we recently stopped into an uno pizzeria for a quick lunch. for decades, uno has offered lunch specials that are guaranteed to arrive at your table in 10 minutes so we knew we could eat quick. the special is normally your choice of a gardensalad, caesarsalador a cup of soup and then an entrée such as the pizza of the day , 1/2 of a pre selected sandwich or chicken thumbs . the menu is now expanded to a variety of lunch sized salads and more elaborate entrees such as chicken milanese or eggplant & zucchini on herbed focaccia . we went old school, ordering asaladand the pizza of the day. friday is the best day for vegetarians in that the pizza choices are meatless. my friend chad started with a gardensaladwith a blueberry vinaigrette . thesaladhad tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions and croutons- uno has the best croutons. for his entrée he ordered the mediterranean flatbread with spinach, plum tomatoes, kalamata olives, pesto, feta and fresh basil. while he liked it, i wasn’t a big fan. there were a ton of olives on the flatbread and they were very overpowering.
