uno pizzeria & grill

lunch special is the best option because they give you all you can eat soup and salad and the option of pasta, chicken dish, salmon etc...... for a good price. but i would choose their popular chicago style pizza or thin crust pizza. i personally prefer thin crust, simply with tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese.....simply delicious.

pizza!. uno has lots of great menu items, but somehow we always end up ordering a pizza to split, no matter what. more than half the time the pizza is finished and our main course comes home in a box. atmosphere is great, prices are reasonable, and the service is consistantly good, which is unusual on i-drive. as a local i know how tough it can be to maintain a good wait staff in the crazy boom-bust tourist cycle we have in orlando, but uno is one of the few chain stores that pulls it off.

able to survive?. on a recent afternoon i found myself in the i drive area and as we drove by uno chicago bar and grill we realized that neither one of us had been there in years and decided to give it a try to see if it was the still good.
as we walked in we realized that it was a very large place with very few people dining in it. i didn’t have the greatest feeling about our choice, but we were already seated and i wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt.
from the “hand made burger” section i ordered the bacon cheddar burger – well done. when it arrived it actually looked quite good, it was definitely a homemade patty, the bacon looked good and the challah roll looked fresh and delicious.
then i bit in to it and realized that it wasn’t well done at all, in fact it was pink and cold.
ok, send it back (which i hate to do, but i did want to enjoy my burger) the only probably now is that my friend already had his meal and he shouldn’t have to wait for mine to come back out. then the manager came over for the save and offered me a complimentary soup from the soup bar, then listed the choices for the day.
i helped myself to the broccoli cheese soup while my friend ate his meal, then about the time he was done my burger came out and this time it was cooked correctly and was actually quite tasty.
my biggest complaint was not that my burger came out wrong, (it happens) but my portion of the bill was $15 for the burger and the drink (not including tip), as well as the fact that we were there for over an hour and a half. i feel that although it did end up being a good burger that you can get just as good a meal somewhere else for much less money, an in half of the time.
as i look at the 10 previous locations of uno on urbanspoon.com i see that 6 of them are already closed. i wonder if this location will be able to survive.

this location's wait staff were incompetant and one woman messed up every table's order at least once. when i complained that my margarita did not taste like there was any patron silver in it, the woman gave me grief and didn't offer to remake it, but tried to convince me that "one should not be able to taste the silver patron!" this is my tequila if choice and she could not fool me. finally, i asked another waiter who was the only competant one there and he remade it himself, the correct way. like this rest. needs to haggle over a shot of tequila! she wanted me to buy a shot on the side! they also messed up my son's pizza and he had to wait for a new one as our meals were there. this same girl server was not happy that we sent it back. i just hope my sin didn't have sabotage put into his new pizza.

this place has really taken a dive in quality and service. the pizza is not what it used to be. the waitress had an attitude and didn't refill our drinks the whole time we were there. the deep dish pizza looked like 1/2 the size of what they used to serve just a couple of years ago.  we ordered a half cheese and half pepperoni deep dish pizza. the pizza did have good taste with the right amount of sauce and cheese. the crust didn't look even or thick as usual so the pizza looked kind of small. paid about $27 for the 12 inch pie. as a chicago native, i hate to say that i will be looking elsewhere for my pizza cravings. i love the way the inside of this place looks and how it makes me feel like i'm back home. but i won't be coming back.

white mango sangria, chicken spinocoli pasta and herbs rubbed chicken. it blew my mind. highly recommended this place and food. the staff was super friendly and sweet. the interior were telling a tale and many of the stuff was innovative. enjoyed our first day in orlando in may’17.

we recently stopped into an uno pizzeria for a quick lunch. for decades, uno has offered lunch specials that are guaranteed to arrive at your table in 10 minutes so we knew we could eat quick. the special is normally your choice of a garden salad , caesar salad or a cup of soup and then an entrée such as the pizza of the day , 1/2 of a pre selected sandwich or chicken thumbs . the menu is now expanded to a variety of lunch sized salads and more elaborate entrees such as chicken milanese or eggplant & zucchini on herbed focaccia . we went old school, ordering a salad and the pizza of the day. friday is the best day for vegetarians in that the pizza choices are meatless. my friend chad started with a garden salad with a blueberry vinaigrette . the salad had tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions and croutons- uno has the best croutons. for his entrée he ordered the mediterranean flatbread with spinach, plum tomatoes, kalamata olives, pesto, feta and fresh basil. while he liked it, i wasn’t a big fan. there were a ton of olives on the flatbread and they were very overpowering.

more $$ than $. the pizza is incredible, but i spent $20 for two pizzas that literally only had 4 small slices a piece. granted, the pieces were thick and filling, but definitely not a $ restaurant as advertised.

need one in jax!. haven't had any food here yet, that wasn't outstanding, with great staff!

great food ( i had the deep dish pie). service was great. price was right. nothing more to say.

great muchos nachos, recommend the house made guacamole. great stuffed chicken. good steak. good steamed veggies. the ferro salad is weird and should be removed from the menu. they don't have heinz 57, why? wait staff very friendly, manager checked on us. would recommend, just not the salad :)

as i find out in chicago, you win friends with gooey deep fried deep dish meaty buttery pizza.

excellent service. quietly efficient. delicious food and lots of new and interesting items on the menu. smaller portions of pasta dishes available at a lowe price. mini desserts (well not do mini). utterly allergy friendly. electronic ingredients list online and in lobby. kitchen manager double checked everything for our son with allergies, without being asked to. leftovers had date and contents written on container. wow!!!! awesome and open for christmas. thank you uno - we like your prices too :-)
