i called before rounding up some friends to take the drive out to this place. they assured me the buffet is replenished until 2pm. when we arrived at noon, a woman met us at the door. without greeting us, she asked if we had reservations. confused, i explained that we called prior to getting there and we weren't instructed to make a reservation (as i took notice of the nearly empty restaurant). we were then sat at a table outside with a cute view. our server asked if we would enjoy any drinks, we ordered mimosas. then she asked if we might enjoy hot sauce, jams, or preserves. we requested hot sauce. she then instructed us to go inside and attend the buffet. while walking through the buffet line there was no crawfish pasta, no veggies or fixings for the salad, no gumbo, and no cinnamon rolls. our server assured us these items would be available shortly. after being more than half way through our meal and watching our server clean multiple tables, i went inside to retrieve the hot sauce, myself. when we were about done eating our food, she came out with our long awaited mimosas, one of which she spilled onto my friend's phone and chair. she went back in to grab towels and proceeded to address her other tables. after about ten minutes i went find her to ask if i was going to get my mimosa that was spilled. she replied yes, and ten more minutes later she arrived with it. upon my second round to the buffet, eager to sample the items we previously missed out on, i was severely disappointed to find not only were they not there, but they weren't going to be putting more out. this is the most terrible dining experience i've had in a long time and look forward to not returning. do yourself a favor and attend blue dog brunch in lafayette.
