sad. i love the boilingpotbut the prices have gotten ridiculous. the shrimp feast was originally $17.99, but it has gone up from $24.99 to $30.99! i mean really? and the steamed plates have gone from $10.99 to $14.99 and they never seem to have the royal reds.

say what ????. my family and i have been loyal boilingpotcustomers for years. the shrimp plate was always our choice, with the tilapia and/or catfish plates running a close second. the quantity, quality and taste was always wonderful! a good casual place to eat - as well as easy to order to go dishes. sure, i ate out of a paper box-thingy, my sides were in styrofoam ... all to be eaten with plastic utensils and paper napkins. but, it worked! now !!! ??? !!! to increase the shrimp platter from $13.99 to $25.00 with no increase in service and/or (especially) friendliness from the staff taking my order is beyond sensibility! when/if i pay a minimum of $50 for 2 dinners, i am going to be seated, have my taken by a wait-staff member, eat on "real" plates with "real" silverware, and when i finish i will wipe my mouth with a cloth napkin. not a tiny paper one that will shred with the first use - plus i won't be expected to bus my own table!!! for that amount of $$s, no one would expect to line up to order it, cart the food to a table oneself on a plastic tray ... in addition to get one's own drink and condiments in a communal beverage station. believe me, i don't have a problem doing that - but i do have a problem paying $50 for the food with no change in anything else! tilapia plates increased from $10.99 to $17? get real! this is not a 5-star rated restaurant with 5-star service! i can eat shrimp from oodles of restaurants within 5 miles of yours and have a wait-staff member serve me - for w-a-y less than $50. yes, i loved your food - but i will now miss your food!

tillmans corner location bad!!!. i work at a local business around the corner from the boilingpotin tillmans corner, we sent a employee there to pick us up lunch, we wanted three orders of shrimp alfredo, but when our employee went to order, he was informed that they only had one dish left of shrimp alfredo, at 12:30 pm!!! so we took the one alfredo and order two cheeseburger poboys to go with it. when we got our meal the two poboys were not even the size of the palm of our hands, and literally looked like they took two pieces of bread and put a "meatball inbetween them, squirt some katsup, mayo and alot of lettuce, the "meatball was even burnt, there were no sides included, and it cost 7 dollars, mcdonalds has a better cheeseburger than this place. wont be back

big menu change. boilingpotused to be a great place to get seafood at a reasonable price. the new menu has changed much of that. different menu items and much different prices. i went to get a full size shrimp po-boy that my girlfriend and i were going to split. used to cost $14 or $15 and was plenty to fill up both. new menu price for a 6-inch shrimp po-boy w/ no fries is $10. i went w/ the fried shrimp basket instead for $10 and my g/f got the fried crawfish tails basket. while my portions were enough, hers included much more food and she took home quite a bit of food for leftovers. the prices have changed dramatically and so has the menu. went in knowing i was going to get out of there for under $20 but it was about $30 after it was said and done. the food was good but it was not the same place... plus the girl taking our order had her head resting on her hand and didn't look up the whole time... never a good start to a meal.

new menu disappointing. my son and i stopped at the boilingpotfor supper and were disappointed to find out that they have changed their menu and the items we liked most are no longer offered. i have to be gluten-free so i can't eat the fried items or the poor boys. i always got the grilled shrimp which was delicious but it is no longer on the menu. my son loved the crawfish and shrimp appetizers but these items are also gone. we left and went elsewhere.

bugs? yum!!. bugs - also known as crawdads or crayfish - have been a favorite since i was a child: jus' cook 'em up. same here: walk in, belly up to the bar & they call your number when your fish is done. donald (my husband) prefers his as part of a po'boy, tho boilingpothas *many* others (we were told the tuna's delightful). no servers, just a clean place to eat, & the folks we saw there were a pleasant mix of locals & stunned tourists - 1 guy near us got a fried flounder & by the gods there was a whole flounder, fins, eyes & all, fried up on his plate! huge portions - i nearly couldn't finish my lunch portion, & donald had only a half-po'boy, so fair warning. no frills, just good *fresh* hot food. & if you're on your way from atlanta to a houston wedding, that's all you want.

po boys rich in flavor. there are simply no words. this is gulf-coast seafood at it's fastest and best. don't get me wrong, there are better seafood places all along the gulf coast, but if you want it quick and hot, the boilingpotis the place. order at the counter, and sit at one of the humble-but-clean booths and just lose yourself in lightly fried perfection. i love the shrimp plate, which is loaded with shrimp, and the shrimp or oyster po boys are picturesque. if you're in the mobile area (or you live there) you must immerse yourself in the boilingpotexperience!

hooray for po-boys!. my husband got the crawfish po-boy to go and it looked like a fried crawfish explosion in that container! perfectly cooked and pretty good bread. honestly, i would have preferred french bread with a little more crunch on the outside but it may have been due to it being a to go order and sitting in the box for about 10 minutes and steaming. i got the oyster po-boy and they weren't as generous with my filling. i guess that's to be expected since the oil spill and all. i regret that they do not have a remoulade sauce but their spicy house sauce is quite yummy. i'm torn between them and orleans cafe on airport west of university. i wish boilingpotserved fried pickles as well. we got a side of gumbo and hush puppies as well. the gumbo was tasty but not really up to par with all the amazing gumbo in mobile. the hush puppies were wonderfully sweet and delicious! they're great as a dessert or side and very reasonably priced.
