tia betty blue's

tia betty's has to be one of the most frustrating dining experiences in burque. the food is delicious and consistency is not. 3 out of 5 drive thru/pick up orders have been made incorrectly or missing food. sunday morning running errands, beautiful morning,placea call in order at 9:15 since i hadn't been to my neighborhood splurge in a while since my order is always wrong....order isn't ready until 9:40....driving home thinking this is really going to be worth the wait. bacon forgotten!!! how can you forget the bacon?! i sure was charged for it. so annoying. called the manager and he offered to pay for my breakfast next time. honestly, i doubt i will be back at this point. whenever my coworkers want to go, i say no let's do copper canyon instead....bummer to an almost perfect morning. womp womp. 😒 the flip side is the people are generally very nice and the food is freaking good but starting to question my patronage. my recommendation: shut the drive thru down if you just can't get it right. 👌🏽consistently and service can ruin some tasty grub!!

tia's was one of our favorite, five star locations until recently. we were incredibly sad to discover that tia betty blue's no longer dedicates a waffle maker to their gluten-free waffles. as my partner has (is) celiac, this is a huge deal. this was one of only two places he could safely get a waffle. their food is great and he especially loves the azteca coffee, but it is no longer worth driving across town now that the waffles aren't safe. :(

if you don't have to worry about cross contamination with gluten, thisplaceis amazing. the prices may seem high, but the quantity of food you get for those prices is extensive. everything i have ever tried there was tasty.

i can't began to explain how good thisplaceis. the friendly staff, the good prices, the large portions are great for sharing, and it's old house atmosphere makes you feel like your having a meal at home. the one downside, it's too popular! there's been a few times waiting over an hour but we'll worth the wait! the wait is not anyone's fault by the way, just gets busy.

wrong order. well i heard such great things about thisplaceand decided to try them this morning. after waiting almost 45 min for two breakfast burritos to go, i get home and did not get what i ordered. i'm not happy at all.

bad service, gross food, and horrible ambiance! my sister and i decided to try thisplacefor the first time. we ordered on right after the other. we waited about 30min to get my food and another 20min to get her food. when i got my food my order came out wrong. i sent it back and continued to wait another 30min. their blue corn tortillas and flower tortillas are store bought and their chili's are far from delightful. bad food, bad service, and horrible ambiance.

took a chance - glad i did. last minute decision to stop and try thisplaceout. both my daughter & i thought it was, "just another mexican food restaurant - like we need one here." i was pleasantly surprised. staff are hip, urban, patient and upbeat. indoor/outdoor seating. slightly busy, but not a long wait time. not your typical burrito joint. everything made fresh - from fresh ingredients. they even make their own granola! had the asparagus sandwich and a dry cucumber soda. the food was very tasty & filling. i am a big fan of their potato salad. soooo good!

i had mixed feelings about tia betty blues. they were out of many things prior to lunch and that's never cool. the burritos were too expensive for how small they were but they were quite tasty. the combination of an awkward seating arrangement and baskets inplaceof plates made the experience semi uncomfortable. alright i just convinced myself, despite the obvious hard work going into the place, i didn't like it.

new mexican food....fast --not!. the ew place, new decor and new signs got my wife and me to try thisplacesince we were in a hurry. the big blue sign on the outside says, "new mexican food ... fast." the line only had 3 people in front of us when we got there... but took 10 minutes to get to our order. got our fountain sodas (vice the high-priced bottles) and immediately noticed they were flat and over-saturated with the flavoring. the gal in the kitchen took them back to refill them after she changed the co2 bottle. 5 minutes later she came back and offered a bottled soda because they were out of co2. ok, not so bad. however 30 minutes later, we still had no food. i stuck my head in the kitchen and asked where our order was and she said it was up next (despite having the people that were 5 folks behind us in the line already eating their meals). so, i asked for it to go. 5 minutes later, we finally got our food. i dropped her off at work and i went back to mine and wouldn't you know, my wife sends me a text saying she must've grabbed my food cause she got what i ordered... nope, i got mine... they just made 2 identical boxes of food despite my wife special ordering completely different with their gluten free chili and no cheese. so, there... i tried it and will never be back. 50 minutes is not fast and the only flavor in the food was the fritos and overpowering paprika of the carne asada.

a neighborhood jewel. the food is excellent, fresh and delicious; the red chili is particularly good. the menu is full of inventive, quirky and attractive choices and although i've only tried the breakfasts, there are numerous, tempting sandwiches and wraps on the lunch list. service is quick and friendly and the vibe is an interesting mix of hip and homey. i really like thisplaceand will return often.

happy! i came in this weeekend, had the breakfast sandwich w/ green, the calibicitas - really good, and a decaf americano - also delicious. i live nearby so i'm back again today. very happy to have a tasty, reasonably priced newplacein the neighborhood.

eh.... had lunch today after reading gil's blog. usually he doesn't steer me wrong, but this time i have to say i've been steered into mediocre. i had the curry chicken sandwich. here's the positive: the fresh baked whole wheat bread was good, the jicama sticks were great and a pleasantly unsual offering for a side. here's the negative besides the chicken bone i bit into: the curry chicken was terribly bland, the curry flavor was overpowering and imbalanced, the "grapes" were few and far between and the whole concoction needed a bit more salt/garlic/something. my friend ordered the tamale boat and she reported the same thing: chile overpowereing and imbalanced and not enough salt/garlic/something. with each bite we were both hoping the flavor would develop, but ultimately left disappointed. with all the good reviews on the blue corn waffle i'm tempted to give thisplaceone more chance, but the customer service was not attentive eough for me to care to give them anymore business.
