went for mother's day brunch. i enjoyed it more than my company who thought it was just ok. but i was disappointed that the muffins/bread and both our courses all came at the exact same time. so we went from no food for 45 minutes to more food than we could eat before it went cold. overall though the service and food were above average. the grilled donut in the bread basket might have been the best thing we had on the table. i would go back, but i won't go out of my way to do so.

went here with my mom and sister when they visited recently. we had sunday brunch and all got very different items that were enjoyed. they were busy and i think service might have been slower but we enjoyed the time chatting in the cozy environment. i had the waffle sliders which were great. we saw many other dishes and everything looked good.

i love urban table! i go there for breakfast and get the villager -- the nicest lox and bagel with all the trimmings you can get in town. at dinner, i am crazy about their salads, and their bruschetta is to die for. it has a wonderful ambience and we always get great service.

needs som flavor/spice.... cool concept, great décor, good service. food was average....on the upper end of cost/value. it was cooked well but lacked flavor...we had the salmon and scallop special. maybe i will try it again, was kind of sad - i expected better.

my sister and i went to the fourth of july brunch. we loved our server and the food was excellent. of course we could not resist the grilled donuts and we were not disappointed. we also ordered the tempura artichoke fritters which were delicious and well presented. the fritters came with arugula and pickled tomatoes and an aioli spread. for the entree, i ordered the chorizo short rib breakfast tacos. although this was my first time eating there, i loved the place for its cute decor, creative food options, excellent bloody mary's, and great service. don't miss it!

the kitchen at urban table is a scratch kitchen and its comes through in their dishes with added flavors and unique combinations that are both surprising and delicious. they are committed to using fresh and local ingredients in their dishes and change their menu frequently, leaving on some of the favorites. they strive to be your neighborhood cafe that you want to meet with friends and stay for awhile and they truly deliver. - see more at: http://www.handmadeintheheartland.com/2014/04/kc-finds-friday-urban-table.html#sthash.ixklk95r.dpuf

food was super good!!. not sure why all the negative comments, we all thought the food and service was terrific. went there tonight for our daughter's birhday, five of us. two of us had the short ribs, yummy. my husband had the burger, said it was best he has had. had the meat and cheese platter, deviled eggs and short rib flat bread, all were so good we decided we could come back and have them for dinner. will definitely be back.. our server was wonderful too.

chicken night. well the only thing good i can say about "chicken night"was our waiter devon
was awesome. the dinner was not enough for 4 adults.... the presentation poor at best. the biscuits were like rocks that we had to send back!! and the chicken had issues... i would not recommend this meal.

overpriced. ten dollars for a chicken salad sandwich. really? i hadn't' been here in about a month and discovered my fave sandwich was raised from 8.75 to 10.00. it was already overpriced, c'mon people. that and the prissy clientele are turnoffs. go to great harvest next door and get a great sandwich for much cheaper.

we visited urban table during kc restaurant week, a weeklong restaurant exhibition where restaurants offer a prix fixe menu with part of the proceeds going to various charities in kc. urban table offered one of the more extensive prix fixe menus, so we chose to visit them. i loved the rustic burlap and metal décor. . the restaurant was extremely dark, but i tried to get the best pictures i could. for our shared starter, we picked the trio of spreads with toasted bread, herb goat cheese, hummus and arugula pesto. the goat cheese and hummus were delicious, but the pesto had that arugula bitterness. for the soup/salad choice, we both chose the potato soup. i would describe it as almost a bacon soup but it was superb. i chose the chicken and dumplings for my entrée and the husband went with the hanger steak and mashed potatoes. he enjoyed his main course, but i found the chicken a little flavorless and dry. the mushroom gnocchi was delicious, which surprised this mushroom hater. we ended w

i actually really liked urban table, when i went. the decor was really awesome, and i thought their happy hour menu was pretty well done. the bartender that served us was polite, smiled a lot, and was fastidiously groomed. i looked up their regular menu online later that evening, and vowed to go back. work has been kind of hectic lately, so i haven't been able to. but i swear i will! in the mean time, you guys should check it out. it's got mixed reviews on urbanspoon.com, but we all know that the proof of the pudding is in the eating. so eat there and then tweet me @wannabgourmande to tell me how it was!

weird concept, decent food. you order up at the counter, but they keep your tab open until you sit down and have a annoying waterboy try to get your to order drinks/booze. then he finally brings your check, even though you already ordered your food yourself at the counter, and expects you to tip him. i found it rather annoying and odd, because there is no point to him, because he does not take your order.

food is good, had a half turkey sandy and green chille soup, not bad. was annoyed most of the meal by a waterboy that kept asking us to purchase more items, we were obviously on lunch from work, and did not need a beverage we would ask if we wanted one. the concept doesn't makes sense. either take or order like a sit down resturaunt or leave us alone.
