the tea cosy is definitely a cute quaint place - you choose where you want to sit, and while the flexibility is nice, some guidance would probably be helpful on busy days - we went on a quiet day so it was fine. it’s an interesting concept, and the provision of yarn to knit with while waiting was definitely cool. we ordered the devonshire tea and mixed sandwiches, with an extra jam ($2), and asked for this to be presented on a stand, which they accommodated for. my only problem is that they got our order wrong! we got a plain scone instead of a fruit scone as requested - this is despite confirming our order, and we didn’t realise until after we had already begun eating unfortunately. the scones were served warm - which is always nice! i really dislike when places serve cold scones. these were decent, reasonably sized scones, crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, but not the best i’ve had. i like the assortment of jams available - they have tasters you can try too. not the biggest fan of the cream however - i much prefer the clotted cream from other places. the sandwiches were also quite nice - it’s an interesting presentation having three slices of bread for each finger sandwich, but again nothing spectacular. that being said, the prices were very reasonable so it was worth what we paid. i loved the mixed berry iced tea - it wasn’t too sweet like many iced teas often are, which i appreciate!
