this absolutely and without question one of the best little pubs i've ever had the pleasure of patronizing. i went here with my family after a visit to the franklin institute and we were very pleasantly surprised by the extremely high quality of bothfoodand drink. everything exceeded our expectations and we will definitely be back here again!

jury is out. tried this place on friday before 4th of july holiday. heatwave must have kept folks at home because this place was deserted. thefoodwas very good and really enjoyed the music. only complaint was that the server was very detached and indifferent. acted sort of like we were a nuisance. this was disappointing especially since there were so few other customers there. not sure if the goodfoodwill over-ride the substandard service.

on one of our many recent rainy weekend days, we stopped by the twisted tail for a late brunch. they just opened in headhouse square and in addition tofoodand drink, offer live blues music and open blues jams, for those of you inclined. they're also a bourbon house so they've got quite the array of liquors! they also feature a charcoal grill in their kitchen and cook most of theirfoodover open heat, whenever possible. of course, they also have beer. the restaurant is really quite big, especially the downstairs. i did not get to check out the upstairs, where the music happens. it's decorately quite tastefully, even with all of the curly tail motif everywhere. it's warm and masculine, with a slightly rustic touch. here's some complimentary bread, one which was a corn bread, and one which was a bourbon based bread, i think. see the curly q of butter? yes
