u & me restaurant

my brother in-law and his gf wanted to go to u & me for dim sum, he’s from out of town and they go here every time they come. now i’ve only ever been here at 3am after consuming enough booze to inebriate a horse; so i figured, why not? let’s do it.

i love dim sum and have the city cased, had u & me slipped through the cracks? yes, and for good reason. this place sucks. so much so it changed the opinion of my brother in-law, i am disappointed in his taste for food. there is infinitely better dim sum in calgary, let me save you a bad meal and a few hours of agony on the toilet.

u & me is held together with duct tape... literally, look around when you get there. it obviously caters to the late night crowds and rightly so, if you stumbled it at 3am almost anywhere that served deep fried dumplings would appear as the promise land. at 11am on a friday, the bar lights come on and you realize you made a mistake.

the food was terrible, i had something way too hard in my shiu mai that left me guessing and swallowing, cause that’s fun. their turnip cake in xo sauce wasgreatbut that’s real hard to mess up. the rest of it, frankly, i can’t even remember what it was that we ordered. it sucked.

if you’re rolling in past 9pm enjoy, i would too! if you’re going here for dim sum before then, go anywhere else!

this place is open for 20 hours a day! i hear they dogreatdrunk food, but i'm rarely near downtown at night, so i wouldn't know! what i do know is that their dim sum is super delicious. yummy enough for me to make the drive from fish creek about once a month. parking is easy to find and not costly (i typically go on sundays). this place is always packed, which means you need to lower your expectations when it comes to service, even with what it seems like 5-7 servers running around at all times! i will keep coming back for the food!

always agreatplace for late night food. u & me is open from 8 am to 4 am! the food is always fast and fresh and service is decent if you get here before midnight. the dim sum is really good and the hot plate items are large and agreatvalue.

the service is always a hit and miss here but the food is always yummy! i love the dim sum here and the fried rice! lots of choices and it's open till 4 amgreatfor late night cravings!

decent chinese food.  it'sgreatthat they open late!  we enjoy the good selection of dim sum dishes and congee (rice porridge).  they have large tables to accommodate large groups for lunch with coworkers or family meals.  service is fast.

definitely busy on holidays. a go-to with family and sometimes friends.greatdimsum with a good view of center st. out the window. prompt service.

my best choice forgreatfood at a good price. food in u & me is always found fresh made, hot delivered, and nice, i love it. service is very nice as well, staff are friendly.

still a good choice for dinner and late night food.... there aren't many restaurant that open 20 hours a day/7 days a week and offers late night dim sum. the food wasgreatand reasonably priced. we were surprised with the speedy service we received from friendly staff. i will certainly go back for more late night dim sum with my buddies.

great for late food. this is the best place for late night food, don't expectgreatservice, but the food is good and if your willing to wait, they will make the food fresh when you order off the main menu. this is the only place close to all the clubs and casinos that is still open after they close. the dim sum is very expensive but is made fresh to order at night.

great value. $10 per person for agreatlunch. lots of variety with 10 people there. they snuck the tripe past me and it certainly wasnt my thing but now i can say that ive tried it. the chinese donut was fantastic.

the best late night eats. love love love coming here after a late night of drinking and being out on the town. the best thing about this place is their late night dim sum menu! what agreatidea! i am constantly craving their barbeque pork buns. so fluffy and piping hot. i also love the crab meat and fish maw soup, salt and pepper squid, and all the other late night goodies they serve up. agreatway to end a fabulous night.

food good but expensive. i have good and bad comments.

good: the lady on the phone knew english (i'm chinese too but prefer to speak in english) when i ordered food for dine-in over the phone.
live crab (ginger and onion) was good. crab itself wasn'tgreatquality though (small sticky meat,maybe it's not crab season or they gave me a cheap crab).
truly late night: open until 4 am every day

bad: very expensive: crab was 33.95 and didn't include the second pincher claw which is my favorite piece!
small bowl of white congee was 4.50 which is very expensive, most restaurants have this at 2 dollars or less.

they accept credit cards as long as the meal price is 25 or over. not all chinese restaurants accept credit cards...

wonderful late night, liquor soaking, chinese quisine treat. loved the frosty tipped, bar star dealers scramblin from the incoming police, added to the mindjya buisiness atmosphere.greatservice. just a lovely place all around. 5 stars for sure

wonderful. u and me is agreatplace for food and their dim sum is great. the hotpots are great, particularly the japanese eggplant one. they're one of the only places for decent late night eating in the downtown area, and their dim sum is always fresh and tasty. on a personal note, i think the famished feline should stop eating out altogether; she doesn't seem to like any of the restaurants she goes to. and if she doesn't know what an item on a menu is, she's welcome to google it or grow a pair and ask a waiter.
