verducci pizzeria & trattoria

magnifico. i heard about the new restaurant from a friend and decided to ride down to the beach to try it out. from the street i was worried about parking being an issue, but there is plenty of parking behind the building. once entering, i loved the cozy feeling i immediately received when i was greeted by the host. the kitchen has an open feel and you can see the pizzas being spun in the air and made to order. the food is honestly the best italian cuisine i have ever had. for the price you pay, not only is the meal to die for, but you sure do get plenty of it. there is not one bad thing i could say about this place, except for i wish there were more locations. i will definitely be returning and recommending this place to all of my friends!

we have been looking for good italian. from ri where they have best italian restaurants. this place was recommended. it was disappointing. nothing special. still looking for good italian here in st pete area.

parking issue. the food and the service were good. however, if it rains while you are dining, or if it rained before you arrived, your shoes get covered with wet sand and dirt which tracks into the restaurant or gets your car carpets filthy. please pave the parking lot. we will be back when that job is complete.

warning do not eat here!!!. my bf, me, and two friends were up all night w food poisoning! what a horrible experience. idk if i've ever felt worse! i've personally never had food poisoning and i don't wish it on anyone. and to top it off the food was cold the first time it came to the table and the service was absolutely terrible! we contemplated walking out and really wish we would have now. we were not offered any type of discount either. worst experience at a restaurant ever!

a personal favorite of mine, this place makes me miss living in st. pete.  the red sauce might be the best i've had in a restaurant, and the chicken parmesan is out of this world.  i'm still trying to figure out what they put in the red sauce to make it so uniquely fantastic.

i don't always eat italian out (can't beat homemade), but when i do, i would go back to verducci's. i'm very picky about my italian food and will say this was excellent. we had chicken parm, lasagna, and cannoli. all very good. prices were very reasonable for the portions and the quality of food. my only complaint is the food came out too fast (entrees while we were eating our salads). i know that sounds odd but we italians don't like to be rushed in our meals.

arrived at verducci's on a thursday evening. even though, it was chilly out we sat outside because the seating indoors seemed very cramped. outdoor they had heaters and we were seated immediately. the server was friendly and took our drink orders right after we were seated. the house wine wasn't the best and the bread basket was stale. i ordered the bucatino alla carbonara and my friend ordered giovanni's lasagna. my pasta was homemade but the sauce was flavorless and heavy with oil. the lasagna was good but not great. the server forgot to bring us drink refills we requested and my coffee at the end of the meal. overall for the price the place was a disappointment. sorry verducci, i was looking for a neighborhood place for good italian and you just don't fit the bill.

we went for early bird special (many classics for $12). there was spaghetti and meatballs, chicken piccata, and polpetonne (italian meatloaf) for entrees on our table. the salad that came was fine, a creamy balsamic vinaigrette (not big on that) with mixed greens and a few vegetables. as for the spaghetti and meatballs it was pretty good! 2 huge meatballs on top of a mound of pasta, the sauce was a slight orangish color? it is probably due to cream or cheese. it was a tasty sauce-- not too salty, not too sweet. however, it wasn't as robust as my personal taste is into, but for $12 i would come again! the polpetonne was ok. a little hard the pieces that weren't hard were quite nice though. lots of flavor from the provolone, but too dry. then the chicken piccata was lovely a good amount of capers, nice lemon flavor and the chicken tasted good and fresh. our server, brandy, was an absolute delight! she started out a little shy and as she became more comfortable she was very sweet and helpful! i hope to come here again and order off the regular menu, looks delicious!

dinner date with my guy. perfect quite outdoor atmosphere with beautiful fire lamps. service was great. food was amazing! mussels in a white wine garlic sauce are a must! also he did not leave a bite on the recommended pasta dish! great place!

this was my first and last experience here! food was mediocre, service same, but food... well, it was served cold, and i do believe i was served declined plate from another table!!!!

excellent meal as always!. we went to verducci's on wednesday night and it was crowded. there was a line at the door, but we got a table fairly soon, maybe just 5 min. our server dedrick was excellent and the food was fabulous. we had an ossobucco on special and also chicken marsala with prochuto and mushrooms. all the food came steaming hot on the table and the taste was unbelievable! the portions were large - enough to take home left overs. the salad was included in the entree and the salad dressing was so good, that i we waned to take some home. there was also happy hour till 7pm with great wine 50% off the price. freshly baked bread was a nice surprise and real cold pressed olive oil and black olive paste dip was wonderful.
verducci is an amazing restaurant, there is nothing like this in the whole pinellas county - a very unique and high quality italian gourmet place for the price of a casual dining. really - can't find a better place if you love italian food!

the best italian restaurant in pinellas county!. we visited verducci trattoria on friday night and it was packed, but the host found us a nice table for two. we ordered osso bucco which was on specials and italian meat balls. the food was fantastic! we travel to italy every year and also make italian food at home - verducci is the place to enjoy home made, authentic italian food. all was made from scratch, fresh, perfectly spiced and beautifully presented. the osso bucco was made with white wine, stewed for 6 hours in the oven with tomatoes, vegetables and italian spices. the flavor was superb. the saffron risotto is a perfect and classic accompaniment for osso bucco. it was creamy and very tasty, made with white wine, butter and parmesan cheese. the meat balls were very-very delicious. we could taste real tomatoes in the marinara sauce and the pasta was cooked to perfection - al-dente. we were lucky to have an italian waitress, she was just awesome, we could feel the passion of her family preparing the food and making the bread in the kitchen! while waiting for our food we were served freshly baked bread buns - real bread made with yeast and olive oil, hot out of the oven. the dipping mix was made in house with black olives, italian spices and balsamic vinegar, all best quality. the food was served steaming hot and smelled just delicious. the portions were big enough to take some home. there was plenty of parking behind the restaurant in a guarded parking lot. the guard also showed us the building next door, it was under construction - a gourmet italian market will be opened soon!
i am so happy we found this gem. we are very picky and this was the first time we said - this is perfect :-)

both elegant and homey. unpretentious, home style italian; generous portions at moderate prices.

awesome food. my wife and i ate here tonight and it was some of the best food we have had at a restaurant since i can remember. when our some comes back from tampa in a couple days we are going back.
