the porch

i went again on 5/22/14 i tried their porch burger it was delicious . with a side of fries our waiter was friendly and theservicewas great . i'm going back again :)

the porch is the best i love their porch pie. the waitress was really friendly and i definitely would go again .

good food !. stopped by for the first time friday. did have to wait a bit forservicebut we were not in a hurry. we sat outside on the porch where a couple of guys were strummin guitars although a bit loud they sounded good. had the stuffed deep fried jalapenos appetizer and it was fabulous. whole jalepenos stuffed with cream and cheddar cheese coated and deep fried and no heavy oil taste. hubby had a chicken fried steak which he gave 4 1/2 stars (his mom's gets 5) and i got the blackened fish salad which also gets 4 1/2 stars. portions are more then generous and we will be going back.

i went on mothers day and it was great they gave me a rose and theserviceis awesome

they have great build-your-own omelettes all day long! i had one with bacon cheese and jalapeños. it was delicious!

theservicewas great and i had plenty of time to read after my meal.

i will enjoy return visits.

i've been to the porch in burleson for breakfast twice. the first time i had the greek omelette which came with hash browns and another side. i selected two pancakes. the other options were grits or hash browns. the omelette had fresh spinach folded into it and looked as good as it tasted. it is an excellent version. the pancakes were fluffy, about a half an inch thick.

my recent visit with a friend found us at breakfast again. this time i ordered the texas scramble. this was scrambled eggs layered along with a small to medium sized chicken fried steak, home fries, all atop texas toast. this was completely smothered with a ton of lightly peppered cream gravy. a small cup of jalapenos were served along with this. i spent a little while looking this over and began dotting the gravy with the jalapenos. when my server came and asked if everything was okay, she noticed my decorating my plate and laughed. i hadn't even tried it yet. this was odd especially since it was a very long wait between ordering and receiving our meals--probably about thirty minutes. once i did try it, i gave it a thumbs up. coffee is always good here, very strong, but without a burntness that i always notice in a starbucks regular coffee. serviceevery time i've been here has been great! they never let your coffee reach a halfway mark.

my dining partner had the french special: eggs, sausage and home fries with french toast. she liked the meal, although she noted that the home fries were not fresh, but frozen.

the hardwood floors really need a cleaning though. the last time i was here, a few years ago, the flooring was new and everything was spotless. this time they had streaks of mud at the entrance. it looks like they have added more tables. on busy days, you would be bumping elbows with some of your neighbors. didn't have that problem on this recent visit though. they have window unit air-conditioning, but it was sufficient during my last summer visit. of course they have a small front porch in which to have your meal if you so desire. they also have a small selection of pies from which to choose. a pie case sits at the entrance. the porch serves a solid breakfast, but also offers lunch and dinner as well.

we have visited the porch several times and thoroughly enjoyed it every time.  from the time you walk in, you feel welcome.  theservicewas efficient and friendly.  the real star is the food.  quality ingredients equals great food.  we've enjoyed several amazing breakfast platters and lunch.  a hidden gem in mansfield.

awesome!. heard of a small place serving great food with a smile. decided to stop in and i was not disappointed. started with the chicken chili nachos with the home made salsa. one word delicious! ordered the porch burger and when it came to the table i was shocked at how much i was getting for my money. everything on this burger was fresh and cooked perfectly. so now on to dessert. had a slice of cheese cake and it was rich and creamy just like a great cheese cake should be. all in all it was great food greatserviceand a return visit guaranteed.

where is the manager? porch in mansfield will not last long.how do you allow kids to run an establishment without any direction or supervision? horribleservicewould not return even if it was free.

my husband and i just ate lunch there today (5th) in hopes of finding another local restaurant we could support. unfortunately we will not be going back. theservicewas extremely slow and unprofessional (my drink was "dropped off" on the opposite side of the table). most of the wait staff was just standing around talking or walking around trying to look busy. there were ketchup splatters on the wall and food all over the ground. the food itself wasn't bad...but not good enough to ever have us go back.

i made another visit on the 27th. i'm a big believer in supporting local small businesses so i want to provide good, accurate reviews. this visit i ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich with onion rings. the sandwich wa huge and was pretty good! the onion rings are thick cut and fresh breaded with good breading. definitely worth the price. theservicewas slow, especially or lunch, as it took 20 minutes to get my food, but it came out hot. would recommend based on quality.serviceshould improve as they work out the kinks.

i visited on the 20th an 21st to try lunch and breakfast. 20th i had chicken friend chicken with mac and cheese and cucumber salad. all was pretty good. chicken cooked properly, roll fresh, prepared and served quickly.

21st i had blueberry muffin french toast. very unique but presented slightly cold and had to get another one that was hot. time to get it replaced was longer than it should have been. new order was hot and tasty. again it is a unique twist on french toast! it's a new place with some kinks to work out but it's on the right path.

tried this place the other day. started off waiting for 10 minutes without any contact from a waitress after we were seated. the place need a good cleaning. the floors were filthy and the restroom had no soap in the soap dispenser. after the waitress finally took our order we waited another 20 minutes for the food to arrive. not sure what took so long because there were only 4 other people eating there. i ordered chicken fried steak and it was worst i ever tried. had a burnt greasy taste to it. i really wanted to like this place because of the good reviews but theserviceand the food were awful. forgot to mention i sat with a empty drink cup because the waitress was no where in sight and when she did ask me for a refill it was time to leave.

miss ruthie. loved it, and i am a picky customer to please. i had an amazing buffalo chicken sandwich with mashed potato's and gravy, both were excellent. then we tried the almond joy pie, which was good and hard to quit eating. my brother ate the porch burger, which has thick ham and and bacon on it. the atmosphere was relaxed and ourservicewas great:we got there a little before the evening rush.

ticky-tacky stuff that cost you customers. i have been a weekly customer at the porch. the menu says...senior menu...$5 and chose one side. i ordered the chicken salad and a side of fruit. we were charged an extra $2 for the side. oh! "the salad doesn't come with a side." well...since the menus doesn't say that either you tell the customer up front thats extra or you say "my bad" and fix it. thats called a wait staff trained for customerserviceand a management devoted to customer service. i love the food at this place but this is the kind of tick-tacky stuff that drives me nuts and drives customers away.

great atmosphere and location. the interior is very warm and cozy.servicewas attentive and friendly. the tartar was great and i like that it changes up often. the ribeye really is a treat there and locally raised. also be sure to save room for the bread pudding.
