apparently we sat there too long. had a good girls night out with my daughters - wine, soup, salad, entrees, and dessert. paid the bill, put our coats on, and were asked to hurry up and leave so they could seat someone else. that's how they treat you.

latest lunch. i've now been in to urban table a half dozen times or so for lunch. i have a few gripes here and there, but overall this is one of my favorite places to grab food when i want more than a quick service restaurant and yet am not looking for a true sit down restaurant.

one of my biggest gripes is that during the lunch rush i tend to end up waiting to get a table. is this great for urban table? yes. is this great for me selfishly? not so much. my biggest issue is that we've ordered and i wonder if my food is going to come out of the kitchen before i've gotten a seat. so far it hasn't happened, but i wonder if the law of averages will catch up at some point. it's a silly complaint i know.

on our latest trip in i had the croque monsieur sandwich with spicy shoestring fries. the sandwich has some of my favorite things on it. ham, mushrooms, gruyere cheese, and really good bread. this was my first time having this tremendous sandwich, and it didn't disappoint.

the shoe string fries however were not my favorite. you ended up with a pile of 1 inch long fries and had to grab a handful of them at a time just to get some fries in your mouth. personally i'm sticking with the house made potato chips, those are worth the trip in by themselves.

all in all it was another good experience from a place that is quickly making itself a name as one of the best lunch spots in mid-johnson county.

disappointed.... my boyfriend and i recently ate at urban table. we loved the atmosphere and decor, very chic and new age. i really loved the way they have seating. we sat outside, but they had heat lamps that were pretty powerful so it's like you're sitting inside! our service was great, the server was prompt with our food and came around a few times. no complaints about that. but, when i pay $15 a dish for dinner, i expect it to be pretty good. i got the manicaretti pasta dish, and i was very disappointed. the sauce was not really a sauce, more of a puddle of broth, and the chicken was torn to oblivion! my boyfriend got the salmon and liked the piece of salmon, but wasn't crazy about the chili around it. urban table is way too expensive for the quality of food they serve. i wish i could say we had a better experience, but the food was also under seasoned.

underwelmed. it seemed that everything was just not that good. the food was maybe okay, nobody in our party loved what they got. the dining area we were sitting in was loud and annoying. service was ok. it wasn't that the experience was bad, it just wasn't good.
i might have had my hopes up because i understood that the same ownership of brgr is involved in urban spoon.

mixed emotions. i have mixed emotions after my first visit to urban table. it's been a couple of weeks since we ate there. i am sorry to say i can't remember what anyone in our party had to eat...which is not a good sign. i do remember liking the look and feel of the place and enjoying the enthusiasm of the wait staff. i'll try it again before i cast a "like it..don't like it" vote.

very disappointed. i contacted urban spoon almost a month ago to host a semi-private event. i spoke with the gm and was told i would hear back within a few days--after 3 phone calls on my part and a week later, i finally heard back and was told i would have a menu e-mailed within 3 days. that was over 2 weeks ago. the irony is the gm even said it was poor customer service on his part!
great concept and i'm sure the food is amazing, but with lack of follow-through from the top down, we won't be going there nor to brgr kitchen or gram & dun.

hmmm. close this place down for dinner. i think they could fire the bad servers and then focus on easier items.

do not eat dinner here!!. i heard the breakfast here is really good. my friend said to go because she had a good experience at breakfast, and i wanted to try something new. my experience was not like hers with the breakfast. we had to wait at our table for 30 minutes before our waiter took our order. to make up for it he gave us an option for a free dessert. i thought okay all is forgiven. then the food came out and the chicken was basically chicken jerky, like it had been under lamps for hours. finally the waiter asked if i wanted it boxed and i said no bother it is dry and he said you are right it is really dry!! then he came back and said mine was taken care of. i have to say that this is the first place i have eaten that i didn't actually eat most of my meal. it was really lacked any seasoning and my friend said his was bland as well. we were very disappointed!

urban table is the hot new concept from the owners of brgr in corinth. though located in the suburbs, it has a very urbane, chic look going on, one that would fit in beautifully in the cities of chicago or new york. though the location for this kind of operation is curious, and would seem to be more at home on the plaza, it is hitting it out of the park right where it is. part market, part counter, part bar and part restaurant, each element shines at any given hour.

one word - awesome. we went to urban table this past friday night. my husband ordered the pork chops, i had the skirt steak. both were out of this world delicious. he had apple pie for dessert - i had the lemon tart - both amazing. the bruchetta is delicious and a vey clever way to be served. loved the atmosphere and our server was excellent. can't say enough good things about urban table. loved it. can't wait to go back!

steampunk in the village?. the restaurant is visually striking: dimly glowing edison bulbs hang menacingly over metal and wood gurney-tables...a rusty industrial vent snakes across the ceiling...a farm table from texas chainsaw massacre dangles upside down (from meat hooks?)... darkly-grouted subway tiles provide a stark backdrop for the blood spatters from the vintage dentist stools lining the bar. ok, wait- maybe my imagination is starting to take over. that part about the blood-spatters isn't quite true. still, this place looks like it's only a matter of time until sweeney todd jumps out at you with a leather strap and a razor.

the food? it was interesting - kind of like body parts floating in a jar. we got the bruschetta because it seemed like the best deal on the menu (4 pieces of bread cut into 4 sections each = great for sharing) and the one with golden beets stood out. very good! we also got the deviled eggs and they were painted to look like bleeding eyes. (ok, ok, so i'm kidding again but the eggs were nothing special.)

it's a great location and it's nice to have something more upscale than the salty iguana or johnny's in corinth to break the monotony, but i don't know what it would take for me to return. except maybe a date with jack the ripper?

good with a large group but service was a little slow. we took a group of 11 out to urban table for dinner. the food was excellent and we were seated promptly. our server was attentive but didn't hover, which is nice. we went on a wednesday but the place was still very busy though it seemed adequately staffed. we had the toasted bread and olive oil with an addition of roasted elephant garlic, which came out in short order for a starter. the salad's took a bit longer and it was a little over an hour from when we were seated to when the food arrived. this could have been because we were a large group or just that the kitchen was busy. all the food was well received and a friend had a piece of chocolate cake for dessert which we passed around the table twice before it disappeared. the server was able to explain all the menu items which was nice.
upshot was that the food was good, the wine and beer list extensive and the service was good. the downsides were that it took awhile to get our entree's and the environment is very loud.

pretty good. my friend and i stopped in urban table on our lunch break. the place is impressively decorated. the menu was smaller than i expected but everything looked good. prices are a little high for what we ordered.

we received our food quickly but there was something wrong with both of our orders. my sandwich was on regular bread and the menu said it cam on a challah roll. we were in some-what of a hurry, so i didn't ask for the sandwich to be corrected. it ended up tasting great. my friend ordered the "blta" (bacon, lettuce, tomato, avocado) and the sandwich came out without the tomato. she asked for the tomato and a slice of transparent pink tomato was brought to her.
they also do not have a soda fountain, just bottled soda which is a negative in my book.
overall, i will return to try more things on their menu and chalk up our order mistakes to "working out the kinks" of a new restaurant.
