yuk duck and no recourse even though they admit there is something wrong. after waiting more than half an hour, our meal including my peninsula duck (mornington peninsula red wine braised duck leg, maple pear, red hill blue cheese, pecan and leaves), arrived to table. the duck was cooked well however the 7 pieces of duck skin mixed about my meal was disgustingly big, oily, flabby and fatty. it looked like steamy blobs of dark grey yuk tucked about my meal. made me feel so sick just looking at it that i had to get the waitress to take it away in a napkin. she said that she could take back the whole plate however after waiting for so long i was hungry and the rest of the plate did not look too bad after i fished out those flabby pieces. towards the end of our meal a customer just behind us also ordered the duck however the waitress told him that it had been taken off the menu as the duck 'wasn't good'. imagine my surprise then when i went to pay and the waitress (who had taken the duck skin away) said that the chef said that that is the way duck skin is cooked, indirectly telling me it was my problem if i didn't like it. i told her i had never eaten duck skin like that before however she ignored me and we were charged the full amount without a word. i know it's hard running a small business however you don't bite the hand that feeds you, surely. other than that, our meals were quite good however this lack of care really spoiled our opinion of the winey cow.
