the wooden whisk

place gets busy with locals on the weekend. coffee is always good. i had the french toast and that did not disappoint. keep an eye on the speciala, since they change on regular basis. waiters are polite and helpful. our food arrived pretty quickly. will be back to try more next time.

went there on a saturday afternoon and ordered the lamb salad. it was the best lamb salad i’ve ever had so far. lamb was perfectly cooked and veggies had a bit of sweet taste. i got sweet tooth so it is just perfect.
i will surely go there again.

their green smoothie was really good. it has the right balance of ingredients. grilled salmon was good too. the place has a relaxing atmosphere. they have good customer service, all the staff are smiling and friendly.

the wooden whisk is another popular cafe in st leonards. i ordered grilled salmon fillet with quinoa & poached egg and soy chocolate. mum ordered the lean & green bowl and cappuccino.

i really enjoyed the food at the wooden whisk, which has great value for the food you order. we had the cheeseburger ($21) and the lamb salad ($23), and both were very filling and delicious. i love the salad, especially with the tiny bits of pomegranate scattered over the dish. i had to pick out the mint leaves though, but the rest of the salad was super tasty. the cheeseburger was good too, but perhaps a bit too much bacon was used and it overpowered the rest of the burger.

the drinks were both great, and i would definitely recommend coming here for a delicious meal with nice ambience and friendly staff!

açai bowl and pulled pork egg benedits was my favourite, the coffee is strong and roasted well. friendly staff and nice environment, great for brunch on a saturday morning.

i had been to wooden whisk a few years ago but it left a good impression on me so when my friend suggested we catch up in st leonards - i immediately recommended the wooden whisk. it was almost 12pm on this particular saturday and wooden whisk was buzzing and busy. the rest of st leonards is really quiet on the weekend.

saturday morning brunch! finally made it after three weekends trying to visit on a sunday. beware- they are not open on sunday!

friendly service and promptly seated.
we ordered drinks first and food second.
food came super fast!! way before our drinks.
so by the time i wanted to have my hot chocolate it was only luke warm.

the bacon wrap was stuffed with delicious ingredients.

the croque madame toaster was uber cheesy and very filling.

as per usual for sydney brunches/breakfasts/meals, portions were huge. i would recommend sharing two between three if you’re not that hungry.

the hot chocolate and the mocha were so so so good. love that chocolate hit.

can’t wait to be back again for another visit :)

again gem on the busy street of st leonards.i found it the place brought zomato and we went there for brunch. the hot chocolate reminded me of melted chocolate. the best one i have ever had. i ordered it twice. then we had pasta for the mains i ordered for a ravioli. it was yummilicious. the service and the ambience was great too.

wooden whisk is undoubtedly one of my absolute favorite cafe.

to write the least would be to ask you to make the trek up to st leos for a meal. you would not regret. from everything in the menu to the service is an absolute delight.

the brioche french toast is like no other. and the lamb and quinoa salad never lets you down. lamb is perfectly cooked every single time.

the coffee is to perfection. if there was a way i could give more stars than one this is the place i would rate.

ordered:
1. lychee zing frappe - refreshing drink, wish they used proper straw as the paper straw was disintegrating towards the end and makes it hard to sip the drink
2. cappuccino - good smooth non bitter coffee
3. french toast - really good french toast, better than most french toasts i have tasted in sydney, it is not too sweet and retains the egg flavour, i did not use much of the sugar syrup provided on the side, the dish as it is has the right amount of sweetness. most french toast in sydney cafes have cake like texture which i don’t like, i prefer french toast as a breakfast dish rather than a dessert dish.
4. sautéed mushroom - great flavour, i ordered hard poached egg and it was cooked too dry, i have been to cafes that cooked hard poached eggs beautifully.

will i go back: yes, not only do they have good food, their service was amazingly friendly and efficient

the fresh orange juice was great. unfortunately we were very disappointed with the service as we were told that we weren’t allowed avocado as a side even though it was on the menu as a side? very upsetting and disappointing.

i ordered the pulled pork eggs benedict and a cappuccino.

my personal preference is i don’t like my coffee too strong and bitter. this cappuccino was perfect for me! the coffee was light and tasty.

the eggs benney!
i’ve had eggs benedict with sourdough, with hash, and now with pulled pork. it was delicious! personal preference is probably still sourdough, but the pork worked well with the hollandaise sauce, the red cabbage, and the green apple was actually such a good combination (first time having apple with my eggs benney).

definitely coming back to try some more!

the coffee was ok but the “chilli lemon kale with tahini hummus, poached eggs on quinoa toast” was so good!
the waitress was ok, i have to call them a few times before they come and serve me 😌
after all i gave 4 rating for the food 👍

popped in during the week for lunch and ordered the lamb shoulder salad. it was fantastic. highly recommend and would definitely come back for it!
