deep fried bacon, nasty!. the quantity and quality of tony's is an urban legend of the tony's before the birch run mall was built, when "jibber" used to run it. after jibber retired the place went down hill. yes, there are largeportionsof bland, poorly prepared food because they charge a lot for the item a person orders.
one example of how the quality of food has gone down hill is the steak sandwich which is what tony's is noted for. years ago, when a person ordered a steak sandwich, a person got a large portion of meat between normal size slices of italian bread. now when a person orders a steak sandwich, the person gets huge slices of italian bread and hidden between the slices is a small portion of meat. if you want a good quality steak sandwich avoid the br tony's and stop at one of the other tony's. each tony's in independently owned and i recommend the tony's on gratiot in saginaw and grampa tony's in bay city. the br tony's is a tourist trap that should be avoided.
