here's a winner!. this concept is going to fly and it's off to a great start!
first-not cheap so keep that in mind-there are much less expensive places to spend your money for food so stay away if that's an issue for you. i would compare it to dean and deluca without the market.
now that that is said, it's a great concept and the food is really good. i think the ingredients are fresh and high quality. the menu is good and the food preparation is good to very good though not quite great. the concept is great and well executed. i'm sure they will do quite well, they've picked a great location also.

excellent!. my husband and i ate at urban table on friday night. we loved the atmosphere & decor, the service was great and the food was amazing. we had the braised short ribs & ribeye...both were incredible. their pricing is much better than what you'd pay at fine dining establishments, and just as good. would highly recommend.

nightmare service. food was good but who cares when everything else was a catastrophe. waited 20+ minutes for an appetizer, but it took so long our entrees beat the appetizer to the table. we told the waiter we still wanted the appetizer and had to tell him to take back our entrees so they wouldn't get cold. waited another 20 minutes and then the wrong appetizer was delivered to our table. waited another 10 minutes to finally get what we ordered. beverage glasses were left empty way too long. the waiter apologized and offered us a free dessert . . . .so what if we didn't want dessert after waiting an hour to get what we ordered?? the manager was no where to be found. i expected more from the group that did brgr. never going back.

great place for small plates and conversation. urban table seems to focus on fresh ingredients and smaller plates, inviting guests to linger and enjoy drinks and conversation. the inside area is a bit crowded, so i would recommend requesting seating in the enclosed patio area, or even outdoors on a pleasant evening. they only offer four entrees, and those entrees will changed based on the season and availability of items. i was a bit surprised mussels showed up as an entree, and frankly they were a bit overpriced as other places will list them as a starter and charge less. we love mussels though and they were good, although not great. a bit chewy, although the broth was excellent.

but i think where urban table excels is the small plates it offers. they have a great array of starters - we got the poutine, which is hard to find in a lot of places. its not for those with heart conditions, but man is it good. a bit skimpy on the gravy (perhaps to save us from ourselves?) i think what will keep people coming back though is the bruscetta offering. its $13 which may give some pause, but you really get a huge offering of bruscetta. and not a scoop of tomato on top of a crusty circle of bread. its wonderfully char-grilled soft bread with a delicious array of toppings - you can choose four out of the 8-10 they offer. its a huge dish that really should be split among a party of four. the smoked salmon was outstanding and we also enjoyed the avocado and crimini mushrooms.

they also offer very reasonably priced platters of meats and cheeses, sandwiches less than $10, and no entree was over $14. the pasta dishes i saw going to other tables looked good and i would love to try their breakfast sometime. i think we'll be coming back as this restaurant seems to offer a bit of a different experience and different dishes than you can find in the area, and the prices are reasonable that we can try lots of different things. definitely a welcome addition to the area.

edit: i have now had the chance to try their lunch twice and i can safely say you can skip their lunch options. very surprised how boring and bland they are. the chicken salad sandwich was burnt, and the salad itself was just large chunks of chicken with very little dressing or anything else. the blt was something i could have made myself for much cheaper, and probably better. the shoestring potatoes are sawdust and overseasoned. i would have expected more creativity from them, but lunch is very disappointing. the salad and soup is pretty good, stick with that if you must lunch there.

two rons same color shirt, they sat the wrong ron. - one. sat at at table with other people, not cleaned. - two. too noisy ant tight sitting. loets hope the food is good. food took to long to get to the table, waitress said it was because i did not want the red cabbage on my sandwich? - three. may not return to this resturant but if i do i will ask for a table that is not in the bar area as it is too cramped and the stools are too hard.

nicely done!!. on opening day, i met a friend for breakfast. so many things looked good, that we knowingly over-ordered because we couldn't decide. we ended up getting the irish steel cut oatmeal, a selection of mini waffles (pistachio white chocolate, orange marmalade, and dark chocolate lavender), a slice of cinnamon coffee cake, and an orange scone. everything was fantastic! i did ask if their pastries are brought in or made in-house, and they assured me that everything is made fresh daily in-house. as a side note, i love their serving pieces.
the next night (tonight), my husband, a friend, and i went for dinner. i saw their nightly specials posted on facebook, and couldn't say no to their pasta selection (garganelli, arugula & red onion marmalade, sweet corn cream). we also were excited to order from their bruschetta offerings. additionally, we opted for an order of deviled eggs to start, and a whoopie pie to end. again, everything was spot-on. very impressive for their second night open! the place was packed (we waited about 20 minutes, not bad), but the service was good, considering. our friend ordered the dd truffle gc sandwich (brie, fontina, fresh figs and preserves, truffle butter, challah bread). i had a bite, and it made me want to go back later this week for lunch so i can have a whole one all to myself.
kudos to the urban table team for an incredible opening!
