having walked past here a thousand times, i have eaten at almost every restaurant in glen waverley but here. boy was i missing out. a great venue with dishes that satisfied my picky tastebuds, i was impressed considering it was also so close to home. with tapas, it does become quite costly for a big eater like myself. between the two we spent over $100 not including a cocktail. out of everything we ordered, i did find that we could have done without the corn dish, 10/10 for presentation however. thoroughly enjoyed my first experience, must come back to try to desserts next time and definitely the perfectplaceto eat before a movies date!

😱lizzie’s first impression: this is possibly one of the best mexican restaurant i’ve been to in melbourne. although situated all the way in glen waverley, i think it’s worth travelling for.

🍩lizzie enjoyed: it was my first time trying white fish ceviche and it turned out to be so delicious - i loved the citrus flavours and the melon. we tried he prawn quesadillas and they were really different and nice - like a little cracker with a warm cooked prawn filling. the tacos were amazing - we tried the soft shell crab ones and it was really flavoursome.

🍅lizzie did not enjoy: the main lamb dish was a bit of a let down - i almost rather ordering different tacos instead of a diy - it needed some sauce as the slaw and the lamb just didn’t cut it.

🥇lizzie rates overall: a greatplaceto go to for a date night or a celebration for something. i think prices are quite affordable especially for the quality

enjoyed a delicious dinner here on the weekend. we shared the corn, pulled pork tacos, lamb belly tacos & toro fried chicken. made sure we left enough room to try the coconut rice pudding also. really want to return soon and try the lamb shoulder which sounds amazing. thisplacehas 2 sittings - 5.30 & 8pm and is a great local place. will definitely return to try and eat our way through the rest of the menu. staff and service were fantastic also.

thisplacealways seems to be packed and i can understand why!! best to book a day or two in advance just in case. the food here was sensational. we decided to order the banquet which costs $45 pp,but it was a little confusing because we were under the impression that we got to choose the dishes, but infact the chef decided which meals we would be eating. but it didn't matter too much because the whole menu looked delish and we wanted to try everything! we will definitely be back because i really want to try the dessert next time omnomnom #zomg

we ate here for dinner tonight and have to say i was a bit disappointed! first off the staff were great and not to blame at all! the food and price point is just a bit ridiculous! fried chicken pieces for $17, about 10 pieces of diced chicken breast fried is a bit of a rip! the tacos were a bit boring for the price you pay, the lamb belly was almost cold! i understand you would slow cook it and then probably reheat it but at least do it properly!

now i am comparing this to restaurants in the city because it's priced higher than places similar in the city! if you want value for money this isn't theplacefor you!

i tried thisplaceas it always seems busy, after we made booking we were placed on the footpath table even though there are other free table at better location. food was ok, not worth the price tag. definitely not coming back.

always wanted to try thisplaceand it was local and always seemed to be busy. the moment you walk in the atmosphere was dark and kinda seductive like high end restaurants you expect from crown.

food was nice but definitely not for the price tag. it was simply a fonda with extra dollars. would definitely not come back.

went here a couple years ago, thisplacehas really fallen from where it was before.

waiter got our order wrong, dropped cutlery, there were bugs in our lettuce (didn’t apologise), gave us the wrong order and made us pay for it. tortillas were dry, tacos were mediocre, wouldn’t go back again. also toilets were dirty.

we will never eat here again. i wouldn’t recommend thisplaceto anyone. management should be ashamed of themselves for having zero courtesy for patrons who book weeks in advance, provide credit card details to secure the booking - only to be told they are seated outside in the middle of winter. what an absolute joke. the wholeplaceshould be shut down. social distancing regulations were not adhered too. no additional hygiene measures. staff willing to “bend the rules” as long as paying patrons are flexible in their overbooked restaurant and out within the hour. what a disappointment. never again.

littleplacebut not squishy, good space and a beautiful bar . delicate and good tasty mexican food. have to try their mocktail with passion fruit !!! and the salmon tartare with fried nori is also special and fantastic !!! the tempera fish taco is so yummy !!!they also have outside sitting with heater on

i was really excited to try out thisplacefor my birthday. however, i was greatly disappointed by the availability of dishes for vegetarians. i ordered the corn fideos which was the only vegetarian "family sized" option. for $28, i got a less noodles than you would get in a two-minute noodle box. there was some sauce mixed in but no veggies on the side.

final stage of the 'feed me' option 🍦 great dessert variety. pretty disappointed in the overall 'feed me' option though. only get one small main for two people which isn't ideal at all 🙁 probably won't order it again but on the bright side the dessertplacewas good 🍦 5/10 for value for money.

a very lovely friend of mine suggested black toro and i’m a vegetarian so my thoughts are, ok, let’s have corn chips 😃 but the story changed immediately when we ordered. we decided to go for the feed me option, you pay $52 and get several courses. it was amazing, there are adapted my menu to vegetarian and it was delicious, gosh never thought about it, that thisplacecan do such a great veggie food. the service was amazing and so lovely, what a great friday evening, thanks a lot of having us and shared such an amazing experience for and with us. p.s: on the picture you can see the strawberry margarita.. so deliciousssssssss

as someone who lived in california where mexican food is very popular, i’m finding that thisplacecertainly doesn’t taste mexican at all, but obviously a lot better than most other mexican restaurants in melbourne. the food still tasted good and i think this is a good option around glen waverley.
