we discovered this place late in our month in mobile but will make it back for sure. the food is absolutely delicious and reasonably priced considering what you get.

weorderthe mahi mahi (incl. 2 sides $13) and the catfish pierre (incl. 2 sides $10). both were outstanding! the pierre was 2 healthy pieces of catfish covered in a rich and creamy sauce with either crawfish or shrimp, maybe both. i'dorderit again... and again.

we also tried the fried shrimp (10 pc. for $10 incl. 2 sides). another hit! the mix of sides were corn, cheese grits, shrimp jambalaya, and broccoli casserole. all were simply amazing.

regarding the criticisms of the service, i suppose i understand. the person at the cash wasn't particularly friendly, at least not to us. the service is a little slow and it doesn't look like it's as efficient as it could be. but considering it's an order-at-the-counter type restaurant, service isn't really what the place is about. i would dock one point for that but then i'd reinstate a bonus point for the exceptional food and value.

what a joke! came here on a friday for dinner. they took myorder@ 7:50pm, we didn't get ourorderuntil 8:40pm. what kind of place makes people wait that long?the employees seem like they hated being there. i was so pissed when we finally got our food, that i didn't even bother complaining they got one of my side orders wrong! don't waste your time with this place if you're really hungry or in a hurry or expecting decent service!

great food. dumb cashier. i ordered a po boy and i asked what came with it. she said nothing and just stood there. it have been nice to hear a suggestion on what sides they had. minimum wage employees so what can i expect.
i was at the one in tillman's corner. i got myorderto go. should have checked it because it was cold. there is not much worst than cold seafood.

tonight we called in anorderto the airport blvd location not only could i not under stand the man's "ghetto" accent he didn't even know their menu, he also asked me "what my name is" before he hung up on me (without giving me a total or a thank you). when we can to pick up our call inorderwe talked to a manager who informed us that the boy isn't even suppose to answer the phone "he does not know how to answer the questions properly". when we walked up to the counter to get our food we were told they do not start cooking the food until you come in and pay, oh and we had to reorder because ourorderwas not put in.. i would not recommend this resturant/ location.

avoid!! horrible!! do not eat here!. (airport blvd location) we went here hoping for decent seafood and boy were we beyond disappointed!! the quality of the food and the whole experience feels like a fast food place although i've eaten at much better fast food places. we *tried* toorderthe snapper, but they were out (on a monday) so then we *tried* toordercrab cakes, nope, strike 2, they were out of those too! the french fries that came with the kids' meals tasted like freezer--probably ore-ida reheated. the hushpuppies were well/over done!! after choosing something other than the snapper, my husband's po boy was cold. he ordered no ketchup and so he got no ketchup and no mayo, no moisture, just dried out bread and dry sandwich with lettuce that looked old and not stuffed--hardly any meat--it looked like a sad kids' cafeteria meal!! they called us to come pick up ourorderonly to tell us that part of theorderwasn't ready so really theorderwasn't ready so while some food sat, we sat and waited another 5 or so minutes for one plate/order before the completeorderwas truly done. we asked for water cups. the kids got their small kids' styrofoam cups for their drinks and we (adults) got even smaller plastic cups for water. the size cup was laughable--about half the size of the small kiddie cups!! overall, just avoid this place at all costs!!!!

say what ????. my family and i have been loyal boiling pot customers for years. the shrimp plate was always our choice, with the tilapia and/or catfish plates running a close second. the quantity, quality and taste was always wonderful! a good casual place to eat - as well as easy toorderto go dishes. sure, i ate out of a paper box-thingy, my sides were in styrofoam ... all to be eaten with plastic utensils and paper napkins. but, it worked! now !!! ??? !!! to increase the shrimp platter from $13.99 to $25.00 with no increase in service and/or (especially) friendliness from the staff taking myorderis beyond sensibility! when/if i pay a minimum of $50 for 2 dinners, i am going to be seated, have my taken by a wait-staff member, eat on "real" plates with "real" silverware, and when i finish i will wipe my mouth with a cloth napkin. not a tiny paper one that will shred with the first use - plus i won't be expected to bus my own table!!! for that amount of $$s, no one would expect to line up toorderit, cart the food to a table oneself on a plastic tray ... in addition to get one's own drink and condiments in a communal beverage station. believe me, i don't have a problem doing that - but i do have a problem paying $50 for the food with no change in anything else! tilapia plates increased from $10.99 to $17? get real! this is not a 5-star rated restaurant with 5-star service! i can eat shrimp from oodles of restaurants within 5 miles of yours and have a wait-staff member serve me - for w-a-y less than $50. yes, i loved your food - but i will now miss your food!

