been a while since .... it has been a long time since i've returned to u & me (june floods didn't help).
so has much changed since the last time here ? find out.
a group of us headed on down to u & me for dim sum sunday morning. restaurant was bustling, but long gone are the days where people would be lined up down the stairwell (the one facing centre st.) it also helped that we all went down there a little after 10 am, ensuring a table large enough for all of us.
one thing i don't like about u & me is the layout, it does get narrow and with hot food zipping everywhere i'm surprised no one has gotten hot food on their laps.
the food itself was good, the har gow was hot and fresh with plump juicy shrimp. chicken feet was literally fall off the bone, the sauce was greasy though. other items we ordered include sui mah, beef tripe, lo bok gow, and bbq pork buns to name a few. all arrived fresh, hot, and delicious.
as for service ? to me, when it comes to dim sum, as long as they remove the empty steamers, refill the tea, and bring us the food when it is ready, it is all good and that is exactly what was performed. could they have used a smile ? for sure, but we all had a good time enjoying the tasty dim sum treats.
i wouldn't hesitate to come back again.

good food, mediocre service. went there for dim sum recently, and overall the food quality wasn't bad, it was pretty good. had the shu mai, shrimp/scallop dumplings, chicken and duck feet, beef entrails (intestine, lung, stomach), lo bok gow, and mango pudding.
it was pretty tasty, i found the food not as salty as other places which is a good thing. the food arrived at the table steaming hot, even though we did wait a bit (it was sunday around 11 am, so it was busy). tea was only lukewarm though.
service however was lacking. a member at our table had to request 2 glasses of cold water twice before it arrived.
