the garage

i went about 1p.m. on a saturday. it was very busy but got right in and the food was brought very quickly. i liked their burgers and fries a lot. i will be goingbackfor sure!

this place is like time travelingbackto the 1980s and eating at a stadium concession stand. it's terrible on every level.

the logistics of ordering, seating, etc is a train wreck. the food quality is awful. nothing appears to be fresh or made on the premises.

usually like this place a lot, but not last night. ordered a burger and fries and got a whole bunch of grease!! sent friesbacktwice and got the same greasebacktwice! horrible heartburn afterwards! service was really good though! will be quite a while before i return!

update 9/17/2014:
i returned to this restaurant a few days ago and the food is so much better now than when they first opened! i really liked the fried onion burger and the fries ordered well done (recommended by the cashier). the well done fries are the best!! the atmosphere is still the same, meaning it is still very, very loud in there. hard to carry on much of a conversation. i wish they would do something about that, but the food is really good now. i will return soon! this won't be a place i go often, because of the noise, but it has really good food!

it was just ok. the hamburger was dry, but had a good flavor. the fries, both sweet potato and french fries, were ok. not crispy and not greasy. catsup actually helped both the fries and the burgers. very, very loud. not a place to carry on a conversation. i will try this again in a few months.

the garage burgers in del city. first time at the garage...not impressed, too much bread, its all you taste. and we got ours to go, the fries were barely warm so i asked for fresh..they dumped thembackin and cooked them a little longer...they were hotter but they were also hard. i had so hoped it would be good because we just don't have much in del city, to bad we didn't get a smashburger!!

had the slaw burger and it was good. i will comebackto try the other burgers. next time i will get the buffalo meat. the atmosphere is awesome and the staff are all very friendly and not bad to look at. it's a clean place and if your looking to have some beers and watch a game this is the place.

not just another burger joint. i was in edmond on my lunch break and very confused on what to eat. i decided to try a burger from the garage. i walk in and find that the menu had many choices of foods, not just burgers. the bartender was very nice and handsome and made great suggestions for me to try the next time. zac did advise me as well as the manager that i could have chosen my burger to be veggie, turkey, buffalo or beef. i wished the lady that took my order would have explained that a little better. i like having options. i did let her know that it was my first time. what confused me was the burger with peanut butter and bacon. i think i want to keep my peanut butter for the peanut butter and jelly white bread sandwich or peanut butter and crackers and not on a hot steamy burger. i order a cheeseburger with mustard. the meat patty was well seasoned with a great char on it. i only wished that my bottom bun couldn’t have been toasted a little bit longer because from the steam of the meat, the mustard and tomatoes, the bottom bun was soggy. i will bebackto try many things on the menu the next time along with the fruit beers during happy hour from 3-6pm daily.

food - good service - awful!. food was good, not great, but much better than most restaurants in edmond. normally i will put up with bad service for good food, as normally the situation is there are too few people working, and generally this is where there is a problem. however there were plenty of workers here, they just didn't seem to be trained or know what they should be doing. it was almost like this was their first week of business.

layout is also confusing, as if they don't know if they want to be a bar or a burger joint. too many big screens, all on the same channel and noise level was way too high for lunchtime, even for a bar. it's almost as if they are owned by two people, one wants to have it be a bar, and the other wants it to be a family restaurant and the result is it is neither.

the day i was there the coke dispenser didn't do the proper mix and was spitting out mostly carbonated water with just a slight bit of mix. i should have known something was wrong with the mountain of ice in the dispenser when people dumped their drinks to try another flavor. also they had a tea dispenser labeled "unsweetened". it was the only one, so not sure if there should have also been a sweet tea dispenser also.

plastic cups were wet as they handed them out at the register, and with all the other problems it made me wonder if they were actually clean. also what is with the plastic knife? if you have reusable plastic cups,why disposable knives?

i want to like this place as it has potential, but it just appears to be managed so poorly and the staff although friendly just appear to be clueless as to what they should be doing, again pointingbackto poor or inexperienced management. fortunately the kitchen staff seems to know what they are doing, and that can make up for a lot of issues with the people up front.

probably will bebackas other than the layout of the place, i'm hoping they were just having an off day, as the place really does have potential with it's simple yet expansive menu.

this place has great burgers but a seriously flawed ordering process. on a busy friday or saturday night, it takes way too long to wait just to place an order and then wait again for a spot to sit. plus, there is no oversight or control and huge groups come in and cut the lines to join "friends" already in line. one cashier only to take orders makes this place too tedius. then if you want a drink from the bar, that's a seperate order process and second payment process. get it together, guys.

great burgers. been passing this place since it opened and it is always packed. we went here last sunday afternoon around 4 and there was no crowd or wait to get in. the atmosphere is great. i agree that the ordering concept is very disjointed and it would be better if you could be seated, look at a menu and then order. but - the buffalo slaw burger was out of this world and the sweet potato fries were amazing. the food we tried outweighed the effort of the awkward ordering. the bar looked cool but didn't try any beer or drinks. will definitely gobackand will root for them to improve the service aspect to equal the food quality. edmond needs more "non-chain" casual dining like this.

great burgers, nasty fries. i've been to the garage twice now with friends. we all had a different entree & were in agreement that the garage is a hit. second visit today, and i tried the beef cheeseburger & asked for a few jalapeños on the side. this seemingly simple request threw a wrench in their day. when said burger was brought to the table it was covered in grilled jalapeños. i scaped 3/4 of them off & it was pure deliciousness. my lunch mate had fish & chips. this consisted of three smallish fried fish pieces on top of some undercooked fries. nothing special there.
my fries must have been sitting on the bottom of the basket for a while. they were cold, over seasoned and extremely soggy. blah. i sent themback& asked for my $$ back. no problems.
no drinks at lunch today, but they have a good full service bar that we enjoyed on our first visit. i like the garage and support local always! please continue to work on consistency & those fries.

good food, drink specials. have visited twice now...great staff, good burgers, and fantastic drink specials! great atmosphere, especially after 10pm! understanding that this is a burger joint, i have to say everyone there was really attentive and the food was delish! i'll bebackoften.

okay food, bad customer service. i waited 25 minutes for my food with a restaurant that had moderate traffic. the tables were dirty, my friend ran a tab and was givenbackthe wrong credit card, he had given hers to another customer. the people who were in line behind us were served before we were and then my friend was served and not me. we were told by the server that "i'll be back." after 10 minutes when i went to the front to ask about my food ( there were no servers in sight) i was rudely told by whom i assume was the manager (no one wears name tags) to gobackto my seat and he would "get it" to me. when he finally brought it another 5 minutes later he told me that it was delayed because i had ordered a vegeterian dish. i suppose this was his way of an apology. a poor one indeed! my thinking is if vegeterian dishes ( which they advertise on the menu) take longer it should be listed on the menu. and while the food was satisfactory the customer service was sorely lacking. as for me i will never eat there again and i will be sure to tell all of my friends about my bad experience. i worked in retail myself, dont these people know how valuable customer service is?

i went here on saturday. the entire operation seemed disorganized from the moment i walked in. the service was terrible and the appetizers are very small. i will admit the onion burger was pretty good! this is the actual conversation i had with someone while trying to call in some fish tacos. "thanks for calling the garage, how can i help you" me- "yes, i would like to call in a togo order please. tg-"we are too busy right now, call later." they hung up on me! how disrespectful. needless to say, i'll never gobackthere no recommend this restaurant to anyone.