tillmans corner location bad!!!. i work at a local business around the corner from the boiling pot in tillmans corner, we sent a employee there to pick us up lunch, we wanted three orders of shrimp alfredo, but when our employee went to order, he was informed that they only had one dish left of shrimp alfredo, at 12:30 pm!!! so we took the one alfredo andordertwo cheeseburger poboys to go with it. when we got our meal the two poboys were not even the size of the palm of our hands, and literally looked like they took two pieces of bread and put a "meatball inbetween them, squirt some katsup, mayo and alot of lettuce, the "meatball was even burnt, there were no sides included, and it cost 7 dollars, mcdonalds has a better cheeseburger than this place. wont be back

big menu change. boiling pot used to be a great place to get seafood at a reasonable price. the new menu has changed much of that. different menu items and much different prices. i went to get a full size shrimp po-boy that my girlfriend and i were going to split. used to cost $14 or $15 and was plenty to fill up both. new menu price for a 6-inch shrimp po-boy w/ no fries is $10. i went w/ the fried shrimp basket instead for $10 and my g/f got the fried crawfish tails basket. while my portions were enough, hers included much more food and she took home quite a bit of food for leftovers. the prices have changed dramatically and so has the menu. went in knowing i was going to get out of there for under $20 but it was about $30 after it was said and done. the food was good but it was not the same place... plus the girl taking ourorderhad her head resting on her hand and didn't look up the whole time... never a good start to a meal.

the manager told me she would microwave my food!!!the worst experience ever. the most unprofessional rudest "manager" michelle mckinney has no knowledge on customer service! after waiting 30 minutes for my food i told the young lady at the counter i had to leave bc of an emergency that had happened. so i left and called to let them know it would be a while b4 i could get my food and asked if she could remake my food when i'm able to come back. the manager michelle mckinney told me she would not and that she will microwave my food. i told her i would just come get a refund, then she told me she would go ahead and remake my food. once i get there i told her i want toordersomething else of equal valve (thinking she would still microwave my food) and she refused my service. she needs to be fired! i will never ever eat here again and will tell everyone about this business! they don't appreciate their customers. i was a weekly customer spending about $70 a week... i'll take my money to some other place who appreciate their customers!

good lunch on 10/12/13. we stopped by for lunch on saturday the 12th. spouse had the dungeness crab and i had the platter (oysters, shrimp, and catfish). the crabs were well-prepared and there were no leftovers. the platter was a mixed bag in that the oysters and shrimp were excellent (as always); the catfish didn't quite make par. the catfish wasn't cooked well enough and had a bit too much fat from the skin side for my taste. overall very good meal and we'll back the next time we're in mobile.

poboys and wraps. we visited for lunch on 6/12/10. you wait in line toorderand they call your number when it's ready, so there's no traditional table service. we had the oyster and shrimp poboys and a shrimp wrap and they were outstanding. the oysters were large, breaded just right and cooked in fresh oil with no greasy residue. the shrimp were medium size, breaded with a touch of spice reminiscent of crab/shrimp boil.

a half poboy or single wrap is more than enough for most appetites. the poboys were loaded - the oysters and shrimp were overflowing the french loaf on all sides. defnitely on my list for a return visit.

po boys rich in flavor. there are simply no words. this is gulf-coast seafood at it's fastest and best. don't get me wrong, there are better seafood places all along the gulf coast, but if you want it quick and hot, the boiling pot is the place.orderat the counter, and sit at one of the humble-but-clean booths and just lose yourself in lightly fried perfection. i love the shrimp plate, which is loaded with shrimp, and the shrimp or oyster po boys are picturesque. if you're in the mobile area (or you live there) you must immerse yourself in the boiling pot experience!

hooray for po-boys!. my husband got the crawfish po-boy to go and it looked like a fried crawfish explosion in that container! perfectly cooked and pretty good bread. honestly, i would have preferred french bread with a little more crunch on the outside but it may have been due to it being a to goorderand sitting in the box for about 10 minutes and steaming. i got the oyster po-boy and they weren't as generous with my filling. i guess that's to be expected since the oil spill and all. i regret that they do not have a remoulade sauce but their spicy house sauce is quite yummy. i'm torn between them and orleans cafe on airport west of university. i wish boiling pot served fried pickles as well. we got a side of gumbo and hush puppies as well. the gumbo was tasty but not really up to par with all the amazing gumbo in mobile. the hush puppies were wonderfully sweet and delicious! they're great as a dessert or side and very reasonably priced.
