simply the best combination of flavours i have had in years. relaxed atmosphere, highly professional staff, beautiful presentation and all at a reasonable price. perfect for sunday lunch. 6 stars!!!

foodbarn has been our lets have a treat dinner for many years, with best friends, family and alone. the food always adds to the conversation as it is tasted shared and fought over.

the service is unobtrusive yet omnipresent. we will have to make another foray for the winter menu and soon

it's a very good destination when going over chapman's peak toward nordhoek. it's included in a very cute village. their food is well presented and tasty. the ambient is also pleasant and relaxed. perfect for a daily drive on the weekend. they also have a deli with very good cakes and bread , just opposite the restaurant in the village.

the loadshedding lunch menu was on offer when we visited which didn't seem to detract from serving up well prepared food. portions are small so that you can easily finish all 3 courses which were delicious. will be back for more!

food was excellent, every morsel delicious. flash fried calamari starter is of special note -worthiness. when not full and in cold weather, it would have been nice to be seated away from the door. no other complaints at all. yum.

the coffee is always great here, the ambience is always warm and inviting. feels like you’re dining inside a small bookshop with all the books on the one side. if you’re not an animal lover i would give this a skip, as people bring their dogs inside. this morning i had a chicken tremazini with potatoes and salad, nice sized portion. i’ve also had the breakfasts which are pretty good aswell, one cant really go wrong with bacon and eggs!

so divine! this quaint little restaurant delivered just the best food & service. we had 3-course dinner meal and just couldnt get enough of all the flavours and gorgeous plating. one won’t think that in noordhoek you’d find a gem like this. will definitely come again.

had a magnificent lunch! very relaxed atmosphere. the table next to us had their 2 dogs with them. the waiter was professional and very helpful. every course was a delight from the starter to the desert and there are 4 of us. we never felt rushed or pressured. courses came out as slowly as we requested. highly recommended.

always love the area, very relaxed and quiet, there is a fresh juice place outside the restaurant definitely my favorite, so heathy and fresh. foodbarn' food is a "safe" type, everything is very classic and yet not surprised. taste was good, service was good. and a nice place to visit again

this restaurant is absolutely divine. from the moment you walk into this cozy and sophisticated restaurant you are transported to the fragrances and flavours of france. we had a fantastic waiter, michael, who was so friendly, helpful and attentive. he made a great suggestion for the food and the manager also helped us to choose a beautiful chardonnay. we started off with their fish tartare. words fall short in describing the all round synchronicity of this dish, the flavours, textures, and presentation were to perfection. we followed this with the fish grenobloise. it was also just perfect. this restaurant is on a new level of excellence. 😊 i look forward to the next time.

what a lovely little restaurant! it's unassuming but the service, food and decor were amazing. haven't been to a restaurant in awhile that i actually wanted to take pictures of the food and rate! thank you for the great experience. the lamb which is their signature dish i only had a taste of, as i don't really like lamb is definitely the best i've ever tasted! i had the sirloin and it was cooked to perfection with a lovely little dollop of mash potato. the dessert was just as delicious as the mains. i had the big white and hubby had the crepes! both worth ordering! yum!!!

this is one of my all time favourites. 

the food is unpretentious and always delicious. 

the waitrons are well trained and friendly, they know the menu well and will refold your napkin every time you leave the table. i have never been caught with an empty wine glass, and they often throw in an added extra in the form of a palette cleanser or truffles.

as it's name suggestions it is located in an old barn, which has high ceilings and loads of natural light during the day. the decor is very welcoming and homely. 

if you don't live down south, this one is definitely worth breaking out the passports for.

a heart warming and pleasant waiter greeted us as we entered the food barn on a very wet and cold cape evening. after braving the weather,this restaurant sure did not disappoint.

i had the kingklip which was nice. portion small but fish done perfectly. the prawn risotto was a let down, you pay about r70 extra for 4 tiny shrimp like prawns. prawn risotto starter was interesting and tasty. all in all good food but not entirely worth the price.
