tipo 00

been here twice and just adore thepastahere. the flavours are really original and not the typical you'll find in the usual joints. the polenta sticks are also quite tasty. a bit pricey but the quality of ingredients and the flavour makes it well worth the value

finally was able to get a booking here and it didn’t disappoint! it was all delicious and the ambience was great!
i was really looking forward to the squid inpastaand and i wasn’t the biggest fan, but the gnocchi was hands down the best gnocchi i’ve ever had! amazing

finally got to dine here after hearing all the good things about this place.pastawas fresh and delicious, well lived to their reputation. but the entree was pretty average which was the let down part.

always, always, always a delight. we have come here at least 3 times a year for the past few years because you can't go wrong with any of the dishes. come in winter and you get to have truffle risotto :)

maybe i expect too much resulting the experience is not that as impressive as i anticipate. the service is good though. and it did attract many foodies. it represents one of the bestpastarestaurant in australia i think they should deliver better dishes.

well sorted menu, cozy atmosphere, nice dinning experience, but not one of the best squid inkedpastai have tried so far. tips: booking is highly encouraged or come early to be seated.

came here for a dinner on a saturday afternoon. we thought at 4pm, we won’t have to wait - but we definitely thought wrong! the food was well worth the wait- definitely one of the best pastas if not the bestpastawe’ve had in melbourne. the squid ink was delicious!

food is amazing, but i wouldn’t recommend a solo visit. before your visit, highly recommend to go through their menu first. my dish is amazing!!!!!!!! bestpastaever

great littlepastabar! cosy and delicious and really well priced. hard to get in due to no bookings and its popularity . their dessert tipomisu is so good.

tip 00 really changed the way i looked at orderingpastain a restaurant. they say "why order something you can cook at home." well their is no way you could execute any dish at home the same way these guys do. the final touches are exquisite. the truffle rissotto is the game. don't bother double checking the menu before you go, the specials are always fuego.

for someone who's critical of italian food in melbourne, this was the most amazing experience i have ever had. even better than thepastai had in rome, florence and venice.

i finally managed to come to tipo with my boyfriend after my plans last year were cancelled by lockdown. as we had a big breakfast, we ordered the tuna tartare, squid ink tagliolini and tipomisu to share. the tuna tartare was very light and although refreshing, it was a bit boring. the famous squid ink tagliolini was delicious, i really enjoyed how the flavours blended and thepastawas perfect. as we shared it, they took the time to split it into two plates, which i thought was really nice. i loved tipomisu as it was so decadent, even though it wasn't quite tiramisu-like. i also got the mocktail of the day which was really good.
our waitress was annoyed that we ordered so little and constantly suggested that we should get more. whilst i understand she may have wanted to earn more for the restaurant, it wasn't necessary to be so pushy, especially when we made it clear we could only eat so much. besides that, the service was in line with what is expected at a nicer restaurant.

what i loved: the complementary foccacia.. yum!! starters- arancini balls and king prawns with anchovy... delectable, perfect portion sized, perfectly balanced, just wow. main- wagyu pappadelle, perfectly cooked pasta, again perfect portion size with a good amount ofpastato meat ratio!! just so comforting. i really enjoyed this.

what i didn't love:
main- spanner crab linguine. for some reason there was an overpowering bitterness that reminded me of bitter melon which meant that i couldn't really taste the sweetness of the crab (which i could see there was a generous amount of). there were a few bits of slightly undercookedpastatoo. so unfortunately didn't quite like this dish.

overall, i had a good experience at tipo. service was very accommodating yet efficient (important if you're parking in the city on a weekday!) though one of our dishes wasn't really to our liking the other dishes made up for it and reminded us why tipo 00 is one of our favouritepastaplaces.

🍒 food - the food here was great! i’ve heard a lot of good things about tipo00 and the food definitely lived up to its expectations. special highlights were the ox tongue, risotto w/ morton bay bug, squid inkpastaand tiramisu. all round, the pastas were cooked al dente and tasted lovely. whilst a bit expensive, definitely a good place to visit for some qualitypastaand when you want to treat yourself every now and then.

🍈 service - the waiters were super nice and friendly and made sure we were well looked after. unfortunately though, the kitchen service was quite slow today and we waited almost an hour between our entrees and our first mains.

🥑 ambience - the place is quite small and cute with an extensive wine wall. a great place to go with a small group of friends or for a date night.
