excellent place for japanese cuisine, had visited the there mumbai's spot too. loved there ambiance.
had ordered for :
- fish fried open bao : bassa fish with sriracha sauce,mayonnaise and pickled cucumber. what an amazing combo!!
-prawn & garlic chive dim sums which was so good and filling.
-chicken rice which was served with broth & vegetables
-fatty pho the best one so far. black noodles ramen tried for the firsttimeturned out to be awesome.
and the last, the desert we had was there special cranberry & soy milk parfait. which was gluten free and was damn delicious.

overall a good place. we visited in a oddtimeso that many people weren’t to be seen.

fatty bao has aced both, the inside cozy dining and pleasant rooftop setting. their incline today’s asian theme really makes you want to order something out of the box.

i went to fatty bao for the firsttimeafter seeing great reviews. overall it was a good experience but it is overpriced. we ordered ramen soup but got maggie noodles instead with maggie powder on top .
a bit disappointed with that .

maybe i went with more expectations. i dined in, ordered 6 items including food and beverages (mocktail), of which 2 items weren't upto the mark(the taste). the place is small, but looks cute and nice, you get the kungfu panda vibes from the wall art. waitingtimewasn't too long atleast for me. quality of the food was really good; the meat i meant. overall, a good experience but had expected a bit more. the parking wasn't pleasing too; a basement with a lot of leftover construction debris.

well short oftimeso a quick one. the ambiance was cosy but not matching to a standard the restaurant should have offered. especially for the prices concerning the food.
firstly no valet parking. man fending for myself in indiranagar for parking. then what are the premium prices i pay at the restaurant. secondly service was lousy. had to wait for their own sweettimeto place our order. menu were taken unceremoniously from us because why would we need it. we have made the order anyways in their minds. if mains were to be ordered later surely we could remember it in our minds. thirdly food was served cold. it still tasted well. goes to show how a wonderful chef is let down by clueless staff. all in all a great place to order food from. you atleast have the option of reheating it in the comfort of your own microwave.

iv known that this place gets quite crowded and people standby on waiting , luckily we got there by 1240 and could easily get a table. this is one of those few places that hasn't lost its touch post the pandemic.. and boy am i glad!! we devoured the food and wine. absolutely relished every bite. tried out all the veg dimsums , mushroom and the edamame one was really something else. and that red chilli sauce they serve with the dimsums..just yum! also tried the veg asparagus sushi , for someone who has never eaten sushi before i quite enjoyed it , the layering of sushi with wasabi paste and that dip was enjoyable. finished it off with a super satisfactory ramen bowl! honestly if i wasn't full and about to explode i would have loved to check out more items on the menu. can't wait to go back and explore more here.
i'm really surprised that this place has received some bad reviews , this is the thirdtimei'm coming here and iv always left with nothing but satisfaction and joy of being able to enjoy their food.

the only con i can think of is that the place may be a tad understaffed , mainly 2 people serving tables. but if you've got some good company then waiting isn't going to seem like a big deal.
definitely a must try place for some pan asian cuisine

the place has some amazing food. however the staff is very rude. they have no courtesy at all. we visited the place at 8:10 and was mentioned about waitingtimeof 30 mins. when i agreed the staff mentioned you can actually leave as if you wait for 30 mins, our last ordertimewould be close and we may not be be taking the order around that time. this is the 2ndtimesame thing happened. and the way it was conveyed felt like they were forcibly serving food to the folks. very sad experience overall, would not visit this place again.

fatty bao is one of my favourite places to eat out. i’ve been here for atleast 6-7 times. the food is just delicious.

dishes to try for sure:

teriyaki chicken bao - the bao buns are just beautifully soft and the chicken inside is delicious.

prawn tempura- my personal favourite. make sure you order 8 pieces one, trust me you would want to each more.

dimsums- full of stuffing inside and the sauces provided on the side goes really well!

duck nachos - if you are feeling a little adventurous

via malaysia ramen is very very good and filling

and my most favourite part -

the japanese cheese cake. this comes with and ice cream, biscuit crumbs and cherry compote. the firsttimei had this the cake, it just melted in my mouth. however when i recently visited, both the times the cake is not as good as before. it is more hard and the taste is just gone.

the food boxes was not taped , i will refuse nexttimeis it's not taped properly,

although the looks of everything is nice, the taste was literally zero. it was cold and tasted average. i have been to this place many times before lockdown, and every thing used to be so fantastic. but thistimei had a reality check. really disappointed and i’m never going back to this place again.
food:
the avocado and salmon sushi was okay, almost average - 2/5.
fatty pho ramen was little above okay, but the add on bacon was utterly bad - 4/5 for the ramen & 0/5 for the bacon.
the kimchi pork and chinese cabbage momos were good and served hot - 3/5.
bbq chicken closed bao - cold and tasteless. the fillings were not fresh - 2/5.
teriyaki glazed chicken bao was the worst - 1/5.
japanese cheesecake was utterly horrible, it was undercooked - 2/5.

don’t judge a book by it’s cover, the photos must look good but the taste was nothing upto the mark.

and worse part, they charge so heavily and the performance is under delivered.

yesterday was one of the days when i kept trying dishes thinking, ‘oh the next one will be good’. but that moment never came.

putting it out all in the open because we all know that not every restaurant can maintain their quality. and those who love fatty bao or coming here for the first time, maybe it’stimewe put a question mark to that!

firsttimeordering for home delivery. the food tasted really good. the bao was too good and it was fresh made. will order more for home delivery😁
