there's something magical about this place. maybe because it was originally built in 1921 as an exotic car dealership for the wealthy. and then became a barclay's bank in 1927. and then finally the woseley in 2003.
of the 3 times i've been here for brunch, it's always left me a very content feeling. the food and service has always been the upmost quality and the service is impeccable. no complaints in either dept.
i don't even find the prices exorbitant forlondonstandards...just don't do the conversion.
this place is highly recommended if you really want to dine thelondonway.

i'm a great admirer of chris corbin and jeremy king and what they did particularly with le caprice and j sheeky were textbook case studies in thelondonrestaurant market. their comeback to the capital probably post the end of a non compete period is anot

summary: traditional european cafe in mayfair that is bound to impress. great for a bit of celebrity spotting. i like to to think i know thelondonrestaurant scene pretty well. i make a conscious effort to try them all – the trendy new restaurants that seems to pop up regularly around town as well as those oldlondoninstitutions that have been here long before i was. that being said, it still baffles me how i have never been to the wolseley.

at the weekend my brother and i headed to the wolseley in mayfair for breakfast. they're famous for their breakfasts, but you have to book quite far in advance to get a table. we got there for 11am and were seated in the middle of the huge grand restaurant. i went for the fresh orange juice with sweet french toast, and a poached egg on the side, while my brother had the pancakes with berries.  my french toast was absolutely delicious; the toast soaked in maple syrup and berries, and the egg perfectly runny! i love the wolseley's food, but it's very big, very loud, and very busy. it's also quite touristy and the tables are so close together you can hear every detail of the conversation next to you. despite the flaws, i do like it, and i think it's a nice place for a special occasion just for the pure grandeur and delicious food. however the best sweet french toast inlondonstill goes to the providores in my eyes! find me: twitter | email | facebook | bloglovin  | pinterest  | google  |

visited here on mother's day with the family. exceptionally beautiful seating area and top service. all the dishes were great - especially enjoyed the avocado, courgette & superfoods salad. the dressing was delicious and added that much more to a simple dish. prices are quite high - but nothing crazy forlondonpricing. will definitely visit again to try their breakfast / desserts.
highly recommended, especially for a simple lunch :)

this is a lovely restaurant set in an old car showroom. i know it doesn't sound too glamorous till you get down there yourself and feel the old victorian magic oflondonwith there out of the world amazing tea and lots to eat. high ceiling with hanging chandelier and black and white tiled floor gave it a very royal feel.
a menu to die for and amazing collection of fine wines and tea. excellent place for breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea.
afternoon tea is jaw dropping and a collective 'oooooh' when they bring out the tower of sandwiches, cakes, scones, cheese cakes, chocolate cake, eclairs and the list goes on .......😍😍😍😍
we had a wonderful afternoon champagne tea and delicious bites.
avocado croustade is a must try here which is unique and really delicious, mashed avocado on a crispy millefeuille-like base. ebb benedict and pancakes were amazing with fresh fruits.
hot chocolate was good too!
the atmosphere was buzzed and the service was exceptional.
a must try place inlondonto experience the very traditional english afternoon tea which is so royal in experience and taste ❤️.

a lovely establishment just close to the ritz, full of old world charm, we were greeted by two gentlemen after entering and shown immediately to our table. the menu for breakfast is charming. we had the fish cakes and poached eggs which were really good. the fish cakes were really tasty ! i had the deviled kidneys with crispy bacon oh yes they hit the spot. a little spicy well cooked and just the right amount of sauce. i would highly recommend you to have a breakfast here with some of the finerlondonfolk lol

i had been to the wolseley for lunch, dinner and even breakfast but i had guests in town and decided to take them to high tea as it is a more affordable option inlondoncompared to most hotel afternoon teas priced over £50. the scones were delicious and the pastries were good. it won't blow you away like high tea at claridges but still a lovely experience.

i was inlondonfor a short holiday with my husband and decided to try the wolseley. best decision ever. the atmosphere in really calm yet not dull. impeccable service from the staff. although, the food and drinks are on the pricey end, because of our pound: south african rand exchange rate, it really is all worth it. can't wait to go back!😊😋

whilst grand and one of the must-tries of london, it is totally free of pretence or stuffiness. the atmosphere is light-hearted and buzzing, with the restaurant full of people up for an ultimatelondonexperience.

tables are packed in cosily, adding to the 'buzz' of the restaurant. waiters are friendly and aren't afraid of having a jolly with their customers, whilst never slacking on service or professionalism.

the wolseley is particularly good for steak and seafood, although it is not too pompous to serve the usual favourites such as hamburgers, kedgeree or navarin of lamb.

for a fun finish, try an ice cream coupe; perfect for sharing, and exploring an exciting combination of flavours. the lucian is luscious; pistachio, hazelnut and nougat ice cream are drizzled with whipped cream and a butterscotch sauce, providing a nutty, soft sweetness to the end of your meal.

whilst certainly not cheap, it is worth a visit to try accessible meals done in fanciful ways within a warm, buzzing ambience.

the wolseley has only been open since 2003, but has steadily become an institution on thelondondining scene. i’ve wanted to go for years and have heard many friends raving about dinners and brunches. i finally went for afternoon tea with a friend recently and thankfully was as good as i hoped.
