just revolting. i drove over an hour to go there, because of the show 3 squares. well it was nothing like the show. i ordered 2 steaks to go. one with just cheese, because i like to taste the steak. the other 1/2 steaksandwichwith all the cheeses ( 3 ) and onion and mushrooms for my wife. when i got home and started eating i almost thew up! it was the most unpleasant, and shoddysandwichi ever ate, and i am 63 years old. i had my 34 yr old son take a bite and he spit it out, and he will eat just about anything. well my wife'ssandwichjust had meat on it and nothing else. ( figures ) i not driving 2 hours round trip to take it back. by the way she didn't like hers either. she gave her mother a bite and she said, wow that is not very good is it. just as a steaksandwichit tasted putrid, foul and sour. for the gas i spent to get there and the $15 for the 2 sandwiches i will never believe the tv show 3 squares again. i hope this saves other people some money an unpleasant experience.

i have not been there yet.. i grew up outside philly for over 25 years, no matter what sub orsandwichyou want, it always starts with the roll! nowhere in ne ohio or anywhere else that i travel on a regular basis (including upstate ny, western pa, and oh) has anything close to the "proper" roll. for some reason, no one knows how to bake a good roll like in the philly area - check out amoroso, coropolese, conshohocken bakery, etc.... in the philly area - nothing compares. beyond that try to find a good kaiser roll outside philly --- good luck!!!!! has anyone even heard of a zep outside of philly? people just do not know what they are missing. heck even the pizza sucks in oh, its a shame that sbarro has the best pizza in oh. someone needs to learn how to make some pizza.

matter of opinion. that's funny brian because no other place that i know of in cleveland chops up the meat into bits. i find it ludicrous that you say "we in cleveland" like you're speaking for everybody. how presumptuous of you! just because you like it, doesn't mean everyone else does. last time i checked this was america and everyone is entitled to their opinion. to choose someone's review and say they have a "bad palate" is juvenile and stupid. i think you need to realize the definition of a "review."

i'm not uninformed as you say i am. osh - i got your rebuttal e-mail about my review:

i think there is strong disagreement about the chopping up of the steak. see below website:

http://www.rickssteaks.com/faqs.html#whole

btw - the above link site belongs to the family that invented the cheesesteak and they have in caps that you do not chop up the meat! i think you lose this argument based on this alone but...
i've also been to philly and had many cheesesteaks so i am not uninformed as you say. your way is not the traditional way.
if you can't take the criticism, get out of the kitchen.

totally overrated. totally overrated. the philly cheesesteak was horrible. the meat was chopped into little bits...looked like mush. you couldn't even taste the meat. the onions had no taste.
thesandwichdripped with grease and was watery.
the only good part about thesandwichwas the bun and cheez whiz. we're not going back.

steak n crap. steak -n- crap

couldn't wait to try this place out...i finally make it there spend $10.25 on a steakncheese combo and it took 27 minutes for my one combo.... i asked 2-3 times whats up, and they just told me the to go orders where heavy you gonna have to wait... wtf 27 minutes???? then the moment finally arrives and i go to the car to munch down, and mysandwichdoesn't have mushrooms or the grilled onions on it....

and just from the walk to the car mysandwichwas already cold and the bun was soaking wet.....it was the worst food i ever ordered... nothing like eating a cold, wet soggy wrongly made over ten dollar combo...

i would rather drive all the way to philly to get one instead.

yum. i'm not from philly and don't know what constitutes 'authentic' there but these are some great sandwiches. sorry i waited months to try the place out. worst you can say about them is that there's some labor and time involved in making thesandwichfresh to your specs. call your order in if you're impatient. lots of meat, and not a drippy greasy mess like the standard cheesesteak you get anywhere else around here. your choice of cheeses and garnishes make for individually-tailored deliciousness. bay fries are good too.

best spot in twinsburg. this place is the real deal! the owners don't settle for anything but the best. from the way they shave the prosciutto, the quality of the cheesesteak, fresh hoagie rolls, and cheese fries that rival anything philly has to offer, this place is for truesandwichlovers. it's a family owned and operated establishment. it's clear they take a lot of pride in the quality of their food. i've always gotten a very warm welcome from the owner. he makes his rounds with the customers to make sure they are happy. philly ain't got nothin' on this place!

i've said it before and i'll say it again: if you wantsandwichauthenticity, more often than not you are going to have to track it down to its source. want a great chicago italian beef sandwich? go to chicago. want an authentic philadelphia cheesesteak s
