the basha cuisine

just had lunch. absolutely delicious. i had the chicken shishtawook and appetizer of smoky babaganough with warm pita. my husband had lamb ribs, new menu item. they were moist and well seasoned.greatservice. totally recommend the basha cuisine. we'll be back often.

best mediterranean restaurant in the johnson county area. nice middle eastern ambiance with curved arches, warm colors and beautiful period tapestries. greatselection of authentic middle eastern menu items full of exotic spices, delicious hummus, various grilled meats like lamb and chicken, and several kid-friendly options.

decent mediterranean cuisine around. not sogreatand not so bad. decent ambience. i felt the price a bit high than the usual mediterranean around here. decent choice in the menu

prices go higher, quality goes down. having been to the basha since they opened, we thought what agreatrestaurant. the food is great, the prices are great, and the restaurant is great. how they flipped this around so quick is unbelievable. our last visit we notices their prices went up by almost 50%, not to mention them charging you an extra $0.50 if you need a little more sauce. the food quality is easily down by 30 or 40%, but coming in there the other day on a hot 95 degree day, the restaurant, was empty, but it was very hot in the restaurant. when i mentioned it to the owner, he said he would turn up the ceiling fan. all the ceiling fan did was move the hot air around more. i will never come back.

the atmosphere was really nice. i was by my self on a business trip, but the sat night crowd was mostly couples and families out, so it's a nice place for date night.

amazing from start to finish. i've been to a few mediterranean restaurants around kc over the years and they have all been so-so, even the ones with rave reviews. but this one wasgreatfrom the start. the service was amazing. she was attentive and knowledgeable and wasn't afraid to give recommendations. we started with falafels that were flavorful. i had the chicken biryani. it came with plenty of amazing rice, a delicious simple salad, hummus and pita bread. i could eat a gallon of that hummus. it was all delicious. we ended the meal with om ali, something i had never heard of before and of course it was also fantastic. definitely coming back.

authentic mediterranean now available in kansas city. even if you don't know if you like mediterranean food, you probably like: beef, chicken or lamb over yellow rice with warm pita bread with excellent salad and hummus. yum! at first, the basha is easy to miss. but head to d'bronx pizza on metcalf and 105th. drive drive left hugging the building. you'll see the small sign and it's facing the walmart neighborhood grocery. whether you've been to the mediterranean and want to be reminded of thegreatflavors or you just like to try new foods, you will like labasha. not spicy, just flavorful. prices are great. it's very clean and easy access from your car in a strip mall. walk right up. very friendly staff. wonderful egyptian owner.

very good. been here 3 or 4 times, the food is excellent, value is very good, service is good, and deserts in particular are worth trying and very reasonable (no $10 molten fudge cake from a box here). baba ganouj appetizer and shish tawook (chicken kabobs) are standouts for me.

another example of solid ethnic food that really disproves the "white suburb chain food" myth of johnson county. given the number of groupons recently i'm worried they're looking for more business. hoping this review spurs some confidence, this place really is agreatvalue and excellent food. take your family here instead of cheesecake or red robin tonight, its a good experience.

well worth the 45 minute drive from leavenworth. the hummus was exceptional, and the mixed grill for two was equally delicious and ridiculously inexpensive. prompt and courteous waitstaff ripped off an alreadygreatmeal. only regret was we didn't save room for desert.

great food, price, decor, service!. i was with a group of 10, and we hadgreatservice. server gave just the right amount of attentiveness; very helpful; cheerful. decorgreattoo. got the shawerma chicken, since it was one of the items that got the mostgreatreviews. it was well worth it...so good that it may make it hard to try something different next time. the hummus was really good. was going to order it, but the server was kind enough to say that it came with the meal...so no need to! and plenty of food for a very reasonable price - will enjoy half tomorrow! the egyptian rice was very good...very different from the swedish rice custard that i make (and like better)...but i would still order it again. though creamy, it still seems light enough not to be too decadent! looking forward to my next time, and to trying some other interesting things on the menu.

i agree with the negative about finding the location. i'm 5 minutes away; familiar with the area, so i could find it. but it is not in the shopping center in the directions...it's across the street; and the directions from my house were way off. if i hadn't known that, i wouldn't have found it.

open buffet. the basha serves buffet only on the weekends in the month of ramadan from 8:30 pm. even thought you still can order from the menu after 8:30. as a vegetarian, you got 2 different kind of rice, salads, soups and agreatauthentic egyptian dish called kushari which is lentil, rice, noodles, tomato sauce and fried onion.

absolutely delicious!. i order food to go for lunch. the owners were up and around serving tables and taking care of costumers. i was greeted immediately and helped with deciding what i should order. i ordered chicken shawerma plate and it was amazing!! i grew up on middle eastern food and this was some of the best. the atmosphere wasgreatas well. i can't wait to go back!

delicious,greatvalue, friendly!. this place is great, helen (one of the critics) has no idea what this cuisine is all about. i had the chicken shawarma and my husband had the kefte ( lamb) kabobs. they were both sensational. i am going to bring my entire family here. the service was fast, friendly and they had answers to all of our questions. we have had all manner of mediterranean , middle eastern and indian foods. this is really tasty and authentic.greatvalue too! we had 2 drinks, an appetizer (dolmades, which are grape leaves stuffed with rice and spices yum) 2 entrées and a desert (om ali) all for $40. i'm in heaven!!

great lunch spot. i went to the basha for the first time at lunch. had a good atmosphere andgreatfood. i had only tried a few mediterranean dishes in the past but i definitely want to come back and try some more. the hummus is fantastic!
