the morrissey house

poor service, good food. came here for brunch on saturday around 12:30pm with a friend and it was some of the worstservicei've ever received in a restaurant. i arrived first and was only given one menu, but when i asked for a second, the waitress disappeared and didn't return for a solid 15 minutes, by which point my friend and i had just shared the one menu. same goes for drinks; we ordered glasses of water which took over 10 minutes to come. from what i could tell, it was only myself and my friend plus another couple dining so i'm not sure what the holdup was. i could see the two waitresses chatting behind the counter the entire time which was frustrating when we had to wait so long for everything. the waitress didn't even come back to check on us after we got out food which was frustrating because my friend wanted some ketchup.

luckily the food was good or else it would have been a complete waste of time. i had the morrissey eggs benedict and they were good. the hollandaise sauce was very tart, which was different but still good. the homefries were tasty and my dish came with a ton. my friend got the skillet with chorizo sausage and hers were literally amazing so i'd probably go for that one if i were to ever go back.

just what i wanted. after reading so many mixed reviews on here i thought it would be worth sharing my experience. all i wanted was a juicy cheeseburger with fries. i have been craving it all day so when my boyfriend got home from work we walked over to morrissey house and without really looking at the menu i told our server i just wanted a classic burger with cheese, tomato, lettuce and onion and fries on the side. was i ever in for a treat! the burger was cooked to perfection with a hint of pink in the middle, i had a great slab of tomato and plenty of melty (not processed) cheese. the fries were crispy and delicious. all and all i was very impressed. theservicewasn't fantastic but for a girl simply craving a burger on a friday night i was extremely pleased with my impression of morrissey house and will likely be returning to try a few other mouth-watering menu items.

one of my all time top 3 places to eat in london! always have greatserviceand the food is always delicious. my partner and i finished the sausage board, a glass of red sangria and a cold brew. highly recommend!!

we went for a late breakfast-early lunch. it was around 11am and wasn’t too busy. theservicewas very good. friendly server! i had the canadian skillet - very filling! i didn’t need to eat again all day😀

we come here all the time.serviceis great even on a busy night. the meatloaf is the best ive had. food is well cooked, and presented nicely. highly recommend!

a pretty surprisingly good place for food. my expectation was low because i thought it's more of a bar. food is good,serviceis very good, setting is lovely and homelike, portion is generous, and menu is very reasonably priced.

after a few years of saying no i decided, after reviewing the new menu and beer selection, that another try was warranted-a big mistake.

- no parking. an issue almost anywhere near the core in london but it is especially expensive and sparse in this area it seems. the pay parking rates are now $10 if you want enough time to sit and have a relaxed meal without fear of a ticket so be ready for that.

- menu/food. i was excited to see gone is the same tired old pub menu, replace by decent appetizers and mains which was nice to see but failed to impress. my girlfriend made the mistake of trying the lamb vindaloo. yes, its a pub but that doesn't mean they can't make a decent indian dish right? wrong. all the pieces for a great vindaloo were there: loads of lamb, vegetables, potatoes, spices and naan bread but....no sauce. sauce, the essence and entire point of this dish and it was dry!!

- service.servicewas pretty base model but what was really the kicker is that when we mentioned(politely, in a conversational tone) "this is good but really dry unfortunately." the server answered "well you should have ordered more sauce" seriously?! before i could even answer that she then added "this is more of an 'americanized' vindaloo" what is an "americanized vindaloo"?! we weren't looking for a freebie or an apology we just wanted to give a little feedback but what a gong show.

in conclusion, there are far better places with a better menu and prices that offer the same range in local beers to tempt your palate. due to the hotel trade this place will always have a first time customer base but as for recurring visitors i for one will not be bothering.

a little effort and courtesy go a long way.....

great vibes!. i've been hear a couple times and not only is the food great but theserviceis awesome. i have tried a couple of their dishes including the cheese and meat platter, the veggie burger, the eggplant parmesan sandwich and shepherd's pie all flawless. the manager is so pleasant and trivia nights on mondays are bomb! if you are looking for good eats and company this is the place to be.

good vibe...but. went with a group of older women. enjoyed the down to earth atmosphere but fount it too noisy for conversation. i had chicken curry. it was passable but not delicious. large serving. the beef was a big hit with those who had it. the rice balls were tasty.servicewas friendly but not thoughtful.

went on half price wing night. the wings are terrible. we ordered 2 lbs, 1 mo'bq and 1 cocunutcurry....the sauces mere menh, and the mo'bq wings came out burnt with the burnt sides down as if they were trying to hide the fact that they were charred. atmosphere was odd,servicesub par. do not recommend. if you want good wings, i recommend bernie's bar and grill or palasad.
