taste bud heaven !. we celebrated my birthday at the tavern last night and enjoyed it immensely .
every item was presented beautifully and was delicious. a treat for the eyes and the mouth.
the waiter was friendly, well mannered , and attentive in every way.
hats off to the chef , our waiter , and the management.

the tavern is my favorite special place to eat downtown.

sunday night family style dinner delicious, but service needs some work. we went in at 5:30 as a four-top with a reservation. our drinks took a long time to be delivered. 3/4 entrees were served about 7 minutes before the 4th entree. one entree was not cooked to order, and another was missing a side dish. i loved the fried chicken, grilled asparagus and cheese grits, but other people at the table were underwhelmed.

i will try this again because of the food. but more servers need to be working on concert nights. it seemed our waiter was overwhelmed with too many tables.

always heard good raves and reviews. went in on a saturday night, not expecting the greatest service. but thought we would have atleast been acknowledged. had a group of 4 and immediately got seated and that was where the "good" service ended. was presented a bottle of water and our drink order was taken.
5 minutes:and nothing
10 minutes:and nothing
15 minutes:and nothing
20 minutes:and nothing
25 minutes:and still nothing...

waited another 5 minutes and our "waitress" still did not even acknowledge our existence. even though she made eye contact multiple times.

all said and done. i will never recommend and hands down was the most awful dining experience in tulsa ever!

no late night eats. went in around 9pm on a saturday night. waitress took out drinks orders and didn't see her again after 25 minutes. wanted to try the late night burger but was absolutely appalled at unwillingness of the service. i've recommended many of friends and i'm ashamed. never again.

2nd time wrong. wow.. just right now they sent another steak that is way off.. i am out of here not coming back

-----31 jul, 2014-----

slow service. we came at a busy time but still the service was very slow. they brought the wrong cooked steak and had to wait 20 minutes for a beer. if i am paying 60 bucks for my dinner and couple beers this is not acceptable

yes! bacon popcorn! it is worth every penny and some. i had the skate and was very impressed. food and booze was all served very well and very timely. they have free valet parking which is always a plus. quality and price are right on here.

food was ok, but overpriced. on my first visit to the tavern i decided to have lunch. the place is nice inside with a good sized bar and plenty of dining room space. i chose a cup of french onion soup and the winter salad with chicken and coffee to drink. the soup was average and ok. the salad was good, but fairly modest in size and not a tremendous amount of chicken. the bill was $20 and for what i got, i thought that was pretty steep. if lunch is $20 and it doesn't knock my socks off, i probably won't be back.

amazing. i dined here with my mom and a few of her friends before the bryan adams concert at the brady. my mom and i shared a bottle of white wine, and the other gals had various martinis. they were all high-end and very tasty! for an appetizer we ordered the olive plate and it was yummy. i ordered the mushroom risotto (delish!) and my mom ordered their famous burger, which i deeply regret not ordering myself, as it was the most delicious burger i have ever tasted. i am not a huge burger person, but wow, i have been craving it ever since then! the fries are also great and very unique- very thin, and the flavor on them is so different but perfect! it was like rosemary, or some other herb, and they melt in your mouth! we are going back here before the nutcracker ballet, and you can bet that i'll be ordering the burger & fries!!

going back for more. made online reservations for 1700 hrs, on a sunday. there were few customers at the time, service was adequate. an hour later, the place was packed and loud with chatter.

kids ordered a couple of hamburgers with stilton cheese - seemed a bit on the small side, somewhere between a slider and yer average hamburger. very tasty. the fries were dismal - overcooked, small, tasted more of a burned flavor than potatoes.

they had bacon and popcorn for an appetizer - very good.

wife enjoyed her chicken and veggies .

i had the catfish (just a bit overcooked also) along with mashed potatoes and peas.

the deviled egg appetizer included salmon, a mild wasabe and something else i can't recall. quite good. could make a meal of it.

we all liked the chocolate torte, the orange bread pudding was "okay".

all in all, not an unpleasant experience. it'll be one of our go-to restaurants in the district.

first time visit. my dining partner and i went to the tavern (which i thought was "the brady tavern") on sunday about noon. we were given a brunch menu. we had mimosa drinks which were very good but could have been colder.

my partner ordered the pulled pork quiche and side salad. she was pleased with both. i ordered the 2 eggs fried over easy, sausage patty, home fries and biscuit. the eggs were perfect as were the home fries. the sausage patty was kind of rubbery and had an odd taste. the biscuit was very big, but was way over baked to a darker brown with some almost burnt spots on the bottom. it reminded me more of a canned biscuit. i expected better for this place.

over all, we will try it again, but for lunch or dinner.
