fantastic service. one of the absolutely best places in terms of customer service. went with a friend who had an egg allergy and they could specifically cater some of the dishes to it. they would individually have a single wrap without mayo, or change the batter of another to avoid egg. the level of service was just agreatexperience, they would bring out dishes and explain what everything was and what was in it.

portion wise its a little small, but its just a very nice and accommodating place.

having walked past here a thousand times, i have eaten at almost every restaurant in glen waverley but here. boy was i missing out. agreatvenue with dishes that satisfied my picky tastebuds, i was impressed considering it was also so close to home. with tapas, it does become quite costly for a big eater like myself. between the two we spent over $100 not including a cocktail. out of everything we ordered, i did find that we could have done without the corn dish, 10/10 for presentation however. thoroughly enjoyed my first experience, must come back to try to desserts next time and definitely the perfect place to eat before a movies date!

😱lizzie’s first impression: this is possibly one of the best mexican restaurant i’ve been to in melbourne. although situated all the way in glen waverley, i think it’s worth travelling for.

🍩lizzie enjoyed: it was my first time trying white fish ceviche and it turned out to be so delicious - i loved the citrus flavours and the melon. we tried he prawn quesadillas and they were really different and nice - like a little cracker with a warm cooked prawn filling. the tacos were amazing - we tried the soft shell crab ones and it was really flavoursome.

🍅lizzie did not enjoy: the main lamb dish was a bit of a let down - i almost rather ordering different tacos instead of a diy - it needed some sauce as the slaw and the lamb just didn’t cut it.

🥇lizzie rates overall: agreatplace to go to for a date night or a celebration for something. i think prices are quite affordable especially for the quality

enjoyed a delicious dinner here on the weekend. we shared the corn, pulled pork tacos, lamb belly tacos & toro fried chicken. made sure we left enough room to try the coconut rice pudding also. really want to return soon and try the lamb shoulder which sounds amazing. this place has 2 sittings - 5.30 & 8pm and is agreatlocal place. will definitely return to try and eat our way through the rest of the menu. staff and service were fantastic also.

we are so happy with the quality & taste of the food at the black toro. instead of ordering mains we ordered a few small dishes to share. there was not one dish to fault.greatambience in the restaurant. staff were friendly and attentive. we will definitely be back here again. 100% recommend this place.

i have been here 6 times with friends and family. their menu is always changing but it never ceases to impress. staff are extremely friendly and attentive.greatambience for a romantic date, friends/family gathering or business dinner. keep up thegreatwork!

a local restaurant that always looks buzzing, we decided to check it out ourselves. despite visiting on a weeknight, black toro still had agreatambience. our table was slightly squished in as i was almost back to back with the other table and we got forgotten about a few times (our wine took a good 15 minutes to come). we managed to over order (as usual) but the positive was we got to try lots of items on the menu including the corn, croquettes, soft shell tacos and hard shell tacos, and the sliders. couldn’t fault any of the dishes, they were all stunning 😍 a new favourite local for mexican food done extraordinarily well.

came here for dinner on a friday night. the tapas was excellent andgreatfor sharing between the 3 of us. highlights include the mini wagyu beef burgers and the deconstructed peanut butter cheesecake. staff are friendly, professional and providegreatmenu recommendations.

we ate here for dinner tonight and have to say i was a bit disappointed! first off the staff weregreatand not to blame at all! the food and price point is just a bit ridiculous! fried chicken pieces for $17, about 10 pieces of diced chicken breast fried is a bit of a rip! the tacos were a bit boring for the price you pay, the lamb belly was almost cold! i understand you would slow cook it and then probably reheat it but at least do it properly!

now i am comparing this to restaurants in the city because it's priced higher than places similar in the city! if you want value for money this isn't the place for you!

final stage of the 'feed me' option 🍦greatdessert variety. pretty disappointed in the overall 'feed me' option though. only get one small main for two people which isn't ideal at all 🙁 probably won't order it again but on the bright side the dessert place was good 🍦 5/10 for value for money.

drove a solid 45 mins to black toro and felt exhausted after trying to find a car park for another 10 mins. glen waverly is really an evolving area eh...

ordered some wine to start with and that loosen me up a bit thank god. we shared a few dishes among the three of us the prawn taco ish dish was definitely the highlight! croquette wasn't too bad either so was the half chicken. dessert was a bit too sweet and we made a mistake by ordering the sharing platter, it was a bit to much in the end...

overall agreatexperience. service was really quick and friendly!

arrived to the black toro and left feeling that we had our experiences there filled, the vibe and food at black toro was great.

we started off with the short rib taco, though wasn’t the best we’ve had, the favours were great, that followed along which was our favourite was the parmesan doughnuts, no words to describe how wonderful the flavours and texture was in this one, definitely worth it.

out of all meals we had, i’d say that the wagyu sliders were our our least favourite with the cheese taking away the flavours of the beef by drowning if out.

the prawn quesadilla was a nice way to end.

all and all agreatexperience at black toro.

this area suburb of melbourne is very eclectic and the range of cuisine is exceptional. fast efficient service with a smile andgreattasting food. not very cheap but you get what you pay for.

anothergreatoption along glenn, they have a nice venue but it's a bit overpriced compared to everything else around it. servings were also small. i wouldn't rush back here anytime soon.

they do somegreatcorn though!
