the service here is amazing! the sweet tea is a little different but very tasty. the salmon and cream cheese witheggsis just to die for. i love eating the south west combination is just absolutely delicious. the warm tortilla is the perfect vessel for the black beans, eggs, and pico de gallo, cheddar cheese, and sour cream. my mouth drools before i even get in the door. the prices are not cheap, but they are very affordable. i have also tried the waffles here, they are thick, but fluffy. i love the addition of the powdered sugar, you barely need any syrup with these waffles. i would suggest the chicken and waffles. thumbs up definitely makes a great savory play on the traditional southern fare. if you are looking for a wonderful treat i would suggest the salmon and cream cheese eggs. it is delicate, smooth, and just down right delicious. the food here is served with lots of love and a lot of butter. everything that i have eaten from here is surprisingly awesome!

homemade preserves...o my. we got lucky and found this place on the way to the airport (thanks iphone). there was a short wait, but they had a few seats up front for you. we got seated and were greeted by our server who seemed like he was genuinely happy to see us and was friendly and attentive throughout our meal. the menu was full of great sounding things, but we were there for chicken and waffles. the waffle was delicious, the best i've had in a while. the chicken was the strip kind, very juicy and the breading was crispy with a great flavor. theeggswere cooked just like i like them, very runny. then they had homemade peach preserves, it made a perfect combination dropped on top of some savory chicken and fluffy waffle. there were no complaints from our whole table. when pass through again, this will be where we grab breakfast.

thumbs up for thumbs up. the only time i ever crave breakfast is on sunday morning, and this place certainly hits the spot! it is the perfect combination of old fashioned southern cooking and upscale,. eclectic dining in a retro setting at an affordable price. whew, if you think that was a mouthful, wait till you see the menu!
there are so many things to choose from here, from traditionaleggsand bacon, fluffy waffles, and huge omelettes to fried catfish, steak andeggsand the ultimate breakfast skillet. check the blackboard-the daily specials are fab as well. head's up on a few things:
don't skip the homefries/hash browns-they are cooked en mass on the griddle with heaps of black pepper, sweet peppers and onions and are truly yummy-they could be a meal unto themselves, and are the starring ingredient in the skillet meals.
vegetarians have much to choose from here: there is great soy sausage and several veggie specific choices here, along with a vegetarian board special daily.
go early: they work on first come-first served here and on sunday, especially in the 4th ward, the line starts at 10am...it moves quickly, and they have newspapers for your waiting pleasure...besides, it will take you that long to decide what you'll have when you do get seated.
most importantly-go with friends! there are so many good things on the menu here, you need to go with friends, order lots, and share!!! you can easily have your own brunch buffet here with just a few selections.
if you are solo-sit at the counter, engage in conversation with the cool ones around you (that's where the really cool regulars sit)and just take in the scene...and finally, ladies: ask for the waiter with the dreadlocks...
