came to the vic on a busy friday night - perks phone chargers available for those of us cursed with a poor iphone battery, massive beer garden, people had dogs which is cool and the food is pretty top quality for apubfeed. it did take a while for the food too cook, so if you've got plans elsewhere order early. it's located close to the comedy theatre which is what most people are there for.

this is one of my fav dog friendly venues in sydney especially for a public holiday. everyone congregates in the car park and shoots hoops. super fun atmosphere. i never normally eat here, just drink. one time we had a show at the nearby factory theatre so came here for a good oldpubfeed. the food was very mediocre, i had the barramundi and it tasted dirty. the nachos was good though. so skip the food and just drink!

the merivale takeover doesn't seem to have affected the old decor, funky crowd, and good music (live or otherwise). it may have increased the prices, though. happy hour's good with all beers $5 but, when it ends, some of the prices nearly double. the food's pretty goodpubfood but even the cheapest sausage in a roll is $12.

food: the quality of the food is good and the serving sizes are generous. the dessert menu could be improved with some additional options.

service: the service is always friendly and warm. on certain busy nights (e.g. world cup game night), the bars seem understaffed which can lead to long wait times at the bar.

ambience: thispubhas a good chilled-out vibe and great event calendar. the crowd is a mix of people who seem friendly and the music is diverse. i also love that this venue is dog-friendly!

one of my favourite pubs in the area. great atmosphere, specially during weekends. 
very friendly staff. standardpubfood maybe with a special touch.

husband and i came here to watch the lion's v all blacks game. they had a large projector screen televising the game. needless to say this is a greatpubto watch any sport playing at the time. to eat we shared the bourbon glazed pork ribs with rocket, purple cabbage, raisin, jalapeño & fried cauliflower salad w/ chipotle dipping sauce. yum yum yum! meat falling off the bone, salad was a perfect compliment to the dish. we also ordered a side of fries with rosemary, cumin salt & sour cream mayo. this came in a very large bowl, worth $8. nice! this is a good pub, dog and kids friendly and has a long list of goodpubgrub!

i'm a massive fan of the vic. awesome modern outdoor deck. then the basketball area is great with umbrella's and dog friendly. generally a family friendly pub. they play good tunes with live bands and the food is good forpubstandards. i had the quinoa, goats cheese and pistachio salad. it was beautiful and filling. it was a large serving, however $22 is quite pricey for a salad.

to be honesti always thoughtpubfood was crap unless you were with good company, but this time i was alone and the food here was on par to otherpubplaces. nice flavour mixed with a nice bear and you can't go wrong. definitely a traditional design which was not my liking but again with friends you'll have a blast with loads of activities to do

we had cold ciders on the brain, and with promises of a large outdoor area which is dog-friendly – our hungry and tired trio made our way down to the vic for a relaxedpubfeed. i’m going to start off by saying that these were the best chicken wings that i have had in over a year – piping hot, soft and moist with the crunchiest coating i have had in a long time. the only drawback here is that i prefer a little more spice in the batter, but if i had my way, there would be more chilli in everything.

nothing better thanpubgrub for lunch and what better place than the vic in marrickville which is pet friendly while you drink tasty beer and eat tasty food! i had the buttermilk chicken burger with a side of the buttermilk chicken wings and my partner had the pulled pork nachos with jalapeños, everything was a grade and it's our fav spot

pretty standardpubgrub at the vic. a decent value $12.50 lunch menu and a few blue chip additions in their 'chalkboard' menu - although not much variety and dubious value. we had the buttermilk fried chicken burger with chips ($18) and the warm duck salad ($25). the burger with slaw and guacamole was tasty but messy, fries bog standard. the duck salad with a soft boiled egg on top also was tasty and looked good, but didn't contain a huge amount of duck and most of what was in it was skin.

it had been a little while since we had been to the vic. since our last visit it has improved greatly. we stopped in for a few drinks and some dinner before heading to a show.
great food and excellent range of beer at thispuband very good service.
highly recommend the potato skins which were awesome. all the food being served looked amazing.
we will definitely be going back.

i'm kicked back on the vic's back deck, soaking up the sunshine and enjoying a wine when i catch the moment they first notice each other. i watch their playful interactions heat up before animalistic lust takes over and the pair threaten to consummate in the corner...thankfully, the lovers owners intervene and the frisky pups are separated. from its dog-friendly deck and basketball half-court, to its traditionalpubgrub menu

the specials menu is the tits!! plus they do an awesome spin on all the usualpubclassics. bar staff are awesome and super friendly, kirsten the head chef is a genius, great vibes out the back on the deck, the vic is perfect for everybody. bloody love this joint!
