havnt been in months, i cant believe they drove away a frequent customer. i was once a frequent visitor toturtlemountain for great pizza and overall pleasant beer. but when i lost my job i had to stop going and by the time i came back it was changed for the worse. to sum it up, they had mostly new staff and no one recognized me and i found out something terrible about this place. they only treat their regulars with the best service and the rest are left waiting. i gave them a fair share to redeem themselves but at the end of the day, you knew who was there regularly and they never gave me the service that they gave the others. what sad way to run as business.

always good. we were there this past wednesday evening. we split a valle grande salad, a sun mountain grinder, and a red rye beer. the salad and the grinder are marked with a littleturtleon the menu, meaning that these are house specialties. and that they are! this was plenty of food for the two of us. our waiter knew that we were going to split these, so he brought extra plates without even being asked. service and food prep was prompt.10/23/15 update: we were there early afternoon.  they were busy, but able to get us right in.  our waitress was prompt and took our food and drink order.  the oku amber was very good.  the valle grande salad and sun mountain grinder are both very good and very filling.  we like it and will continue to go back...

loveturtlemountain. great atmosphere, great food and the beer selection is never boring and i like variety.

parking sucks for the crowds that it draws.

people are criticle of service but this place gets pretty busy. go in sit down order any beer and wait for your food it will be good when it gets there and i've never had a horrible experience with service however the beer and food make up for any sub par service due to crowds.

number 1, no surprise.. at the urging of my son, a former grill cook, we dropped in for lunch. the service was warm and friendly, and fast. we ordered a burger, wow, did i say that so casually? what arrived was a perfectly cooked 80/20 1/2 lb. of grilled medium rare meat. presented on a house-made bun, it begs to be eaten, now. the first bite sets the tone for the meal. shoestring fries enhance the flavor of the burger reminding you why burger and fries is a perfect marriage. half a pound is a lot of meat topped with your choice of either all-american enhancements or a serious selection of new mexican variations. either way, or plain, the quality of meat plus the skill of the grill shine. i'm not so much into the pizza experience, but i have just begun to work my way through the menu. the way i figure, i should have eaten through to the back page by thanksgiving-which i celebrate weekly atturtlemountain.

first time, food was great!. just moved to the west side and thought we would giveturtlemountain a try. atmosphere was great and staff was friendly. the first two types of beers i wanted to try were not available. i ended up trying a couple and would say that the beer is good but not great. certainly not as good as el vicino or marble or chama river local brews. the food on the other hand was wonderful. i got a pizza that was the best i have had anywhere in abq. the crust was chewy and crisp and the sauce was amazing, great fresh mushroom and very generous with the toppings. my wife got an italian sandwich wich was also very good and we split a great bowl on green chili stew. not the type of place i expected to have green chili stew that blew my top off, but was wonderful. we will be back for sure as the food was great, just hope that i can find a brew that is good to go with.

incomparable might be a good adjective for the pronounced roasted green chile taste you’ll find in all theturtlemountain’s pizzas. call it heresy if you will, but this restaurant’s pizzas are better than just about all duke city purveyors specializing in the thin-crust, gourmet ingredient genre.

great place!.turtlehas an amazing menu and the beers are even better. i have never had a bad meal here. they are also extremely accommodating: you can get a pizza made into a calzon and visa versa. they also serve lunch size calzones if you can't put away they regular size which i refer to as giant size. the wait staff is on top of things and very quick. if you like extremely spicy food (which i don't) try the queso. the cheesy bread sticks and any of the salads are wonderful. the major drawback is there is usually a wait especially on the weekends. i usually have time to throw back a beer while waiting for the table. there is an excellent variety of micro-brews on tap, you can also get a bottled beer if you don't like good beer. i highly recommend you try this gem of a restaurant.

good local pub. lived in rio rancho for 15 years and never went toturtlemountain until recently, and i must say we really like it.. we've tried different things on the menu each visit including their beers and it's all pretty good stuff.

the only thing i've had so far that i will avoid in the future is their chips and queso. the queso was just waaaayyyyy too hot. i'm always the first one to for the hot and spicy, but no one at our table could even eat it. so it was wasted money & food.

probably the one really bad thing aboutturtlemountain is parking is absolutely ridiculous. not so bad when the other local businesses around it are closed and you can use their parking, but during the day when they would let theturtlemountain crowd spill over to their parking lots - forget it and go somewhere else for lunch.

best burgers in town. i love any of their burgers smothered with green chili (this is a must!). their jalapeno burger is my favorite; i always get it smothered with green chili--their green chili is amazing!

their buns stay crisp so even when the burger is smothered with green chili the bun doesn't get soggy.

other places in town have jalapeno burgers or let you smother their burgers in green chili but they're still not as good asturtlemountain.

also, their root beer and cream soda are awesome!

nothing special. after reading reviews here and looking at the menu online i was really excited to go toturtlemountain. we started out with the calamari appetizer which was pretty good. i ordered the ojo caliente pizza and my husband ordered the burger. when my pizza came it wasn't spicy at all and i am pretty sure they are using pre-made pizza crust. my husbands burger was a pre-formed patty (like the ones from sam's club) and cafeteria french fries. we ordered a sampler of beer and all of them were hoppy, even the brown ale. our waitress was friendly but hardly ever around. we were finished with our food for approximately twenty minutes before we even got a chance to ask for the check. i would be more understanding of the service issues if we had gone on a busy night but we went in the middle of the afternoon on a weekday
i am not planning to return toturtlemountain and wouldn't recommend it.

great place!. on the advice of a local friend 6 of us visitedturtlemountain. it was great! they had a modest selection of house brews that received good reviews from all who ordered. i had one of their calzones and it was excellent. great dough and excellent toppings were the cornerstone of this but their marinara really set it apart!
