good food with nice views of the water. if you go at appointed times you get a first row seat in front of the cannon that is fired right off the dock. we were there early on a sunday so the atmosphere was very relaxed and laid back.

lula inn has great views overlooking the harbour & maritime museum & although it was a stormy day when we visited, we were nicely sheltered inside. they do have a lovely deck area for fine days too.
service was friendly on our visit & our order arrived in good time. we tried the confit tuna which was delicious & surprisingly filling. for bigger appetites you could add a side of agria potatoes which are yum.
for drinks we ordered the plum, lime & soda which was tasty & refreshing & coffee. they have a good cocktails/wine etc menu too.
looking forward to visiting again & trying more of the menu.

why are people harsh here? i love lula inn. me and my friends did a lovely brunch-lunch here. we ordered the lamb, pasta, and schnitzel. they were lovely. our favourite was the lamb. the ambiance was nice. lula inn is a new restaurant, maybe people should let them settle for few months until they find the right management kitchen flow. but i would love to go back again.

lovely vibe and and venue, have the option of sitting inside for a live band and dancing or outside to enjoy the view of the harbour and sail boats. staff were very friendly and personable, they made sure we were having the optimal dining experience. food was delicious especially the chocolate self sauce pudding, to which we wanted more of. mains were awesome, we had the chicken schnitzel and creamy honey soy risotto both cooked to perfection with much flavour. many options for sides and sharing dishes, we chose the fried agria potatoes which were lovely and crunchy. would like to go back and try the 10 hour slow cooked carrots! would highly recommend a beautiful evening down on the viaduct at the lula inn.

had dinner and drinks here with a group of 12 on a thursday night. there was a nice vibe without being overly busy and the band that came on at some stage were great. a bit of an unexpected surprise. unfortunately that's where the good part ended. the service was average, inattentive and when we asked to see desert menu's we were informed that the kitchen was closed so no deserts for us! refer comment on inattentive service. from the food we did get the venison tartare was the star of the show however the rest of the small dishes were underwhelming. the oysters were so small and out of condition a decent restaurant just would not have served them. really disappointing when we have such fantastic produce to work with. cauliflower balls were bland, as was the confit tuna. several of us had the larger steaks and the cooking was inconsistent and the large cap of fat really should have been rendered down some. accompanying sauce was pretty good though and although a little unusual the 10 hour char grilled carrots were worth the price. i can't pass comment on the other mains except i was advised the lamb shoulder was nothing to get excited about. i'd go back for drinks and the band for sure but other than perhaps a bowl of fries with a beer i don't see me ordering food here again. at least not until they get some consistently good reviews. hopefully they will sharpen up their act and not just try and trade off what is really a great location.

we had a friends dinner here last night. the food was great and they had an awesome cocktail list, but my favourite thing was the live band. it started around 9 and went to 11 and they were great. people were up dancing!

beautiful restaurant on the waterfront. i ordered the scampi spaghetti which i loved but my friend ordered a burger which came out hardly cooked. she asked for it to be recooked to be well done but when it came out again it was still the same.. vividly red in the middle. she gave up and didnt eat it but at least we had another friend who didnt mind and finished it off for her. next time when we ask for welldone, please make sure it isnt red in the middle. other than that i had a good experience here, thanks to great harbour water views.

i came here again wih group of work mates. came here hoping that the service would have improved after my last time here but left disappointed again.
1. we asked for sparkling water. next minute a different waitress brings us our glasses filled with tap water. the sparkling water bottle comes next. we had to drink our tap water so that we can empty our glass to refill with sparkling water.
2. the waitress that served us must be a trainee.. she did not listen us. she went around asking whether we wanted more glasses of wine, we said no. a minute later she asked again.
3. waitress is not attentive when we actually need her.
4. our second glasses of wine came 15mins after we ordered.
5. after we finished our mains, we were waiting for the waitress to give us dessert menu which she did not for 20mins. we decided to leave.

serving needs to be improved here. with having attentive waitresses you could make so much more money. instead it results in unhappy customers who needed dessert after that main.

this place has a reputation for bad service, sich a shame as its a lovely restaurant. hope you could take my second advice to improve your service.

first of all, kudos to this place for taking reservations unlike many new restaurants. i hate driving into the city and paying like a zillion bucks for parking only to find i can't get in. i wasn't sure about going to somewhere that had just opened as usually things aren't always that great at the beginning as a restaurant settles in, but i'm glad i did. i'm pretty picky (as shown by some of my other ratings) but i really couldn't fault it. we went for lunch: the waitress asked us what kind of cocktails we liked and made recommendations accordingly, and the drinks were fantastic. two of us had the roasted snapper roll, which was incredibly tasty and served on a very light roll (like a bahn mi roll) that made it really easy to cut (sometimes sawing through bread is a real hassle). the shoestring fries were tasty too. the other one of us had the smashed avocado and she said it was very good. again, we're all super-picky about our coffee but it was made perfectly and was excellent. service was great too. there were lots of things on the menu we wanted to try so i'm looking forward to returning.
