came to thevicon a busy friday night - perks phone chargers available for those of us cursed with a poor iphone battery, massive beer garden, people had dogs which is cool and the food is pretty top quality for a pub feed. it did take a while for the food too cook, so if you've got plans elsewhere order early. it's located close to the comedy theatre which is what most people are there for.

thevicon the park is extremely dog friendly and was highly recommended to us by others that have fur babies. no dogs allowed inside, but there is a rather large balcony where your pup is welcome.

we arrived early for lunch on a sunday. i felt it best to try and beat the crowds as thevicon the park have a doggy badge draw on sunday afternoons. for $15 you fur baby gets a bandanna, a numbered dog tag and entries into the weekly draw. basically they become part of thevicdoggie possie (my words not theirs).

we had cold ciders on the brain, and with promises of a large outdoor area which is dog-friendly – our hungry and tired trio made our way down to thevicfor a relaxed pub feed. i’m going to start off by saying that these were the best chicken wings that i have had in over a year – piping hot, soft and moist with the crunchiest coating i have had in a long time. the only drawback here is that i prefer a little more spice in the batter, but if i had my way, there would be more chilli in everything.

nothing better than pub grub for lunch and what better place than thevicin marrickville which is pet friendly while you drink tasty beer and eat tasty food! i had the buttermilk chicken burger with a side of the buttermilk chicken wings and my partner had the pulled pork nachos with jalapeños, everything was a grade and it's our fav spot

thevicon the park is a local corner pub, with a new chef and a fresh new menu, located on the corner of enmore and addison road in marrickville. new head chef kirsten baker says, “we’re keeping some of the favourites like the outdoor spit roasts but at the same time have given the menu an overhaul to offer a more extensive variety of food. and there are a lot more vegetarian options that we’re sure our locals will love.”

i never knew marrickville was such a foodie’s paradise. from smokey meats and amazing yeeros, to endless rows of vietnamese restaurants, marrickville is my new go-to suburb when i’m feeling like trying something new. so thevicon the park faces some stiff competition, especially since they’ve just launched a new menu with a brand new head chef.

with phil living in the general area, we often drive past thevicon our way to the city. however we never thought much of them as they seemed to be just another one of those pubs - not really our scene. however when amy asked us if we were free one thursday night to sample some dishes of the vic's new spring menu, we thought now would be as good as any chance to see exactly what "pub grub" had to offer.

the specials menu is the tits!! plus they do an awesome spin on all the usual pub classics. bar staff are awesome and super friendly, kirsten the head chef is a genius, great vibes out the back on the deck, thevicis perfect for everybody. bloody love this joint!

been living in the area for nearly 4 years and went to thevicfor the first time tonight. the best chicken parma in the inner west, and it was absolutely enormous. great outdoor deck and atmosphere, i'll be back for sure!

continues to shine brighter. this pub has changed hands several times. finally, the direction the current owners and staff are taking it is producing a well rounded, enjoyable place for young and old. it boasts a massive outside deck and car park which is closed off for large events. live entertainment. kid friendly. basketball hoop for some fun. amazing cocktails and a great restaurant. if you can't find something you love about thevicthen you have something wrong with you.

i'm not sure what's happening in the kitchen at the oldvicbut i don't recommend going there on a weekend lunch. we only wanted light bar food but had to wait over an hour for the food. when i asked what was happening, they were not able to tell us a time frame for the food arrival and when my peppers arrived,it was greasy and lukewarm. there was no point ordering anything else as it will take over an hour for replacement. terrible service and terrible food for such a long wait.

i'll be sure to eat something before i go tovicon the park next time.
