solid rating for this little slice of hippie heaven. the atmosphere matches the food, just a great spot to cozy up to a homemade meal served up by an attentive staff. the tenderloin and theburgerwere both sizable and delicious. well done hippies... well done.

flat out, some of the best burgers in town. you are not going to a fine dining establishment. you're going to aburgerjoint. they have some good salads, very nice specials that change every night, and dinner plans. but their burgers are great. they have a tuesday night tenderloin sandwich that you can get fried or grilled. i got a grilled, and it is wonderful. the hamburger is outstanding quality, done over an open grill, and really is great. you can get pretty much any topping you would ever won on aburgerthere. the hamburgers are 10 ounces, cooked to order, and flat out fantastic. i highly suggest this place for aburgerjoint.

stopped in for lunch on wednesday afternoon. it was very busy, but we got right in and sat down. waitstaff very friendly and attentive. we had orders of chicken tenders, the magic mushroom burger, and the can you dig it burger. the food came quickly and was delicious. i ordered theburgermedium, and it was perfectly cooked. the edges were crispy, and it was juicy and very flavorful. i would definitely be happy to go back.

dining room cramped and tiny.
service was a bit slow.
they were out of the special of the day (i think it was fish and chips)

the burgers are giant... so big you could almost split with someone.  all sides are a la carte which is weird.  you almost need to go with 2 people so you can each get yourburgerand share a side.

we will go back for the burgers   the sides are just food service fried food so they are forgetable and not worth the money... yo won't miss them.

great food and friendly service!
we are in town for the final four and staying nearby.
we had the chong's chili cheeseburgerwith onion rings and the hendricks chick chicken sandwich with a side salad. theburgerwas huge and juicy, had to eat it with a knife and fork. the homemade french salad dressing was terrific. gina was an awesome waitress!

i never write reviews.... ...but i am making an exception for tie dye grill. this place serves as good aburgeras you will find in indy, as good or better than bub's in my opinion. it's a little cramped. and doesn't look like much from the outside, but the burgers will have you coming back. i had the zz top burger, which has onion crisps, pepper jack, jalapeños, and chipotle ranch dressing. amazing. theburgeris a 10 oz pattie, juicy with a charcoal flavor. honestly next time i go, i will probably split it with my wife, that's how big it is. i live 10 minutes away and can't believe i have never been here before, but will be back soon.

update: so pricey! be warned, 8-10 for a sandwich with no sides! salads are basic and boring! but seem fresh. the brownie was too cake like for us! the soups and stews are hit and miss! however, they have the best hamburger i have ever had! will never order aburgeranywhere else!

one of my new favs! friendly service. great food. i asked them to make my reuben a "rachel reuben", with cole slaw instead of "sourkrap" and they were happy to....one of the best corned beef sandwiches i have had! the onions were pretty good. we went on tenderloin tuesdays and they should have the tenderloin everyday! it was one of the best i've had. thick , tender, not greasy and the pork wasn't dry. salads are pretty boring (iceberg lettuce tomato n onion only). next time i go back i will try soups.

good but.... it was our first visit to the tie dye grill. small, but cool place with nice staff. i ordered the chong'sburger(served open face with chili on top). theburgeritself was very good but the chili was lousy. i scraped it off. it obviously had been frozen and thawed as needed. my wife had the fish & chips. the breading was good but the fish were soggy as though they had been fried in oil that wasn't hot enough. the french fries and cole slaw were good. when we go back, we'll order just straight up cheeseburgers which looked great. there were also a lot of people getting salads which also looked good.

best reuben in the midwest. located at the front of a strip mall, you may overlook it if you were not careful. the décor is very hippie-ish with walls clad with 60's and 70's memorabilia, and the table cloths are all, you guess it, tie-dyed. the layout of the place is not like any other restaurant you may have visited, but makes for a friendly atmosphere.

i am a reuben fanatic so i usually order the rooperts classic reuben. the sizable reuben is sloppy with sauerkraut, 1000 island dressing squeezing out the sides, swiss cheese, and corned beef. the griddled, light rye bread-clad reuben is the best i have ever had, and i've eaten reubens in new york.

on my last visit there i finally pulled myself away from the reuben and tried the tie dye jack burger, it was an open facedburgerserved on an english muffin topped with lightly breaded onion crisps, bacon, and a creamy cheese sauce that reminded me of cheese whizz. once again, i have to say it was once of the bestburgeri have ever eaten. theburgeritself had a slight charred taste, but not over whelming, and was perfectly grilled to medium.

the staff is always very friendly and the place stays busy, which says something to me. the tie dye grill has become one of my favorite eateries and whenever i am on the east side, i make it a point to stop in.
