foodbarn has been our lets have a treat dinner for many years, with best friends, family and alone. thefoodalways adds to the conversation as it is tasted shared and fought over.

the service is unobtrusive yet omnipresent. we will have to make another foray for the winter menu and soon

it's a very good destination when going over chapman's peak toward nordhoek. it's included in a very cute village. theirfoodis well presented and tasty. the ambient is also pleasant and relaxed. perfect for a daily drive on the weekend. they also have a deli with very good cakes and bread , just opposite the restaurant in the village.

so divine! this quaint little restaurant delivered just the bestfood& service. we had 3-course dinner meal and just couldnt get enough of all the flavours and gorgeous plating. one won’t think that in noordhoek you’d find a gem like this. will definitely come again.

always love the area, very relaxed and quiet, there is a fresh juice place outside the restaurant definitely my favorite, so heathy and fresh. foodbarn'foodis a "safe" type, everything is very classic and yet not surprised. taste was good, service was good. and a nice place to visit again

this restaurant is absolutely divine. from the moment you walk into this cozy and sophisticated restaurant you are transported to the fragrances and flavours of france. we had a fantastic waiter, michael, who was so friendly, helpful and attentive. he made a great suggestion for thefoodand the manager also helped us to choose a beautiful chardonnay. we started off with their fish tartare. words fall short in describing the all round synchronicity of this dish, the flavours, textures, and presentation were to perfection. we followed this with the fish grenobloise. it was also just perfect. this restaurant is on a new level of excellence. 😊 i look forward to the next time.

what a lovely little restaurant! it's unassuming but the service,foodand decor were amazing. haven't been to a restaurant in awhile that i actually wanted to take pictures of thefoodand rate! thank you for the great experience. the lamb which is their signature dish i only had a taste of, as i don't really like lamb is definitely the best i've ever tasted! i had the sirloin and it was cooked to perfection with a lovely little dollop of mash potato. the dessert was just as delicious as the mains. i had the big white and hubby had the crepes! both worth ordering! yum!!!

this is one of my all time favourites. 

thefoodis unpretentious and always delicious. 

the waitrons are well trained and friendly, they know the menu well and will refold your napkin every time you leave the table. i have never been caught with an empty wine glass, and they often throw in an added extra in the form of a palette cleanser or truffles.

as it's name suggestions it is located in an old barn, which has high ceilings and loads of natural light during the day. the decor is very welcoming and homely. 

if you don't live down south, this one is definitely worth breaking out the passports for.

a heart warming and pleasant waiter greeted us as we entered thefoodbarn on a very wet and cold cape evening. after braving the weather,this restaurant sure did not disappoint.
portions are small but thefoodis delicious. hot plates,steamy vegetables and perfectly paired mains was enjoyed by...

i had the kingklip which was nice. portion small but fish done perfectly. the prawn risotto was a let down, you pay about r70 extra for 4 tiny shrimp like prawns. prawn risotto starter was interesting and tasty. all in all goodfoodbut not entirely worth the price.

been there a couple of times for breakfast. always been too hectic for comfort, understandably service slow .foodis good though and portions generous.

yesterday we drove out to noordhoek. we have been looking forward to the foodbarn for a long while after reading a lot of good reviews. well we weren't disappointed at all. the main restaurant is in one of the old barns and the decor is perfect for this charming place.

our waitress, kirsten, was friendly,helpful and efficient. she explained the layout of the menu well and told us about the different fish that was available. even had a joke about a whale.

when ourfoodarrived we were amazed. flavors were crisp and blended well together in all of our dishes. just the prawn fritters had an odd combination of red cabbage that didn't seem to gel.

no doubt will have to make plans to revisit this gem even though they are so far from us but worth the visit. the foodbarn gets an almost full set from me with 9.5 "teeth" out of 10

the foodbarn is definitely one of the best places for fine dining in the south peninsula with such a stunning location! the restaurant has beautiful decor throughout and all of the staff are very welcoming.  the menu changes depending on the season which i really love because thefoodcan never get boring. the presentation of each plate is absolutely exquisite. i couldn't find anything to fault with any of the incredible dishes. i had a three-course meal which consisted of a starter with glass noodles and rock lobster, a main of risotto with prawns and a hibiscus meringue with a lemon pannacotta topped with a raspberry compote. every mouthful of each dish was pure bliss. i will definitely go back for more and would love to do the full tasting menu. i highly recommend the foodbarn if you are looking for incredible, high-qualityfoodand an amazing fine dining experience which is not over priced at all.

not banting friendly at all, even tho it's advertised as banting friendly.foodis lovely, but the portions are way too small and the prices are just down right ridiculous.

t clo and waseem dawood treated me to dinner for my birthday. i was so excited to try the foodbarn as their menu sounded exquisite and the reviews were excellent. i'm so glad we went, thefoodwas delicious. i chose the ravioli for starters, every bite wall flavorful and unique. i have the risotto with prawns for mains, vest risotto i have ever had. i was lick to taste the sustainable fish which i absolutely loved and the lamb which lacked something but still tasty. i can't wait to go back!!!!!

i saw that thefoodbarn had a very high rating on zomato so i had to make a plan to try it for myself. 

what a great restaurant which stays true to the produce they use, without creating too much of a fuss around it.

my group opted to share a table salad as a starter, this salad is huge – easily enough for four people & so fresh. for mains we had the risotto with prawns, the cannelloni and chef’s pan bagna…not sure if i spelled that correctly. the latter was the best choice; great flavours and fresh trout. the risotto and cannelloni were also yum but less memorable! all dishes come with suggested wines and the chardonnay i had was fantastic. it’s great when a knowledgeable person has done the thinking for you. the waitress was super friendly, maybe even a little bit too much; she was giving us so much information on the different dishes that i imaged the next line would be how the lettuces were plucked from this mountainous range or that the fish was called chris and had a fantastic life. you get the picture. but, on the other hand, it’s great to hear from someone with a passion for what they do. 
next time i save up for the tasting menu with wine pairing!
