the porch

we never ate.. my family lives in mansfield and we decided to try the porch for breakfast. we waited about 10min to be seated, which was totally fine. we were pleased that theplacewas busy because that is typically a sign that the food is good. the server was pleasant and took our order. and then we waited. and waited. and waited. the server did come by after about 30min to tell us there was a bit of a wait. then we waited another 15min and we still did not have our breakfast. i think 45min to wait for breakfast is too long. we ended up leaving without eating, so i can't review the food, but the management of the kitchen could probably use a little work.

thisplaceis amazing, great atmosphere! the staff is so friendly, and funny. i tried the sweet multigrain pancakes with bananas...fantastic! i can't wait to go back.

had lunch here before, noting spectacular... ate breakfast there, sooo good... better food than ourplaceless hassle, way better than ihop! we will be going back

fantastic food and service!!!. love this place! it is a terrificplaceto enjoy delicious, reasonably priced home cooking. we couldn't have enjoyed it more. we will be eating here again and again!

wonderful experience all around. we tried out the porch for the first time the other day. the food was fabulous and the waitstaff and manager were fantastic also. it's definitely aplacewe will frequently dine at. you have to try their peanut butter cheesecake!!

awesome!. heard of a smallplaceserving great food with a smile. decided to stop in and i was not disappointed. started with the chicken chili nachos with the home made salsa. one word delicious! ordered the porch burger and when it came to the table i was shocked at how much i was getting for my money. everything on this burger was fresh and cooked perfectly. so now on to dessert. had a slice of cheese cake and it was rich and creamy just like a great cheese cake should be. all in all it was great food great service and a return visit guaranteed.

even with issues, i would return...here's why. (mansfield) i've been to the porch in burleson, texas and it is very good. i had breakfast there a while ago and was pleased. with that in mind i thought i would give the porch in mansfield a try.

first of all, the porch in mansfield is anything but relaxing. music is loud and seems to reverberate in the rafters. not conducive to having a quiet conversation. floors here are concrete, not hardwood. no patio. this is an eatery at the end of a strip mall, so it's not a romantic setting by any means. it is bright though. lots of glass with lots and lots of sunlight. table set ups are utilitarian and simple. chairs are comfy enough.

my specific server today was not very friendly. the others servers seemed okay, watching them interact with their customers. my server just seemed to not want to be there. she took my order but didn't seem to want to chit-chat. all business. i ordered a roasted poblano burger with onion rings and unsweetened iced tea. i guess i waited about fifteen minutes for my burger. she brought me a couple of soft sweetened rolls with butter. light and airy, they really hit the spot.

my burger finally arrived and looked very appetizing. the burger bun again was sweet and fluffy. the problem was that the bottom portion of the bun was thinner than than the upper portion. didn't appear to be a problem until it all disintegrated due to the mustard making it mushy. peppers, onions and lettuce soon were deposited around my shoes and i was forced to eat about half of the burger with a fork. mind you, the burger was juicy and had a lot of flavor. it just needed a sturdier bun. the onion rings were fabulous. a decent portion, these rings were golden brown, crispy and were very good. my server came by to fill my half-empty glass but then turned and walked away. i stopped her and said to please fill the glass, but she had brought the wrong tea.

my server started to warm up by the end of the meal and was more friendly. i would have enjoyed the meal more if she could have been nicer throughout the meal. theplacewas doing steady business. but a group of four waited at the entrance for about a minute while all the servers and manager were back in the kitchen. they all looked perplexed and i was going to tell them that someone would be there in a moment, but one of the guys had already had a dispassionate look on his face as he was trying to convince the others to go to burger joint next door. when a server finally popped out from the back to take the party to a table, the guy had finally convinced the others to go to hideout burgers and i watched them exit and enter the venue just steps away. lesson boys and girls? always have someone covering the front.

the porch here in mansfield is on the borderline with me. the burger and rings are great except for the flimsy bun. servers need some pepping up. tone down the music. have someone mind up front. while thisplacedoesn't really excite me, it has its merits. nothing is so bad that it deserves a thumbs down, but apparently some do not have the patience that i do.

great food. so i had to go try and see what the mansfield isd staff were talking about.thisplaceis great! a bit crowded for my party of one.the prices are very reasonable, the staff is super friendly and the chocolate pie was sooooo yummy!
i will be back for coffee and pie on the regular.

great food great staff needs stronger coffee.

i read most the comment before coming here but i had to see it for my self .i have to say that the food was delicious. thisplacehas many unique items on their menu.the owner is super nice.we got to try chicken fried bacon which was awesome!the staff is friendly and outgoing. i will have to make this one of my regular places for lunch. they have my vote on supporting small local business. a+

i made another visit on the 27th. i'm a big believer in supporting local small businesses so i want to provide good, accurate reviews. this visit i ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich with onion rings. the sandwich wa huge and was pretty good! the onion rings are thick cut and fresh breaded with good breading. definitely worth the price. the service was slow, especially or lunch, as it took 20 minutes to get my food, but it came out hot. would recommend based on quality. service should improve as they work out the kinks.

i visited on the 20th an 21st to try lunch and breakfast. 20th i had chicken friend chicken with mac and cheese and cucumber salad. all was pretty good. chicken cooked properly, roll fresh, prepared and served quickly.

21st i had blueberry muffin french toast. very unique but presented slightly cold and had to get another one that was hot. time to get it replaced was longer than it should have been. new order was hot and tasty. again it is a unique twist on french toast! it's a newplacewith some kinks to work out but it's on the right path.

tried thisplacethe other day. started off waiting for 10 minutes without any contact from a waitress after we were seated. theplaceneed a good cleaning. the floors were filthy and the restroom had no soap in the soap dispenser. after the waitress finally took our order we waited another 20 minutes for the food to arrive. not sure what took so long because there were only 4 other people eating there. i ordered chicken fried steak and it was worst i ever tried. had a burnt greasy taste to it. i really wanted to like thisplacebecause of the good reviews but the service and the food were awful. forgot to mention i sat with a empty drink cup because the waitress was no where in sight and when she did ask me for a refill it was time to leave.

amazing hidden gem !!!. thisplaceis truly delicious. i will be back time and time again. the food is plenty, the attention is delightful, small town feel but huge tasty food. you will literally feel right at home.
...a must try....

the atmosphere was very friendly, as well were the staff. the food was average and nothing special. a goodplaceto go for a once-in-a-while breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

ticky-tacky stuff that cost you customers. i have been a weekly customer at the porch. the menu says...senior menu...$5 and chose one side. i ordered the chicken salad and a side of fruit. we were charged an extra $2 for the side. oh! "the salad doesn't come with a side." well...since the menus doesn't say that either you tell the customer up front thats extra or you say "my bad" and fix it. thats called a wait staff trained for customer service and a management devoted to customer service. i love the food at thisplacebut this is the kind of tick-tacky stuff that drives me nuts and drives customers away.
