every table around us, while excluding us. we even mentioned it to him and we were brought two dry rolls by the gentleman cooking the pizzas--and none of the dip. the service was so poor, i would not recommend going. there are too many other restaurants around here to waste yourtimeand money at a restaurant that couldn't care less.

thanks urban spoon. firsttimevisit via urban spoon. warm, friendly welcomes greeted us from everyone who passed by. the family like feel was welcoming, more like coming to your relative's house for sunday dinner. our server was quick to offer suggestions and accommodating to our "not to rush" request. the bread and seasoned dipping oil was a nice start and the salads were fresh mixed greens with a light, house dressing. the lasagna and pollo verducci were delicious, portions were large. we ordered three desserts to-go: tiramisu, limoncello cake and a cannoli; so we could have a sampling and all were outstanding in flavor.

i now know why some reviews are peppered with management or owner complaints. we read some of the good reviews here about verducci, and decided to try it yesterday for lunch. the door was open, we walked in, and a guy behind the counter said: "we open at 4". we walked out, and again looked at the lunch menu hours posted to the right of the door that said that they were supposed to be open for lunch that very day. the person behind the counter made no explanation, apology, nothing. so, we left, went somewhere down the road and spent way more than we would have there, as we have no budget, and there are plenty of options in st. petersburg as far as good restaurants with full bars that serve lunch. we will not return to verducci. i spent a bit oftimein my long career working in the food business training managers for a large restaurant chain. one of the biggest problems i taught them about was customer service, and/or their lack of it if it existed. lots of restaurants that get good reviews don't understand why their business drops. in my experience, most every time, it's because of dysfunctional people skills in how to treat customers. this restaurant, from what i hear, has italians who came here from italy not too long ago. having been raised in an italian family, myself, i've repeatedly seen old world italians either not know how to deal with people skills regarding their customers, or on the other hand, get a few good reviews and over think their reputation to the point of being arrogant until they drive their customers away, as no one is that good, and then you see a sign outside one day that says; "under new management". ! this restaurant needs a 101 lesson in how to communicate with people who taketimeto choose to drive there to spend money, when they don't realize how many other choices there are out there, and how people come and go in the restaurant business in "dime a dozen" fashion. they need an attitude adjustment, as well as a manager who knows how to treat and appreciate customers, or potential customers.

excellent italian food. my family and myself were in florida during the christmas holidays. for my 50th birthday on new years eve we celebrated at verducci's. it was our firsttimethere but we will definitely be returning. we had an opportunity to meet and chat with owner and his wife. the owner is from italy and his cooking style reminds me of my mother. i am of italian descent and found the food as authentic and delicious as my mom's cooking. i would highly recommend verducci's to anyone in the st. petes beach area who is looking for an authentic italian experience. two thumbs up. tanto grazie.

one evening, my family and i were venturing over to try ted peters, but discovered they were closed on tuesday's. undaunted, i pulled out my phone and did a quick search and found a pizzeria over on st pete beach that we hadn't tried, called verducci's. walking in the door, the delicious aroma of italian food hinted that we had good food in store for us. besides that, it was a cozy looking italian eatery and we felt right at home. we were quickly greeted at the door and given a table. after giving our drink orders, we took a minute to look over the menu. we already new we wanted the cheese pizza, but what to try along with it? we decided to try giovanni's signature lasagna, with beef. while waiting for our food, we were given a salad which was very nice and a bread basket with rolls and focaccia bread served with a olive tapenade in olive oil. the hot bread was very much appreciated and the tapenade very yummy. we thought the cheese pizza was one of the best we had in a longtimeand t

absolutely wonderful. we went in by accident .. were looking for a different restaurant. decided to eat there anyway ... and man oh man are we glad that we did. we ordered a pizza and they made it 1/4 cheese for our young child and 3/4 the works for my husband and myself. it was so good. we had a cannoli and creme puffs for dessert. just fantastic. our waitress during chit chat told us that the original owner was back after sometimeaway and that the food is much better than it was just a few months ago. it was delicious. we will go again nexttimewe're on vacation.

horrible food, horrible service!. we had dinner there tonight the mussels were rancid, the sauce was tasteless, the antipasto salad was a chefs salad nothing italian about it! the waitress was horrible. the place was about 90 degrees inside and pretty much all the food was lousy! we will never go back! don't waist your money!

absolutely horrible. we went there for dinner on 6/14/11. there were 4 of us in our party. verrducci's has only about 12 tables in the whole place. the temperature in the place was about 90 degrees! i was very excited as the sign out front said mussels friadiavolo and it was my birthday. our "waitress" came to the table after about 10 minutes and asked if we wanted something to drink? we ordered two waters and two ice teas. she got the drink order wrong! we placed our dinner orders and of course i ordered the mussels. it took approximately 35 minutes for our order to come out. my friends wife ordered an antipasto salad for dinner which was more like any ordinary chef salad. my friend ordered veal marsala which consisted of two small pieces of veal with a few mushrooms plopped on top of a handful of pasta with about a tablespoon full of thick tasteless sauce.
my wife ordered veal parmesan. the veal was thick and tough and there was more breading than veal. it was served over pasta with the absolute worse tomato sauce i have ever tasted! i am italian and i can cook! if their cook is italian as they say he is- - - he needs to go back and get re-trained! when my mussels arrived i immediately smelled something bad! now i can understand one or two mussels being bad in a batch but they were all rancid! the waiter took them back after i advised that they were bad and did not return to the table to offer me anything for 15 more minutes! i did not order anything else as the rest of our party was finished with their meals and were mostly uneaten! we will never go back and you should not waste yourtimeor money!
