good food !. stopped by for the firsttimefriday. did have to wait a bit for service but we were not in a hurry. we sat outside on the porch where a couple of guys were strummin guitars although a bit loud they sounded good. had the stuffed deep fried jalapenos appetizer and it was fabulous. whole jalepenos stuffed with cream and cheddar cheese coated and deep fried and no heavy oil taste. hubby had a chicken fried steak which he gave 4 1/2 stars (his mom's gets 5) and i got the blackened fish salad which also gets 4 1/2 stars. portions are more then generous and we will be going back.

they have great build-your-own omelettes all day long! i had one with bacon cheese and jalapeños. it was delicious!

the service was great and i had plenty oftimeto read after my meal.

i will enjoy return visits.

this is the secondtimeand lasttimewe have had to get up and leave. 20 minutes of waiting we ask if its almost ready, waitress said it was. 30 minutes, same thing. 45 minutes waiting, she said they havent even gotten to it when we tell her we are leaving. the table beside us was going on an hour. this is bad, ive never experienced anything like it. wont be a third try, were done.

i've been to the porch in burleson for breakfast twice. the firsttimei had the greek omelette which came with hash browns and another side. i selected two pancakes. the other options were grits or hash browns. the omelette had fresh spinach folded into it and looked as good as it tasted. it is an excellent version. the pancakes were fluffy, about a half an inch thick.

my recent visit with a friend found us at breakfast again. thistimei ordered the texas scramble. this was scrambled eggs layered along with a small to medium sized chicken fried steak, home fries, all atop texas toast. this was completely smothered with a ton of lightly peppered cream gravy. a small cup of jalapenos were served along with this. i spent a little while looking this over and began dotting the gravy with the jalapenos. when my server came and asked if everything was okay, she noticed my decorating my plate and laughed. i hadn't even tried it yet. this was odd especially since it was a very long wait between ordering and receiving our meals--probably about thirty minutes. once i did try it, i gave it a thumbs up. coffee is always good here, very strong, but without a burntness that i always notice in a starbucks regular coffee. service everytimei've been here has been great! they never let your coffee reach a halfway mark.

my dining partner had the french special: eggs, sausage and home fries with french toast. she liked the meal, although she noted that the home fries were not fresh, but frozen.

the hardwood floors really need a cleaning though. the lasttimei was here, a few years ago, the flooring was new and everything was spotless. thistimethey had streaks of mud at the entrance. it looks like they have added more tables. on busy days, you would be bumping elbows with some of your neighbors. didn't have that problem on this recent visit though. they have window unit air-conditioning, but it was sufficient during my last summer visit. of course they have a small front porch in which to have your meal if you so desire. they also have a small selection of pies from which to choose. a pie case sits at the entrance. the porch serves a solid breakfast, but also offers lunch and dinner as well.

we have visited the porch several times and thoroughly enjoyed it every time.  from thetimeyou walk in, you feel welcome.  the service was efficient and friendly.  the real star is the food.  quality ingredients equals great food.  we've enjoyed several amazing breakfast platters and lunch.  a hidden gem in mansfield.

firsttimehere and really enjoyed it!!! byob is a plus for me! liver-n-onions and fried catfish were the main courses. both were top notch!! fried pickle appetizers are a meal by there self!!!! great portions too!!! going back cause there's a lot on the menu to be savored!!

ordered the southern scrambler and had them add slices tomatoes (if you haven't tried it, try it). tasted good, although disappointed that the gravy was not home made. the biscuit was, so go the extra mile for the gravy ;) the portion was huge! price reflects how much food you get. blueberry muffin french toast was delish, like dessert. took a longtimefor food to come out (well into my 2nd cup of joe). pepper shaker had powdered black pepper, went everywhere when shaken. fresh ground would have been nice.
service was average, sweet waitress though. overall, not bad experience.

wonderful experience all around. we tried out the porch for the firsttimethe other day. the food was fabulous and the waitstaff and manager were fantastic also. it's definitely a place we will frequently dine at. you have to try their peanut butter cheesecake!!

awesome. i come here every weekend the food is delicious and the owner treats us like longtimefriends. great homestyle restaurant with a wide variety. i give this place 3 thumbs up.

i made another visit on the 27th. i'm a big believer in supporting local small businesses so i want to provide good, accurate reviews. this visit i ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich with onion rings. the sandwich wa huge and was pretty good! the onion rings are thick cut and fresh breaded with good breading. definitely worth the price. the service was slow, especially or lunch, as it took 20 minutes to get my food, but it came out hot. would recommend based on quality. service should improve as they work out the kinks.

i visited on the 20th an 21st to try lunch and breakfast. 20th i had chicken friend chicken with mac and cheese and cucumber salad. all was pretty good. chicken cooked properly, roll fresh, prepared and served quickly.

21st i had blueberry muffin french toast. very unique but presented slightly cold and had to get another one that was hot.timeto get it replaced was longer than it should have been. new order was hot and tasty. again it is a unique twist on french toast! it's a new place with some kinks to work out but it's on the right path.

tried this place the other day. started off waiting for 10 minutes without any contact from a waitress after we were seated. the place need a good cleaning. the floors were filthy and the restroom had no soap in the soap dispenser. after the waitress finally took our order we waited another 20 minutes for the food to arrive. not sure what took so long because there were only 4 other people eating there. i ordered chicken fried steak and it was worst i ever tried. had a burnt greasy taste to it. i really wanted to like this place because of the good reviews but the service and the food were awful. forgot to mention i sat with a empty drink cup because the waitress was no where in sight and when she did ask me for a refill it wastimeto leave.

amazing hidden gem !!!. this place is truly delicious. i will be backtimeandtimeagain. the food is plenty, the attention is delightful, small town feel but huge tasty food. you will literally feel right at home.
...a must try....

first and last time. this was my firsttimeeating at this restaurant. the service was on the ball, but the kitchen could not keep up. ordered a riveted, medium, and got a steak so rare it would've gotten up and walked away with a bandaid. the fried pickles are some of the best i've had. i'm not a pickle person. when staff was told about the discrepancy, there wasn't a manager notified or the manager doesn't care about the customer's satisfaction. i personally was not expecting a credit on the bill, but would have liked to know that someone cares.

this was my firsttimehere it was recomended by a local police officer. i love it great food.
