tipplers tap offers great beers in a unique quiet environment, unfortunately my experience came with dirty tables and a cold shoulder and poor manners for a larger group.

the food was interesting only on paper and didn't offer much for the pallet. over all i'd give tipplers a 9 for the beer and a 3 for everything else.

great, easy (speak easy, even?) relaxed. that's what i loved about my visit last night. it was my birthday and husband and i were scratcjhing our heads as to where to go. we realised we are tired of the old sit down dinner thing, whether the food is good, reasonable or bad, we just have come to find it boring. eldest daughter said, let's go to tipplers taps. perfect, loved the relaxed informal atmosphere, the retro game machines. i can't drink beer, but they had small but comprehensive wine menu. i guess i really appreciated it due to just having been to us on holidays and it is the style of casual burger joints over there. i think it is a winner, on many levels. the food menu, just so different to what a lot of stock standards are doing. the food itself simple, yes not your healthy salads or arty farty "gourmet, or so the chefs think" fare, but, it's burgers, onion rings, chicken wings that are beautifully spiced, made from scratch. those foods i just mentioned, have been so manufactured in the last 20-30 years, with ott commercial spices, that i think possibly a whole generation or two don't know how good they can be.
if i have one critism from last nights dinner, it was the serving of bread with the bowl of chilli. i think it needs lots of thin slices of the supplied bread, toasted or lots of small tortilla chips, served on the side.
but other than that very small detail, this place is great.

great place to socialise and try a few new beers!. went to tippler's with a few friends on a saturday night and had a great time. in a nice quiet spot in teneriffe so there's plenty of parking if you plan to drive. if you haven't been before the bar staff is friendly enough to give you a taste of all the beers on tap. service was excellent, as well as the beers. the foods was also very good, flavoursome, filling and cheap! most of the hot dogs, sandwiches were around $9 and you can get a bucket of wings for only $10! there's plenty of seating as well. just letting people know this place does close around 10:30pm on a saturday night, i'm assuming because it's in a residential area. i would highly recommend this place anytime of the week for any occasion.

we had heard various whispers of how awesome tippler’s tap was, and with the phrases “dude food” and “craft beer bar” being thrown around, we decided to throw the calorie counting out the window and get there pronto for a midweek diet meltdown.

excellent little spot. this is a great little spot and brisbane is lucky to have it! always interesting beer choices and knowledgable staff. food could be argued to be a bit over priced but it is tippler's tap, not tippler's oven so ....

its great to be able to order some wings or sliders once you get a bit tipsy.

really good work guys, keep it up!

the beer and the staff were amazing. food below par. tasted cheap and from a can apart from the pork belly sliders, they were yum. would definitely head back but not to eat.

went there for a friends birthday last night.

it's not really my type of place but they had an extensive range of beers and i'm
sure beer lovers would appreciate this .

wine list was average but this isn't their target market .

onion rings and chicken were great . servings are large so share between a few for a snack.

friendly staff that managed to move us from inside ( where it was hot and stuffy and we all had sweat pouring off us even though apparently the air conditioner was set to 11 degrees ) after about an hour.

my tip request to sit outside . good for a beer to catch up with mates on a sunday arvo .

response to jeremy smith. hi jeremy,
carl is my name, i'm the manager down at tippler's tap.
firstly i would like to let you know that i'm sorry your visit to tippler's wasn't as pleasant as you'd hoped for.
as we are only very young (4 weeks old) feedback from our customers is very important to us.
i can't reverse time or change the experience that you've already had, however, i would like to take this opportunity to invite you back to give us another go as we've had a great deal of positive feedback so far and we're pretty happy with and very proud of what we have on offer.
i can assure you that the chicken wings are not re-heated from the night before, when we structured our menu we invested a great deal of time and effort into sourcing the best possible produce for our dishes as we strive to do the best we can in every aspect of our business.
in regards to the pricing of our beer, we focus on beers that are brewed with premium ingredients and great attention to detail, these beers are generally brewed in much smaller batches than the more mainstream beers available and as goes the story with most things - better quality often costs a little more money, we believe it is worth it. our cheapest glass of beer is only $5 and we do not have a glass of anything on offer that is close to being $35, our most expensive glass of beer is $15 (385ml) - this beer is an imperial stout that was aged in an islay whisky barrel and comes in at 12.4%abv, this beer cost a lot of money to produce which is why it isn't the cheapest beer around, it is honestly one of the best beers i've ever tried and to the craft beer drinker it is worth every cent.
brian, the owner of tippler's actually hales from chicago himself and lived the first 30 years of his life there, he is very passionate about ensuring the chicago themed dishes on the menu are as close as possible to the real deal, sometimes this is a little tricky as not all ingredients used in chicago for these dishes are readily available in australia. we are not claiming to be an american style bar, we are a craft beer bar with a food menu that has a strong chicago influence.
jeremy, i do appreciate your feed back and like i said, i would love to see you back for another visit sometime.
if you would like to discuss this further please contact me via email on carl@tipplerstap.com.au.

chilled with no pretense the front deck feels as thought you could be sitting out the front of a mates patio. walk past the kitchen pass & into the bar out back to enjoy the a/c & alcoves with loads more seating. dry rub chicken wings are a winner & are a large compared to other wing plates i've seen, good sauce not too over powering. $20 for a mix of 5 slider options is good value however bread could have been fresher (saturday lunch). will order the wings again & try the beef roll next visit.

don't bother....... cheapest glass (not schooner) of beer $8.00
most expensive glass of beer $35.00
cheapest bottle of red or white wine $39.00

food - god help me!
chicken wings that looked like they had been reheated from the night before, you know when the chicken bones go dark..the blue cheese sauce had no flavour f blue cheese
onion rings and chips were nice
5 little burgers, nice flavour, buns seemed stale
grandmas chilli - please, if you dont know how to cook, don't offer it. what chilli? there was no clean flavours, it was a dark pool of mud. oh, and the "organic" sour dough bread was so dry and tastless.

service - - ummm, well they dropped off plates off food, and then picked them up without a smile, an acknowledgement we even existed.

what is it with australian restaurants and bars that specialise in bad food, bad service, and expensive booze...

if you are going to open an amercian style bar, take the time and visit the usa and learn how ell they do it from the food and always great service...

don't waste your time or money...

awesome. the food was great – i had sliders, pork belly which was amazing, haloumi with beetroot relish and hamburger with a garlic? sauce, and my partner has the chili. everything came nice and quickly, and was yum! the bartender was very knowledgeable and steered us towards great drink choices – cider for me and beer for my partner. the atmosphere is nice and relaxed as well, with nice big tables.

fantastic – i’ll be back!

great beer bar!. spent a lazy arvo here yesterday with a few friends. good selection of tap beers. we tired the sliders and chicken wings, both really really tasty. recommended to anyone in brisbane chasing a good beer and feed at a reasonable price.

malternative drinking, hop on over. a ever-changing line-up of local and international brews across their 11 taps, including an old fashioned hand-pump for good measure.

the american style food is a treat, especially the sliders, buffalo wings and onion rings.

the staff are ok too i suppose. ;)

so sweet!. brisbane is screaming out for places like this.
cheap, hearty, super-tasty food mixed with an abundance of hand-crafted beers on tap.... heaven.

owner is a chicago local and his attention to detail when creating this epic man-cave really outshines alot of the big rubbish watering holes brisbanites has become accustomed to.

well done fella!
