best place in austin. the jackalope definitely oneawesomebar, with amazing food. the regular kitchen has great bar food, the best burgers around. the pizza place in the front makes a fine thin crust pizza with a fantastic sauce and a some really great and unusual toppings ( pulled pork, blue cheese and bacon, and a chicken caesar salad pie are some i have tried). this place is a far cry from the mostly crappy pizza in austin. the bar scene at the jackalope doesn't neatly fit into a single category as most downtown bars do - all sorts of people rub shoulders here. it can get really busy at times, but there are always places to sit, and the drinks are strong and cheap. the staff and owner are really cool and friendly. me and the girls favorite spot to go out!
