i went there during christmastimewhen regent street is all decked up and got a window side table which had one of the best view that i have seen. the food is really good and service is also fast, they offer normal food but have a distinctive taste which makes it special

finally after multiple failed attempts we got the chance to go to veeraswamy. heard so much about this indian restaurant. the food and experience was simply awesome. however, i have to say that you should be ready to pay more to experience the ambiance, service and of course the michelin star. service was very welcoming. we were bit surprised that veg dum biryani was not on the menu for which we were told it was some sort of a compromise they had to make. cant say much on that comment. we ordered drinks and i enjoyed the cocktail. we ordered veg platter for starter - soya samosa, chandni paneer tikka, and dahi papdi. i wanted to taste raj kachori which was divine. the spice levels were simply perfect e.g., not too much of chaat masala or too much of dahi. chandni paneer tikka was so tender and fresh. soya samosa was good. for mains we ordered veg selection platter consisting of hara paneer, daal (sindhi style slowly cooked three lentils), chettinad aloo and subz kofta. hara paneer's gravy was very good. the moment i tasted the aloo i was reminded of chettinad dishes i used to have in chennai. it was not very hot but at the sametimeretained the flavour of chettinad. kofta was good. enjoyed the daal which was again cooked well. overall all the dishes appeared fresh with authentic flavours and taste. one good thing was that the food didnt have too much of oil.

i would make couple of suggestions. the mirchi naan could have been be bit more hot e.g., couldnt taste the chilli that much. they have to improve the online booking system. i tried to book online through my phone and it didnt show availability and when my wife tried it showed availability. she booked online but she didnt get any email confirmation. later, she called the restaurant and they said that as there was no slot available the system wouldnt have sent an booking confirmation email. but later they told that one slot is available around 5.30 and this slot was not visible to me on the online booking system. didn't understand why some of the alcoholic drinks were bit pricey.

i say it everytimeand i’ll say it again – indian food really is my secret guilty pleasure. i love bold flavours, intense spicing a little bit of heat and service in an indian restaurant is always outstanding. the only bad part about it all is the sheer calories, butter and clarified ghee it all contains, though it makes it all taste good. with our indian cravings calling we found ourselves at veeraswamy – the uk’s oldest indian restaurant on regent street.

i visited this restaurant with my family. it was a really good place for the vegetarian specifically. being a vegetarian, one often find 2 or 3 items on any menu, but to have such an extensive menu full of vegetarian & vegan varieties was quite a treat. i had a hardtimechoosing. and the food when it arrived, it was sizzling. the taste was good. i really loved this place and wish to go back soon.

it was delightful to visit veeraswamy today for lunch. all my previous visits to this place have been over dinner and we were worried about lunchtimerush, service or quality. food and service was great and business lunch menu is best if you are short on time. will visit again for business lunch.

we had a very goodtimeenjoying the high standard meal they have perfected over the years of their existence. the decor inside was very beautiful and the quick and efficient service was a cherry on top. we ordered quite a few dishes, including tempura and vegetarian platter, all of which were probably the best from those offered in the city. the special part of our dinner was the vegetable bhajia starter though. the food is quite expensive but seems to be worth the delectable food, beautiful ambiance and prompt service.

this place has been utter disappointment for me both the times that i have visited it. the sea bass was unavailable and this was when my frustration started. right from thetimewhen i ordered the dry duck to the point when my stomach started hurting after actually eating it, everything here was a disaster.
i will never recommend this place to anyone.

we had to wait for a little while to get a table and when we comfortably seated, the staff took our order. the service was quite a professional one though they took a lot oftimein refilling our glasses. though i don't have much knowledge about the indian food but can safely say that whatever i tried was absolutely delicious. the dishes had very good flavours and i will definitely return to this restaurant again.

i recently tried this upscale place and had a wonderfultimehere. the food was excellent, especially the curries which were cooked to perfection and the quantities were just right. the drinks were amazing, especially the champagne. if only they had some more space... anyhow, the whole experience was quite wonderful and thus, i would love to visit this place again and would recommend others to try it as well.

this place serves really delicious indian food. the service was top notch and i must mention that the staff was very obliging and took good care of us. they planned all our courses perfectly and it was the best indian meal we had till date. the staff also made sure, fromtimeto time, that we were satisfied with our meals which kind of was very nice on their part.

this place has been around for many long years now, and they have an amazing way of telling all the stories that this place has seen. thetimehas added character to this place, and it is visible in everything from the menus to the wine lists and even the decor. i really like the indian food served here.

this restaurant claims to be one of the oldest in uk and perhaps, the best one.
you are greeted by splendidly-attired door staff. the entrance is a bit hidden in a side alley. you take the elevator to get to the restaurant upstairs and wow, mesmerized by the ornate chandeliers. the decor is understated, yet tasteful.
the ambience is unsurpassed. our table had a gorgeous view of regent street in picadilly circus. the food is as good and authentic as it can possibly get, with outstanding service to match. the flavors rich and subtle.
must try the raj kachori. its brilliant!!
this a a great place for a relaxed meal that can be savoured -- not a place to eat if you are in a rush.
the timing of each course provided sufficienttimeto enjoy and savour the previous dish without waiting too long for the next.
we have tried sunday lunch that costs £25 for a 3 course meal.
an upscale indian restaurant that stands out from other indian restaurants in london,
it offers an all together finer-dining affair.
a very classy indian restaurant highly recommended

great food in an exceptionally pretty place. forget the moribund tourist trap this place used to be -- it's all revitalized now, by the people who run chutney mary, one of our other london favourites. there's a wonderful energy in the air here, and our warm, sparkling waitress spoke perfect english. she "got" that we're serious foodies interested in trying their less typical dishes, and she steered us enthusiastically into swell surprises that we'd never have known to try. this really is a cut above the other indian restaurants in a town crowded with good ones. expensive, yes, alas, but look at the expensive real estate it's got, and the wonderfultimeyou have here. it's an "event" evening, and great delicious fun. we're eager to return
