the pyramid

i used to work near the place although tempted to try this place soon after completion.. but never had a chance.. anyways, the architecture is interesting in fact this is the first ground-breaking architectural statement restaurant in cebu.. the unique design is so gorgeous and i love the purple led lights that is quite an eye catching... the location is perfect too!...

they offer a wide range of wines but not food... we went there for dinner, it was my mother's day treat for my sister, mother and for myself.. we went along with the rest of the family.... we were all starving however the place was fully packed.... we had to wait in line to get a table for 7 persons and when we finally had a table they ran out of soooo much stuff... they kept on telling us we are out of this, and this, and this, and this and that... it was a nightmare but fun haha... we didn't really have a choice so i had to ignore my frustration and chose whatever they had available and just laugh everything off..

as for their service... well they told us that servingfoodis an hour.. which is perfectly understandable considering we ordered a lot of foods... plus the restaurant was fully packed... and so to be honest an hour of waiting.. i think the service is fast....

the foods? well.. the baby back ribs were lusciously tasty and their porkchop too.. the sisig and chicken were okay... i love the purple hazel cocktail!... the rainbow cake was sinfully rich and deliciously festive!...

their staff were all friendly and very accommodating...

well.. taking everything into account... it was an awesome night however it wasn't a perfect mothers day celebration because of our experience... but we chose not to let it ruin our night.. we just enjoyed the moment.. besides.. they were a newly opened restaurant and it was fully packed they may not be anticipating the surge of people.... so i thought i'll give them a benefit of the doubt.. i'll definitely visit the place again...

the place and ambiance is great, they have wide variety of wines to choose from. service is a bit slow and unorganized though, i think its because they're still on soft opening. havent tried theirfoodyet.

they have deliciousfoodfilled with so much flavor. i've been there at the soft opening so i was only given a handful of choices but i've tried their sandwich which was kinda overpriced for the size of it. i'd say it's a great place to chill with friends. they have fresh juices and fraps and a selection of wines and beer. they also have desserts which i'm going to try during my next visit. it seems like another version of la vie for me. they also have great ambiance and very friendly staff.

from the outside, the pyramid really looks expensive. but i was surprised to find that theirfoodis not as expensive as the ambiance of the place might make you think. thefoodwas really good too and the bill was not so bad. i could even say the prices are affordable. their sisig is a must try!

three of us ate there on a busy friday night.  the waiter apologized for slow service before we ordered.  the menu was on copy paper and they did not offer the complete menu as they had only been open 2 weeks.  my pasta came after 10 minutes.  the pizza for my friends came about 35 minutes later.  i sent the pasta back for new.  not bad pasta.  my friends said the pizza was not good and it didn't look good.
there was 1 annoying song (thumping noise that sounded more like repetitive machinery) playing the 2 hours we were there.  i was told easier listening music was suggested to the owner but he likes that music, so we would have to endure it.  i have walked by there several times since and the same song is playing over and over.
this place has potential if they can serve thefoodmore quickly and serve all people at the table at once instead of piecemeal.  the prices are surprisingly reasonable.  they definitely need to change the annoying sound coming out of their speakers and turn the volume down.  the echo inside the building makes conversation a bit difficult but not impossible.  i wish them well.  the pyramid is a unique building.

one of the highlight place in cebu. the pyramid. aside from its shape and form that can attract the eyes of many they also have foods, coffee, wines and etc.  a fusion cuisine and there is still a lot offoodto choose from.

of course getting there was awesome! seeing the unique architectural features will impress the majority, and it did impress me.

we were ushered to our seats and immediately i wanted to take a tour with my friend. i could not contain my excitement as i clicked away and tried to capture the angles and unique light display of the place to the embarrassment of my dear friend.

then we went back to our seats and glanced at ourfoodchoices for the night. of . my first choice was aglio olio, of course... "not available, ma'am". okay, the crispy pata... "not available ma'am" much to our great disappointment, this cycle went on and on. slowly the ambiance darkened. the white walls and sparkly lights somehow lost their luster.

please improve on this, pyramid. maybe create smaller menus for what is available for the night so diners are not left with their absolute last choice. thefoodwas good though, but the service was not. thankfully, though it was slooow, the servers were nice and amiable.

the words that tom colicchio once said in top chef that diners return mostly because of a good experience echoed true through my mind. goodfoodcan never make up for bad service.

to add an exclamation point to this pyramid experience, when it was time to leave, we saw crispy pata being brought to the table next to us.

the staffs are all accomodating and friendly. they even requested secretly with my boyfriend if they can sing for my birthday which i didnt even know they will bec all i thought was just a cake with happy birthday written in it will be served😅 one of the staff even takes your photo in a nice angle unlike in other restaurants, other staff wont be asked a small favor. thefoodare all delicious but it was a bit pricey woth no rice in their meals. will recommend this place but also need they to fix their lighting bec others are already flickering😅 heheh

food is mediocre. this place tries to be high end but it just falls flat. affordable but the quality of thefoodwas not very high. service was terrible because the place was full. i would not recommend going to this place. maybe you can go here for the nice pictures but that's about it.

no, just no! thefoodis mediocre. don’t be fooled by the architecture. basically one is paying for the venue alone. this restaurant could benefit from hiring better cooks or training them to improve the taste level to match the venue.

this is a nice place to chill. when i am feeling a margarita and pizza kind of night, this is the only place i’d be. thefoodis average and not bad. it is a value for your money. worth a try!

it was the best meal i had when we went to cebu city for the sinulog weekend.

thefoodwas great. their three cheese pizza is my favorite. the bam-i’s serving is more than enough for three persons. the kuya waiter (was not able to get his name) is very nice and very stage kuya. he even followed us outside and offered to take our picture. he even told us where to stand to get a great view.

the place looks beautiful in the morning but its even more breathtaking in the evening. 5 star++ for the ambiance.

i love theirfoodespecially their pizza! good ambiance with delicious food! surely will make you come back and eat here again! the staff is also friendly and they serve fast.

as i was about to rate the pyramid. i checked the ratings of their restaurant because i was curious how the other customers rated them. i was not surprised some people rated 2 and some 3. they deserve to be rated at that number. here’s my experience. this is actually my first time to eat here. when we entered at the restaurant, the staffs (it was a woman and a man) gave us a grumpy look and they didn’t even smile at all. i just ignored it, but that was strike one. we looked for a table for 5 and it was a busy sunday night so there were a lot of people, so the available tables were on dark areas with tiny lighting only ( we need lighting for picture purposes and so that we can see thefoodclearly). they only have 1 available table near the ac so we took it. we asked the waitress to have us transferred if there are any other available seats when a customer leaves. we realized that the tables upstairs were available so we asked the waiter if we can transfer upstairs and he said no because it is all full (maybe from reservations) but i was just surprised wow all the tables were really reserved upstairs? but i didn’t mind, thats strike 2. we already ordered ourfoodthen we asked the waiter to split the carbonara into two plates because they had a big serving of the pasta. he said they cant split it into two plates. my friend was pissed because this is not her first time eating at the pyramid and they usually split the pasta into two serving everytime they order a carbonara. thats strike 3. everytime we ask for a refill of service water they say “wait lng sir ha” then they come back around like 5 minutes just for a service water. i was really upset. the way they treat us or the way they give us a that grumpy look. most especially to that one waiter who was laughing when my gay friend was taking selfies. i asked my cousin because she was invited here for the opening of the pyramid she told me she was not happy of thefoodand the staffs attitude. strike 4, thefoodwas not so good and their ribs were all bones haha i’m really disappointed.
