they have become very proud of their food. what used to be agreatcasual place for seafood has become a $19 a plate for fried shrimp. with 2 small sides.
given that it is now same price as any seafood restaurant in town and offers zero atmosphere , i'll go elsewhere from now on. when i first started eating at the boiling pot, this same plate was $12 b

not worth it!. used to begreatand worth the money. went in today and waited an hour for subpar food that was not cheap! i could have gotten better from a fast food joint or the frozen food section of a grocery store! manager hid in her office and when she did come out she wouldn't say a thing to a customer and looked like she just came out of a hunting camp! will not be back!

big menu change. boiling pot used to be agreatplace to get seafood at a reasonable price. the new menu has changed much of that. different menu items and much different prices. i went to get a full size shrimp po-boy that my girlfriend and i were going to split. used to cost $14 or $15 and was plenty to fill up both. new menu price for a 6-inch shrimp po-boy w/ no fries is $10. i went w/ the fried shrimp basket instead for $10 and my g/f got the fried crawfish tails basket. while my portions were enough, hers included much more food and she took home quite a bit of food for leftovers. the prices have changed dramatically and so has the menu. went in knowing i was going to get out of there for under $20 but it was about $30 after it was said and done. the food was good but it was not the same place... plus the girl taking our order had her head resting on her hand and didn't look up the whole time... never a good start to a meal.

so many po boy choices... like others, you are in po boy heaven here. recommended by our hotel, we stopped by for dinner this evening. so many po boy choices, you want a little of each. started with the gumbo, which had agreatkick, that you can add more kick if you wish. i ordered the oyster po boy, it was so wonderful. add this local gem to you inexpensive dining when in mobile al.

po boy heaven. i had agreatdining experience at the boiling pot!! the oyster po boy and the shrimp po boy are packed w/ flavor and they really pile the shrimp and oysters on! the sandwich is fully dressed w/ lettuce and roumalade sauce which tastegreatthe french rolls are crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside! the catfish and talapia also tastegreatthere as well! the seasoning that they use for all of the seafood that i tasted had a good cajun spice blend. the portion sizes are huge, so if you are in mobile and hungry...stop by the boiling pot. it is the next best thing to new orleans! all the sides taste great..the corn was extra yummy! happy eats!

hooray for po-boys!. my husband got the crawfish po-boy to go and it looked like a fried crawfish explosion in that container! perfectly cooked and pretty good bread. honestly, i would have preferred french bread with a little more crunch on the outside but it may have been due to it being a to go order and sitting in the box for about 10 minutes and steaming. i got the oyster po-boy and they weren't as generous with my filling. i guess that's to be expected since the oil spill and all. i regret that they do not have a remoulade sauce but their spicy house sauce is quite yummy. i'm torn between them and orleans cafe on airport west of university. i wish boiling pot served fried pickles as well. we got a side of gumbo and hush puppies as well. the gumbo was tasty but not really up to par with all the amazing gumbo in mobile. the hush puppies were wonderfully sweet and delicious! they'regreatas a dessert or side and very reasonably priced.
