an awesome lunch!. the steak and cheese hoagie was good, but the sweet potato tots with honey were great.

kudos on daring to be different!

one of a kind.. i have eaten here atleast 6 times in the past 3 months, not once have i been given any reason to complain. the sandwiches are delicious. mtv29, im not sure how you could have such a bad opinion, if you are looking for a 2 minute in and out place or pre made sandwiches to grab and go, its not the place, but i have never walked away unsatisfied. this place is one of a kind.

amazing!!!. today was my first time going to the original steaks & hoagies and all i have to say is wow! i ordered a cheese steak with provolone, mushrooms, hot peppers, and mayo. it was amazing and it was the best cheese steak that i have ever eaten. now i don't have to go all the way to philly to get an authentic philly cheese steak lol. i also ordered fries and they were amazing as well. the owner bill fromholzer jr. (a.k.a. billy from philly) and his father were two of the nicest people you will ever meet and that means a lot to me because i have been to a lot of places where the owner and staff weren't very nice! not to mention i am a dallas cowboys fan and they still were nice to me lol :) i will definitely go back again!!

just like home. i grew up outside of philly and these cheesesteaks are as close to home as i've gotten here in ohio. they are loaded with tender steak and cheese. i went with my mom who grew up in philly and she said they were perfect. treat yourself and get the bay fries too!

just revolting. i drove over an hour to go there, because of the show 3 squares. well it was nothing like the show. i ordered 2 steaks to go. one with just cheese, because i like to taste the steak. the other 1/2 steak sandwich with all the cheeses ( 3 ) and onion and mushrooms for my wife. when i got home and started eating i almost thew up! it was the most unpleasant, and shoddy sandwich i ever ate, and i am 63 years old. i had my 34 yr old son take a bite and he spit it out, and he will eat just about anything. well my wife's sandwich just had meat on it and nothing else. ( figures ) i not driving 2 hours round trip to take it back. by the way she didn't like hers either. she gave her mother a bite and she said, wow that is not very good is it. just as a steak sandwich it tasted putrid, foul and sour. for the gas i spent to get there and the $15 for the 2 sandwiches i will never believe the tv show 3 squares again. i hope this saves other people some money an unpleasant experience.

i have not been there yet.. i grew up outside philly for over 25 years, no matter what sub or sandwich you want, it always starts with the roll! nowhere in ne ohio or anywhere else that i travel on a regular basis (including upstate ny, western pa, and oh) has anything close to the "proper" roll. for some reason, no one knows how to bake a good roll like in the philly area - check out amoroso, coropolese, conshohocken bakery, etc.... in the philly area - nothing compares. beyond that try to find a good kaiser roll outside philly --- good luck!!!!! has anyone even heard of a zep outside of philly? people just do not know what they are missing. heck even the pizza sucks in oh, its a shame that sbarro has the best pizza in oh. someone needs to learn how to make some pizza.

matter of opinion. that's funny brian because no other place that i know of in cleveland chops up the meat into bits. i find it ludicrous that you say "we in cleveland" like you're speaking for everybody. how presumptuous of you! just because you like it, doesn't mean everyone else does. last time i checked this was america and everyone is entitled to their opinion. to choose someone's review and say they have a "bad palate" is juvenile and stupid. i think you need to realize the definition of a "review."

-----24 jun, 2011-----

i'm not uninformed as you say i am. osh - i got your rebuttal e-mail about my review:

i think there is strong disagreement about the chopping up of the steak. see below website:

http://www.rickssteaks.com/faqs.html#whole

btw - the above link site belongs to the family that invented the cheesesteak and they have in caps that you do not chop up the meat! i think you lose this argument based on this alone but...
i've also been to philly and had many cheesesteaks so i am not uninformed as you say. your way is not the traditional way.
if you can't take the criticism, get out of the kitchen.

totally overrated. totally overrated. the philly cheesesteak was horrible. the meat was chopped into little bits...looked like mush. you couldn't even taste the meat. the onions had no taste.
the sandwich dripped with grease and was watery.
the only good part about the sandwich was the bun and cheez whiz. we're not going back.

the best around. the original steak and hoagies is all that and then some... i heard about this place from co-workers, and believe me, it did not dissapoint. my wife and i both got combos and yes there was a little wait.... but it was lunch time ! and the wait was well worth it ! the best steak philly we've ever had ! fresh bread, and toppings, better than anywhere else in the cleveland area. i've been telling people to check this place out ever since. i love this place and will be back as much as possible.... two thumbs up guys !

the cheez whiz seemed to be saturated into much of the steak making every bite a cheezy bite of heaven.
